-Everything Is Your Fault-

Everything that will or has happened on Tetel'ac is because of you, and people like you. The site's future becomes the site's past, and it's all thanks to the things roleplayers and their characters have done over the years. The site has been shaped by the whimsy, the blood, sweat, and tears of everyone who has ever played onTetel'ac.

Awesome, isn't it? Because of this the history is regularly updated. However, since it stretches over many actual years, it must be kept here, in writing, for anyone jumping in, or who might have forgotten a detail.

Below is a simple timeline, with the most monumental points in red. At the end, a list of terms that should be familiar to any character living in Tetel'ac, and their definitions.

-note-

- The designation A.P. means "Ante Pax" and refers to any time before Kelyea, Fexlund and Rodan were joined under a common king.
- The designation C.P. means "Con Pax" and refers to any time after Kelyea, Fexlund and Rodan were joined under a common king.
- People and events in bold are in index at the bottom of the page.

-The Timeline-

-Ante Pax-

16 A.P. The independent nations of Fexlund and Rodan join under a similar King.

-Con Pax-

1 C.P. Kelyea joins the united kingdoms of Fexlund and Rodan; now all three agree to the joint rule of King Michel (the Strong), calling themselves the Kingdom of Tetel’ac.
26 C.P. King A’ulen takes the throne of Tetel’ac
37 C.P. King Tenri takes the throne of Tetel’ac
52 C.P. King Michel (the Cruel) takes the throne of Tetel’ac
88 C.P. King Lucian (the Tyrant) takes the throne of Tetel’ac, marrying the Lady, Loretta of Targa, and having his first and only son, Kellen LaRoux.
114 C.P. A fierce plague hits the country and many die, including the 26 year old Crown Prince, Kellen LaRoux.
114 C.P. The Church's formerly subtle "Inquisition" against magic-users and sympathizers begins to peak; many mages (particularly in west fexlund and kelyea) are put to death under various and sometimes fabricated excuses.
115 C.P. The only son of the dangerous Rhiann Du Nord, Edmund Du Nord II is sent as a child ward to join the royal family. By royal decree, Roland deGrada marries Rhiann Du Nord in an attempt to bring the dukedom back in line with the throne.
115 C.P. Civil war is already brewing, there is unrest and angst against the harsh rule of Lucian LaRoux; the rebellion is stirred by the Black Court and the Regesvard’s fracturing.
116 C.P The church's Inquisition flounders and goes underground with the assassination of Cyrus Grosvner - a final attempt by Lucian to control his people.
116 C.P At the command of Roland deGrada, Balaric deJure, "The Butcher", ceremonially murders King Lucian. There are a few skirmishes that continue between the rebels and those loyal to the fallen king. But these are soon settled by the appointment of a new king.
116 C.P. King Immanuel Augustine, a fair and respected warrior and noble has his royal bloodline uncovered by certain sources, that now push him towards the crown. He reluctantly steps up to lead the country and becomes a popular king, fiercely moral and impervious to the threats of the Black Court. He takes away the Duchess Rhiann's dukedom of Esquinol and dissolves it into Fexlund and Rodan. His wife is the Lady Maria, and his first son, Apollo, second son, Ezekiel, and first daughter, Ambrosia, are already born.
118 C.P. Aknatar starts to rise up against Tetel'ac.
120 C.P. After only a couple of years fighting against the forces of Tetel’ac, Aknatar concedes and now pays tribute to the crown though they continue to act fiercely independent.
121 C.P. Prince Aurelius, the third son, is born, and Lady Maria sadly passes away shortly after.
133 C.P. King Immanuel marries the Lady Sophia.
137 C.P. After the scandal of having a male lover, Prince Aurelius is married swiftly to cover his public face. The marriage does not last, and is soon annulled.
137 C.P. King Immanuel falls ill and fails to fully recover. Elsewhere, the disinherited Lord Edmund Du Nord II marries the Duchess Cassandra DeWinter of Fexlund.
138 C.P. Immanuel is supposedly murdered by Mailor deGrada, the son of his supposed most loyal subject, Roland deGrada. Aurelius, the prince flees from the public, in fear and distress, into the countryside of Tetel'ac.
138 C.P. Following his father's death, the already mentally unstable Ezekiel seemingly snaps, lashing out and killing his brother, the crown-prince, Apollo.
138 C.P. Frustrated with the failures of past kings and unsettled by his own son's recent death, the Duke Roland deGrada stages a coup on the capital, allowing Thanos Caras, to assassinate Ezekiel. Wielding his power and popularity, Roland crowns himself King of Tetel'ac but does not coronate his wife, Rhiann.
138 C.P. Balaric de Jure is made the Duke Of Aknatar under the pseudonym "Eadgar Nast" and is sent in with an army to enforce martial law. The tribes briefly struggle but are silenced. Eventually he reveals his true identity and marries the daughter of a powerful sheikh.
138 C.P. King Roland is granted an annulment from Rhiann (now Rhiann Danum)

