It has been twelve hundred years since the Romanians were rousted from their haven and the Volturi took their place as rulers of the Vampiric world. It has been a thousand years since the Volturi took a stand against the Children of the Moon, nearly eradicating them from the world -- a millennium has past and still these wounds fester in the hearts and minds of those unseen by mortal eyes.
It has only been seven years since the Cullens departed Forks, with Bella swollen with child, lest the Quileute Shifters seek to destroy them. It has only been seven years since Jacob was left, restless, and dissatisfied, to patrol the territory of the reservation, the invading nomads now long destroyed.
It has only been five years since the Cullens formed allies amongst the ranks of the nomads and clans, standing against the Volturi to defend Renesme on the Isle of Esme. In those five years, Renesme has blossomed, traveling with her family across the world, though now, she looks eagerly forward to seeing Forks, though saddened that the first time that she meets her grandfather it will be on his deathbed.
It has been five years of peace. But under that peace, something stirs. The grudges, not forgotten, have burned hot, and with tensions high and the church's passion stirred by the miraculous and horrendous birth of a child within their fortresses walls, all it will take is one small spark to incite the world and all those within will have to choose: to fight or to ....
