Lima Foxtrot: the rebirth

Lima Foxtrot, my own painted Cadre, is do go through yet another Rebirth.

Since being defeated in the 30'000 game (my tau plus a mates against space marines and guard ) Lima Foxtrot hasn't seen much action. It was instead replaced with my much more successful Alpha legion Warband which had a string of excellent victories and as did my Samurai in Warhammer (using a web based armylist from 2003 and Perry miniatures Samurai models).

However, recently my beloved Alpha legion have been soundly wallopped by Daemon forces and a good friend of mine provided me with additional well-painted Tau forced done up in my original 'multi-cam' paint scheme.

So, what better excuse than to get the army on the go again?

Over the next while I will attempt, again, to photo the results of Lima-foxtrot painting and upgrading. True, I've said this before and nothing happened but still. I can put try.

Watch this space.

whats been submitted so far. these models were not painted by me, but by a friend Simon.

they do, however, indicate what i hope to achieve.

heres a few examples of what Simon's produced for me.

his commander, based on that-there-special-character smile.gif. as you can see, freaking awesome

and that other special character. Personally i always preferred Farsight, afterall, who would suspect a tau close combat warrior?

and one of the 12 sample Firewarriors. as you can see the camo is particularly good on the normal blokes. now imagine an entire army of these. if i can just get a fraction of the detail, it'll do the business

and one of my boys 'stacking up' with the newly painted bloke. eventually it is planned that all my boys will look like the multicam chap. at present you can see that my original camo scheme is adequate but not impressive.

all in good time, all in good time smile.gif. still painting them. currently on the painting table are the following.

* 32 fire warriors, in 3 teams, including the purple guys mentioned above. in various states of painting / update
* several squads of pathfinders, to be painted in slightly different camo to the fire warriors (possibly far more camo like the above already painted chaps)
* 3 devilfish for a 'counter strike' or 'rapid redeployment' datasheets. currently painting them up to match the suggested colour and paint schemes in the apoca book, but with a camo edge to them.

plan is to complete the devilfish first of all to prefect the camo scheme on something BIG. then move to the troops. hopefully be posting pics over the next while, just need to get the camera to work smile.gif.
