Looking up at the clear blue sky, tinted black by her sunglasses, she sighed happily. To her it was a happy day if she wasn't so stressed from her daily life. Though the sun was out and shining her sunglasses protected her overly sensitive eyes. Keara looked back down at her feet as she continued to walk through the overgrown grassy meadow. Wearing her favourite pair of green-plaid flats, a pair of dark-wash skinny jeans, a plain white t-shirt and her tan leather jacket. Keelin wasn't hungry just yet, as for she hunted yesterday and caught herself a little deer. She hated thinking of killing animals of any sort, but she just couldn't put up with the withdrawls, it was simply unbearable. Reaching a big, mossy Oak tree, she leaned against it, sliding down until she was sitting in the shady comfort of the tree's branches. Keara usually came here to just relax and push all the stress away from her mind. Leaning her head back on the wide trunk she closed her eyes, humming a Beatles song. The Fool on the Hill to be exact. A smile danced on her lips as she was completly calm now. Keara could get extremly lonely here, which she didn't particularly like. Keelin kept on humming the song, her finger tapping the beat on her knee. The wind was peaceful, not coming in big gushes, just a constant soft wave of wind slightly caressing her hair. Keara stopped humming and started to sing with a smooth, liquid like voice. Hitting every note and key perfectly. She had taken piano and singing lessons when she was a human and she didn't stop there. Taking musical lesson's until a few years ago when she started to model. Keara didn't want to be stuck-up and be on every single cover page of every single magazine, so she usually kept it low-key. Her photographers always wanted to raise her, move her to New York, have her on the big-screen. Keara always refused. She hadn't ever been the one for acting anyways. Her brother told her always to be considerate to the people around her, which she does now. Wanting to find her brother so badly to see if he had made the change, there wasn't a single day where she didn't think of him. Keara drifted off, not quite sleeping because it was impossible, but not quite awake. Day dreaming was about as close as it got to actually dreaming. It was nice, relaxing so to speak. Glancing at her phone she realized she had been in her trance like state for well over an hour. You learn to be patient when you plan to live forever, she thought. Leaning her head back on the tree again she ran her fingers through her soft, strawberry blonde curls. Keara looked around to make sure she was still alone. Of course she didn't check behind her, but she wasn't to frightened. Afterall Keara could run fast enough to make any radar malfunction. Keara would do exactly that, too. As for she wasn't to keen on the whole violence thing.

Yeah, yeah you're asking for it,
with every breath that you breathe in,
just breathe it in....

Breathe in,
Breathe out.

Breathe in,
Breathe out.

Steady thoughts chanted through her head, regulating the breathing of the darling we know as Mizuki Amani. Her lungs expanded and contracted as they should, oxygen replenishing her blood with each pump of her heart. Her feet struck the ground in an unending pattern, soft thud signalling each striking of the earth. Slowly, that pattern began to accelerate as she increased her speed. The dark hair that attached to her scalp was pulled back into a loose ponytail, the silky strands bouncing as she continued running. Her bodice was covered by a plain white t-shirt, lower body clad in a pair of rather short red running shorts. The darling's 6-and-a-half feet sported Nike running shoes, white and blue in color with firm rubber grips on the sole. A Velcro strap encircled her upper arm just below the sleeve of the cotton shirt, holding a black full-sized iPod to her body as she continued to move, the white cords that connected to cushioned ear buds leading up to said auditory devices. The tiny speakers pounded a beat into her mind, giving her a rhythm to match with her steps. Her chocolate eyes stared ahead blindly, heated and almost angry-seeming.

This almost unnoticeable fury powered her strides to move faster, arms swinging rapidly as she rounded a bend in the trail, feet still thumping the ground furiously. Breaths huffed out through her mouth, lungs pressuring her for a break from the steady work. Mizuki pushed herself harder for another few seconds, eyes picking out a lightened spot on the wooded trail and focusing on them entirely. In her ears the music crescendoed, a powerful guitar rift signalling the approaching end to Dragonforce's 'Through The Fire and The Flames'. As the last string was struck, she burst into the small meadow, sunlight filtering over her skin like liquid warmth. Wearied by her intense five mile run from the head of the trail, she reached up one hand to touch the stop button on the music player. The sudden silence filled her with unexpected peace as she put a hand on each knee and bent at the waist to catch her breath. As she did so she looked around the small glade.

A tree sat about ten feet in front of her, casting lovely shade from the relentless sun. The ground was covered in lush green grass that wooshed and swayed with the breeze. Mizuki being as unobservant as she was, did not notice the other femme sitting with her back against the tree on the opposite side. An easy gait began to carry her on towards the middle of the meadow, when her peripheral finally caught sight of the the strawberry-blonde sitting there. Muscles contracted and made her spasm in a jump momentarily in slight shock, one small appendage flying to her mouth as it formed a startled 'O'.

"Geez, I didn't see you there. Sorry to disturb you."

Soft, tranquil tones filtered through her plush lips in greeting.

