MJ, are the t-shirts still available? Great stuff, thanks for bumping the thread.

Crude, are you looking for one of the green Never Drink Alone t-shirts? We've still got em! You can e-mail straight from the message board and the message will get to Alex, keeper of the merch.

The new kits look SWEET! We just got them yesterday for our second match of the season ... and our first win!

"Sometimes history needs a push" and that's what it got yesterday! The Pittsburgh People's Team (aka Tartan Devils FC) overcame the established Cranberry FC. You can tell from the picture above how the player formerly known as "Irish Paul" and now known as "Two Goal Moony" walked proudly away from the opposition goal as the Dutch-wanna-be squad sulked in the background.

QUOTE (Simply Red Scare)

Unbreakable team of freeborn Drunks,
Great Devil squad welded forever to stand.
Created in struggle by the will of the bottle,
United and mighty, our Tartan Devil FC land!

Let this mighty anthem be sung from hilltops, factory floors and barroom stalls in honor of the Tartan Devils FC victory over the bourgeoisie of Cranberry FC!

On April 19th Year Zero plus one, the TDFC were triumphant 2 to 1 over the invading forces of Cranberry FC. The hard fought game was a shining example of the collective at work as every Player Comrade willing, sacrificed body and dignity to earn the victory!

Though the game had the ebb and flow of a capitalist drunk on the labor of the oppressed, the result was stellar in the end. The play of Paul "The T 34 Tank" Coen earned him "Proletariat of the Match" honors as this hero of The People put in both goals for the Tartan Devils. Both Tommy "I am willing to sacrifice my nose for three points and a pint" Butler as well as the "Minister of Street Justice", James Thompson led by example as they demonstrated the true meaning of the Sickle and the Hammered!

The final of this epic battle encapsulates the revolutionary spirit of the collective over the decadent bourgeoisie singularity of the opposition. All glory to The People!

Mighty People's Team the Tartan Devils notch their second victory of the season. This time against a rebuilt Dynamo White who were only able to field 2 subs versus our full bench of Local Pub Heros!

On the first 85 degree Sunday of the season I was able to pick from 8 subs to keep our squad fresh. In addition to my first run out of the season I'm back to handling the bench.

"Its the 85th minute, I'm going in!"

Final score could have been 4 nil (dodgy clearance by the enemy keeper - linesman WAY out of position) or 5 1 as there were questionable fouls inside the box by both sides. But at least no headbutts this week.

From the grand typewriter of Chairman Simply Red Scare

Let every ear hear and every tongue sing the glory of the People’s Team! From the factory floor to the academic hall, from the construction site to the accountant’s cubicle, from the restaurant kitchen to the lawyer’s office, let all know the glory of the People’s Team!

This week, Tartan Devils Football Club continued their march of glory into the hearts of the proletariat everywhere by securing another win. The Dynamo White football club (a deceptively revolutionary sounding name… not be confused with a team concerned with revolution) came to the home of the People’s Team – Founder’s Field – and were soundly beaten 3-nil! Two goals from the Young Pioneer and one from the First Among Equals insured a solid win for the TDFC.

In goal, Keeper Comrade James channeled the late Lev Yashin, swapping a black shirt for one of People’s Red. Garnering a clean sheet, he was a wall against all onslaughts. In front of our Dear Keeper stood a rock solid revolutionary defensive force. TDFC’s Defensive Gang of Four brought down an iron curtain that neither sodomite nor imperialist could penetrate.

In pure collective style, this week’s Proletariat of the Match goes to the entire Tartan Devils Football Club. Almost every member of the team that was present played (Comrades from the bench mob included). What is more, they played like a true team.

A large part of the TDFC’s strength came from the crafty use of substitutes. These directions were made by Chairman Tony and Comrade MJ. This allowed us to, as the Dear Leader mentioned in a communiqué to the team, have something akin to a 12th man. Running the bench like a strong, Red and Black machine, direction from the Politbureau Of The Bench gave all supporters of the People’s Team something to cheer about!

Onward! Onward to the rising sun of glory, TDFC! With the People behind you, surely you cannot falter in the face of revolutionary football! We have nothing to lose but our chains! Onward! Onward to VICTORY!

Monsters of all kinds successfully destroyed!

Local pub heroes Tartan Devils FC successfully defeated Norwin Gold yesterday with a final result of 2-1. Goals were again scored by the Young Pioneer and First Among Equals.

One among us did fall but will return to the field of battle in time for the next match after the Motherland's Day break.

Proper and approved correspondence from Chairman Simply Red Scare is pending.

Football is not just a simple game.

Who knew that this classic iconography had ties to the Beautiful Game? Keepers are kinda nutty... And the Peoples art stands on it's own as well, as an instant classic weighing in at a trim 11" x 17" of hand screened goodness dressed in newsprint or card stock for $5!

Take me to TDFC merch!

I've been away from the internets for a bit. (Damn job and the threats of firings!)

The Glorious People's team Tartan Devils FC clashed in a top of league battle this past Sunday. Alas even with another blazing goal from the Young Pioneer it was not enough to top the cursed Isoplex. The match ended 1 1 and the Pub Heroes remain locked in 2nd place.

Official communique from the Chairmen:

The People's Team faced a "top of the table clash" on the artificial battlefield of Century United this week. Playing the much lauded Iceoplex FC (a squad fallen from the graces of premier proportions and into the lap of the proles) the Glorious People chose to settle for a draw in order to allow “Fascoplex” the chance to see the error of their ways. Seeing that TDFC mutually decided to play for the draw, KGB Co-Captain Adam called this a victory and a learning experience per general secret order number 1 from the Ministry of Education.

The 1-1 draw exemplified the ability of the collective to predetermine the outcome of the match before hand and then see it through. This was achieved by the play of all. From the Gang of Four at the back (with the deceptively grey haired Dear Leader) to the Red Army midfield, to the Bench Mob of the sidelines, the collective was in, as the youth say, full effect and the hizzy replaced with a less garish, economically viable and useful bunker. Chairman “Tony Zedong” was, as always, monitoring and directing from his command center. His desire to see success materializied in moments of singular thought and propaganda. In tandem with the Chairmen, Comrade Commander MJ made sure the gears of the machine that is TDFC rotated smoothly.

Again, the true collective spirit of the the Glorious People's team reigns over the brash and indignant individualism of the opponent!

The Young Pioneer scored a brilliant goal from "Karl" Mac's well placed pass. This tied the score at one after a imperialistic cross was turned into the net by the stiff winds of fascist bluster at the Glorious People's end.

After the match Agents of The People's Secret Police heard the decadent enemy complain at being held to a hard fought draw by The People's Team. The Pub Stasi is thanked for this important information. The bourgeois Iceoplex (who are an odd mix of fascists and lumpenproletariat fobs) will not get off as easy in the future. Such disrespect of the People's Team is grounds for further re-education! The People's victory cannot be denied! Power to the Pub!

UP THE DEVILS!

We're still waiting on a result from tonight but regardless we don't finish the first part of the season lower than 2nd on the table.
