Hey guys, long time no see. (We need a new campaign...)

Anyway, so a while ago, I read a challenge at Tau Online, seeing if anyone could make an army list that could be deployed completely from a IA: Apocalypse Manta Missile Destroyer. After reading the Apocalypse rules a few times, and letting it simmer, I came up with this list (which I love smile.gif)

Manta Deathblow Cadre Fueris
2000

HQ

Shas'o Dal'yth Castris Lar'shi Kir'quath (192)
-shas'o w/ plasma rifle, missile pod, shield generator, iridium armour, stimulant injectors, HW DC, 2 SDs

Shas'o Dal'yth Scivi Methal (142)
-shas'o w/ plasma rifle, CIB, fusion blaster, HW MT, HW DC, 1 SD

Elites

Crisis Team (182)
-shas'vre w/ ABFP, TL missile pod, HW MT, HW TL
-shas'ui w/ missile pod, burst cannon, multi-tracker x2

Crisis Team (106)
-shas'ui w/ TL missile pod, targeting array x2

Crisis Team (106)
-shas'ui w/ TL missile pod, targeting array x2

Troops

Fire Warrior Team (100)
-shas'ui w/ markerlight
-shas'la x7

Fire Warrior Team (100)
-shas'ui w/ markerlight
-shas'la x7

Fire Warrior Team (100)
-shas'ui w/ markerlight
-shas'la x7

Fire Warrior Team (100)
-shas'ui w/ markerlight
-shas'la x7

Fast Attack

Pathfinder Team (216)
-shas'ui w/ bonding knife
-shas'la w/ x7
-devilfish w/ disruption pod, 2 seeker missiles

Pathfinder Team (216)
-shas'ui w/ bonding knife
-shas'la w/ x7
-devilfish w/ disruption pod, 2 seeker missiles

Heavy Support

Hammerhead Gunship (215)
-hammerhead w/ railgun, SMS, multi-tracker, disruption pod, target lock, flechette dischargers, 2 seeker missiles

Hammerhead Gunship (215)
-hammerhead w/ railgun, SMS, multi-tracker, disruption pod, target lock, flechette dischargers, 2 seeker missiles

So, I have a list that I would love to try out, and was wondering what you guys thought about it. I also wanted any advice on how to reduce it to 1500 points. Thoughts?

Cheers!

oh thats nasty comrade, very nice.

the combination of crisis and pathfinder teams will give you plenty of fast movers plus excellent marker light 'bases' to work from. the firewarriors teams will be able to set up easiily take advantage of the marker lights already on the table. only thing is a lack of skyrays. with all those Marker lights, I'll like some skyrays to go with but with points restriction and space on a manta you'd not get them in. nice sir.

Thanks vedalslayer.

The reason I really like this is because I get both Castris and Scivi in the same list (and if you followed my cadres fluff during BL, you know why). That's what made it awesome. I made a list to fit into a manta (including broadsides in the upper deck tongue.gif) and then realized that once I took out the manta, the broadsides and the extra wargear, I almost had 2000 points. I've never been so giddy in the past few years as last night when I realized this. It has everything that Huntre Cadre Fueris is, and kicks ass to boot. Any ideas for how to get it down to 1500?

you cant reduce it to 1500 cos the formation costs 2000 so it's actually 3500-4000 (which is right for apoc)

feckin awesome list though you just need 900 to buy a manta lol

this may be a pointless answer but i think that if your gonna be playing a apocalypse game it's best to go with cammander farsight's setup of troops.

another oppinion. Kroot really help in an apocalypse game. sooner or later with the amount people included in a apocalypse game you will came to close combat, and the only thing your gonna be able to do is hide behind your battlesuits as they get killed.