Keara leaned her head back on the tree as she heard the constant, thump-thump of someone's far away feet. Not scared the tinyest bit she closed her eyes and listened to the birds chirp on with thier lovely songs. Noticing the foot falls were coming increasingly closer, she sighed. She didn't want her peace to end now, it was the first time in a long time she was able to let her mind go. Speak whatever she pleased, afterall no one could hear her so far from the city life. Keara lifted her head to the normal up-right position and sat statue still. Listening to the foot steps stop, she stopped breathing as it wasn't nescessary, just a habit. The heavy puffs of breathe for oxygen never subsided for quite a while. The wind was picking up, brushing her with multiple blades of tickely grass. Stuffing her hands in her pockets she sat straight up. Keara noticed again the foot steps had returned lighter this time. They were also coming at her from behind. Keara stiffened and stiffled the warning growl threatening to show its self in her vocals. Lovely, Keara thought with a mentally sarcastic tone. Pulling her knees to her chest she waited for the mundane to reach her. Before she knew it the femme was in front of her, mouth agape. Already apologizing, Keara waved her hand in a 'don't worry about it' manner. "It's fine." Keelin said flatly. She stood up in one swift movement and looked at the girl, who had obviously had been running. The iPod still attached and the ear phones still in place. She frowned. Keara didn't think it was that polite. Then realizing her frown was being impolite she wiped it off her face and replaced it with a cheery one. "I'm Keara Sloane. Sloane is not my last name but it's what most people call me." Keara smiled welcomly. "May I ask you for yours?" She did not want to sound impolite at all, as her brother tought her not too. Pulling her jacket tighter around her for comfort she shifted her weight. Looking out to the surroundings making point of every detail out of boredom. Hopefully this girl, whoever she was would be some company to her. Birds were flying out of the tree left and right. There were a lot more than she had origanally given them credit for. Looking up Keara noticed the poor Oak tree had an extreme amount of nests in it. She was obviously quite un-observant on her way up here. Smiling just enough to keep her fangs from showing she looked back at the delicate girl. One false move she made could send her to her death. It was rather unsettling ecspecially when she came her specifically to relax and forget about her daily struggles. She knew tried in every way to follow in her dear brothers foot steps. It was not as for he was extemly well behaved and she tended to lose track of herself. Coming back to reality she noticed she hadn't washed the pained look of guilt and sadness from her facade.

Feed the hex on the country you love....

The voice of the stranger was flat and unwelcoming, as were her brown-gray eyes. It was clear she was not welcomed here, having disrupted the privacy and tranquility the other had so obviously been seeking. Mizuki fought the urge to paint a hostile look upon her own visage, her ingrained politeness warring with her inner nature. She was one of those who said what she thought exactly when she thought it, told you exactly what she knew to be true and nothing else. She always gave as good as she got and never spared anyone if they bothered not to spare her. So it was a bit of a struggle when the other femme frowned at her not to send a glare back her.

Easily she reached up a hand and yanked out the earbuds, running them across the back of her neck to hang on the opposite side from the iPod. It was, afterall, rude to have them in while holding a conversation. Mild wondering at just how quickly she watched Keara's face morph into a natural, welcoming smile.

She allowed a smile of her own to touch her lips in response to her words, light chuckle coming from her at the girl's automatic explanation.

"Oh, yes, I'm Mizuki Amani. Amani being my last name, not my middle." A touch of humor colored her words to the other girl. Keara appeared to be a few years her junior, but only in appearances. The way she spoke told of a maturity that belied her countenance. That face was suddenly overcome with pain and guilt and sadness, so intense it sent a pang to Mizu's own chest.

"Are you alright?" The soft tones of hers were tinged with concern for someone she barely knew. This was also Mizuki's way.

Keara smiled looking at the clear, fault-less blue sky, still her shades on. She knew it was rude but if she didn't wear them she would most likely give her whole secret away. Squinting unnaturally on a day like this was a 'no-no'. Smiling at Mizuki's remark about her 'It's not my middle name ordeal'. Yet Mizuki had a tinge of humor in it so her smile wasn't harsh, like a smirk. Watching the chocolate coloured birds fly freely. Nothing they had to hide, nothing they were presured about. Free. Free like a bird. Turning back to Mizuki she saw she had saw her pained look. Keara slapped herself mentally. To often she had been too lost in her thoughts, her emotions, that it came up to her physical features. She had also been notorious for zoning off, just like she was managing to do know. You had to be an extremly interesting person for you to keep her short attention span. "Oh, that." Keara started, coming back to reality. The wind blowing her hair in her mouth. She pushed it away a little bit annoyed. "Just thinking of a, uh, relative." It hurt her to even say 'brother' let alone his name. He meant so much to her, she was probably sure that she wouldn't even be that close to anyone in her long life. Keara wanted to change the subject quite badly. "So I see you like to run?" Keara wasn't usually this bad at starting conversations, yet she wasn't expecting Mizuki to come up to her either. Keara herself loved to run but obviously couldn't do it in public. Keara shifted her weight on to her other foot. Slightly bored by Mizuki yet intrigued. If she only knew what she was, if she only knew. Yet Mizuki wasn't in any trouble because Keara was against drinking humans. Yet her self-control wasn't great and it has gotton the best of her. That was the only time she actually killed a human, but she was protecting another human so she persuaded herself it was okay. The one she killed was an older man, the one she protected was a young girl. The older man threatened to kill the poor, innocent, young girl for no reason at all, or none was appearent. Keara had gotton there just when he put the knife up to her neck in that dark, dark alley way. Then her instincts just took over to save the little girl. Keara wasn't ever the one for violence or killing of any sort. Keara never fed from any humans, killed any of them, or even thought of harming them since then. That was one-hundred and two years ago, long, long gone, yet so vivid in her memory. The blood, the tears, the air thick with fear. She had gotton the girl to the hospital and left. She was un-able to bear what she had just done so she went into hiding. Keara snapped back into the future, she had obviously zoned again. Sighing she took a deep breath raising her shoulders trying to act more natural, more human so to speak.

