The Imperium is no doubt the largest Air Power in the Galaxy.
However, with the creation of the Tau Remora Stealth Drone Fighter, what dioes this mean for the balance of Air Power around the Taus area of influence.
Is the production of drone fighters enough to dramaticaly shift the balance of Air Power?
How does this effect the Tau and the Imperium?

I dont believe the construction of drone fighters will shift the Imperium's position as the largest airpower in the galaxy.

I do think this is a positive thing for the Tau and that the Tau will begin to have a greater role in air combat.

Oh absolutely... It would take more than drone fighters to knock the imps from top slot. Byut mass produced pilotless craft is a huge advantage freeing up aircaste for other duties/warzones.
Also coupled with the aerial mines it can make Imperial tasks of gaining air supperiority a nigh on impossible task against the Tau if this technology is implemented to its fullest.

the only thing in the way may actualy be the Tau way of war. They don't go in for 'expendable' troops, as they implement self-preservation into the current Drone systems. mass numbers of drones might work but only if the production facilities can be geared toward it AND the Tau are willing to lose Drones.

I would assume they are but unlike the Imperuim they do not have a massive economy to draw on. resources are still scarce for the Tau were the imperuim has an almost limitless supply of materials and man power.

I completly agree with you about the Imperials and the Tau. It is one of the reasons why the Imperium might never fall. It's just to big to kill.

I wouldnt say never....

If the Tau can expand even further,

it would have very many races in their empire,
then they would have more troops/ships.

And the Tau tech is evolving fast.

So I would say that the Tau could destroy the Imperium over time.

But that is a big maybe.

Right now the Tau are in an extremely tight spot. They are big enough were the imperium recognizes them as a threat, but they are small enough were even a smaller punitave crusade would crush them.

The Tau would not survive a push.

But im thinking over time,

because if there will come another warp storm,
then the Imperium will not be able to get over to the tau empire,

and in that time,
they can evolve even further!

So with alot of time,
and some luck,

they could evolve very to a very large Empire!

But as I said,

thats a biiiiiig maybe.

The Imperial; Navy is made up of maybe a hundred billion men and women. I doubt that that drones could really kill of make a huge dent in all of them. biggrin.gif

Only a small fraction of their number.

Yeah the Imperial fleet is scattered through out the Empire and despite it's unified look the Empire is divided from within.
