Hello All,
My name is Steve and as you might be able to tell from my screen name I live in Annapolis Maryland. I have been a Leeds United supporter ever since one of the neighborhood kids in Yorkshire England gave me a Leeds United foot charm. I lived there for several years when I was in elementary school. It was sad seeing Leeds go down but I have hopes of promotion this year. I have also been a DC United supporter since my first match at RFK (Just happened to be against Leeds Chicago may have won more Silverware but DC has won the MLS cup 4 times and are generally recognized as the top club in the league. If you think you local commentary is bad - you should hear what we have to endure on Comcast Sport Net for the DC matches...... ITS IN THE NET - ITS IN THE NET Steve in Annapolis BTW: I will remind everybody that SOCCER is not a dirty word. It is an English word, originated there, and is used quite a bit. -------------------- |

Hi. My name is Pablo and I'm an...oops wrong forum.
Grew up playing football in L.A., was frequently the only gringo on the team. Got my footie fix by watch condensed versions of EPL matches dubbed over by Mario Machado, the voice of soccer in America, or pointing the antenna south and trying to pick up a few Mexican league matches. Spent 5 years is Seattle, followed the Seattle Sounders, met Marcus Hahnemann and have been a fan of Reading FC ever since he signed up with the club. Been in Chicago for 5 years and have followed the Fire since my arrival. STH the last 2 years, and looking forward to the home opener in the house that Peter Wilt built on June 11. Steve, you're right, Chicago does have more silverware than DC, and what was the score of the last playoff match we played? I watched the NASL thrive in NY and die everywhere else. For all its faults, I give credit to the owners for learning from NASL's mistakes, and keeping MLS afloat for the last 10 years. The next 10 ought to be very interesting. I'm not an MLS apologist, but will poke holes in any unsupported negative arguments about the league. -------------------- ![]() |

Hi, Matt from New York. Longtime Chelsea supporter, since the Gullit/Vialli days. I try to make an annual pilgrimmage to London to see a match or two. This year it was Chelsea-Wigan at the Bridge, but I've been around to most of the London grounds - Chelsea away at Highbury last season, as well as Craven Cottage, Selhurst Park and Upton Park. Hopefully the next trip will get me to Manchester or Liverpool.
I've been posting for a few months on Steven and Nick's board and was encouraged to register here by a few of Steven and Nick's regulars. I'm a fairly regular listener to Graham's radio show and the 2Gs. |

Haha Twiggster. I'm used to the Chelsea abuse - bring it on. As for MLS, I'm from LA originally, so the Galaxy would be my team I suppose, though I have never liked Landycakes and don't think much of Sampson either. I'm more a fan of the Cienfuegos-era Galaxy. Can't say that I'm a close follower of the MLS, to be honest. I went to a MetroStars game last year and it was excruciatingly boring. The massive stadium with no atmosphere didn't help. |

Hi, my name is Josiah, and I live in Wellington New Zealand.
I've supported West Ham ever since we lived in East London for a brief amount of time when I was young. My Dad supported them as I grew up, and I kinda followed on from him. What a great team to inherit!!! Awesome to see us back in the Prem, and on our way to the FA Cup final too. I support DC solely because Ryan Nelsen (a NZer and on-off All Whites captain) played there for a while. -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey Crude, Any local news on how Wisconsin's native son Jay DeMerit is doing at Watford? Is part of you going to be pulling for the local boy in the playoffs? -------------------- ![]() |

Not a peep of news about him around by me, though he is from Green Bay, so maybe the papers up there are talking about him. Unless he played for Leeds, there is no way I'm hoping he plays well. It's cool to have a person from the state doing well in English footie, but Watford must fail. |

Hello, Jessie from San Antonio. Raised in Houston and have been a casual fan for years. Earliest football memory -- NASL Hurricanes (yes, Pablo I remember it too). Never officially played - soccer was one of those exotic sports that only the foreignors played. The coaches let us play a bit in between American football, basketball and track/field seasons. Avid Barca fan since visiting there in the 80s and 90s -- one of my most favorite places on earth. |

I'm Joe, I live in Maine.
Rovers fan since the 2002 World Cup due to the brilliance of Brad, and a little winger named Duff caught my eye as well. Played a bit of soccer in High School, I could read the game well, but never had the talent to act on what was or needed to happen. Earliest memories are from playing, but I also remember going to an international friendly match (I think it was a a gold cup game) in Foxboro between Ireland and the USA. Can't pinpoint the time well, but probably ~1992-1994, if I had to guess. -------------------- FYI Special G, that's US (as in the country), Rover (as in Blackburn Rovers), and ME (as in the abbreviaion for the state of Maine)
