It was a time of peace and prosperity, at least for William it was, seeing as he was never involved in any of the big games that seemed to go around each town. Plots against the royal family, murders, robbery. Nothing. William was as peaceful as it gets. While that was rather a good thing, he couldn't help but feel a little bored and left out. Surely someone could find some use in a brilliant engineer like himself. Oh well, maybe someday. For now, he was fine at the lake's shoreline, strolling along and watching the sunrise. It was a glorious sight. Too bad William's wife couldn't come with him to see it. It didn't feel somewhat lonely out there.
William stopped immediately when he noticed a starfish lying on the shore. He crouched down beside it, letting his boots sink into the sand, and examined the creature. It was a bright orange color and five edges. Seemed pretty useless. So William stood back up and continued his peaceful walk along the shoreline, hoping to stumble upon something with several more functions besides lying down.