ooc; sorry for taking so long...

This letter's written itself inside out again
when rivers turn to roads and lovers become trends

The faint concern that had passed over her pixie features slid away as Keara's pained expression was explained, though she still mentally pondered over it. Mizuki cared not if the other wore her sunglasses or not, it was, after all, her choice. She saw no reason in being rude over something so small in today's world, not when there were so many more important things that went uncontested and unchallenged. The world had traded in its class and pearls for sex and Myspace long ago.

The lovely gave a mild half-grin in response to Keara's question, slight shrug lifting her left shoulder.

"It's an escape. Easy to forget the bad things when you're concentrating on each foot as it hits the ground. Even better when you've got music to pace yourself to." It was true. When anger or frustration overcame her, she told everyone to fxck off, got in her car, and headed out. She'd stop at any trail, any wooded place. Running was her freedom. Running was her literal escape. It allowed her to leave behind all the demands of the rest of the world, the clamoring, the rot, the death of the world. Mizu could block any unsavory thing when she was moving at her own speed, legs pumping continuously, propeling her further into the depths of a forest or trail.

Surely there were safer places to run than unfamiliar forests, you say. Yes, there were, but what was the point in going to a man-made facility to run in a circle? The point in running was the journey, not the destination. And perhaps the slight danger is what drove her. Not knowing if she would come out again, not knowing if she would ever have the chance to go back to the world she'd longed to escape from. Sometimes, she was even disappointed to round that last bend in a trail and see her car re-emerge. It was a never-ending circle. And circles became tedious. Oh so tedious.

For the first time since seeing the other girl, she allowed her eyes to leave her, the chocolate orbs sweeping the meadow lazily. Birds chirruped as they winged through the sky, betwixt and between the trees and ground. Slowly, she brought her eyes back to the acquaintance she'd just made.

"You look rather familiar, you know." She said as she examined the femme's face, the young appearance, the reddish-blonde hair. Where had she seen her before?

OOC: That's alright. My brain is mostly dead so forgive the crap post. x.x

Keara's grey-brown eyes darted around the field. Catching every little movement her eyes focased to. There was a completly white coloured hare, peeking its light pink nose out of the overgrown grass. Keara was past zoning, fully alert just slightly bored of herself. Keara ran her long fingers through her hair, her fingers getting snagged halfway. Stupid wind, she mumbled to herself. Returning her full, undivided attention to Mizuki. She nodded when she said it was an escape. Keara totally understood that, it didn't really take thought yet it clensed you. It was a good alternative to popping peoples heads off, for sure. Before she could reply at a normal humans rate she cut her off. Mizuki spoke of saying she was familiar. Keara didn't know why, maybe magazines? A club or a bar? She really had no clue. Yet she didn't want to be a stuck up bxtch who goes around saying they model and stuff. Keara didn't like to really talk about her job, as for its competitive and most people got jealous. She didn't want anybody to be jealous of her, she was a monster. A freak. A bloodsucking enemy. Keara decided just to come out with it, or else this conversation would go no where if she was so secluded to herself. "Hmm, maybe in a magazine? I'm a model, and I'm am not trying to be stuck-up or anything of that sort. I actually hate talking about my job because it makes me look like I'm a rude person or something." Keara stopped talking, thinking that she went on about it a little too much. She didn't really care talking about it as long as the person didn't think she was a bxtch or something. Keara was unusually nice for a vampire, she knew a lot that thought they were better than the common folk but it's not true. If the vampires were better wouldn't they be able to die at a normal age like the rest of them? And have something to live for, instead of walking around thinking of ways to spend the next 5,000 years? It did get pretty boring, but between her job and zoning she passed the time pretty well. She actually had a modeling shoot at five the next morning, with the head boss. He was the one petronizing her about moving up to bigger and better places. As always she will have to refuse them yet again, and see his stupid pouty faces yet again, and have to go through the whole "Pretty please???" thing yet again. To many 'yet again's', she thought to herself. Aside from that it was a beautiful day outside and she wasn't lonely anymore. And from there on she started looking on the bright side. Some interesting vampire she was, she'd rather go towards the light than the dark, like other bloodsucking beasts. As long as she had her sunglasses, she'd spend a day happy on a beach rather than in a dark room, alone. She'd rather dance in the rain than be in the forest hunting. She'd rather, ultimatly be a human.