-Terms Index-
In order of their appearance:

Lucian LaRoux
- King of Tetel'ac, 88C.P. - 116C.P.
Iron-fisted tyrant, known for his ruthless decision-making and bankrupting tax demands. Overthrown in 116C.P. after the revolution.
Loretta of Targa
- Queen of Tetel'ac, 89C.P. - 116C.P.
Often considered "the people's Queen", Loretta stood as a much loved yet much tormented Queen of Tetel'ac. The garden at the royal castle was hers - a hobby she tended to religiously. She was killed beside her husband after the revolution.
Kellen LaRoux
- Crown Prince of Tetel'ac, 96C.P. - 114C.P.
A much loved prince of Tetel'ac whose life was cut unfairly, though perhaps fortunately, short by the plague.
The Plague
~113-115~
Brought to Tetel'ac on ships from foreign lands, spreading through Fexlund in all directions but traveling no farther than the Caine mountains. Considered by many Aknatari at the time to have been a curse upon this "infidel nation". Akin to Earth's Septicemic Plague; the death was a terrible one, moving swiftly across the kingdom before dying off.
Rhiann Du Nord
now, Rhiann deGrada
- Duchess of Rodan, 115C.P. - present
Descended from the Danums, a line thrown into exile by Lucian LaRoux for their anti-Lucian views, Rhiann was married to the Duke of the former Duchy, Esquiol. She had one son by him before he mysteriously died; it is widely assumed that Rhiann had him killed. She ruled the Duchy on her own for some time before she was married to Roland deGrada and soon thereafter her Duchy was liquidated in the "redrawing" by Immanuel.Suspected head of the plotter's ring, the Black Court.
Edmund Du Nord II
- Duke of Fexlund, 137C.P. - present
Son of Rhiann du Nord and Edmund Du Nord I, Edmund was set to inherit the dukedom of Esquiol until his mother's marriage to Roland had him disinherited - and soon after the liquidation of the Duchy left his position invalid. Raised, for the most part, under the hand of Loretta LaRoux (he was sent to the castle when he was young to be informally "adopted" by the royal family). In 137 he married Cassandra DuNord, the hereditary Duchess of Fexlund.
Roland deGrada
- King of Tetel'ac, 138C.P. - present
- Duke of Rodan, 114C.P. - present
Head of the Regesvard by birthright, Roland was left in a powerful position after the reign of Immanuel left the Regesvard untethered. He had lead the revolution against the LaRoux on evidence that he was not the "true king" and placed Immanuel on the throne. No longer bound by the economic resrictions Lucian had placed on the Regesvard, Roland was free to act in opposition to the crown. When Immanuel did not "work out" as hoped and after the traumatising death of his own son, Roland used his influence to gain the throne for himself in 138C.P.
The Church
~300A.P. - present
Originally a religion native to the devout of Kelyea, "the church" began to slowly integrate its way across Tetel'ac around 50C.P. Today many more people align themselves with the church, though still more cling to their own traditional beliefs.
Inquisition, The
~90C.P. - 115C.P.
Though still carried out in secret by small groups, the official inquisition ended in 115C.P. with the death of Cyrus Grosvner (though in truth it was his wife, Jezebel Grosvner, who was the responsible party). Portraying to its followers that the plague was a punishment from god for the sin of tolerating magic, the church led thousands in a brutal though relatively contained (in Kelyea) crusade against mages. Many mages of all ages and genders were murdered, often with fabricated reason and against Lucian's law.
The Civil War
alternatively, "The Revolution"
~114C.P - 116C.P
An effort constructed jointly by Rhiann du Nord and Roland deGrada in the early years of their marriage. Rising from a pre-existing unrest amoung the nobles and peasants, the war was an inevitable byproduct of Lucian's cruel reign, hard taxes, and confusion amoung the masses in thanks, much, to the church's peaking Inquisition.
Cyrus Grosvner
Duke of Kelyea, ? - 116C.P
The father of Kelyea's modern navy and the man who thrust it finally into its place as a marine power. Known in his time for his short stature and mild manner, he was best associated with the wine his estate turned out for many years and the overbearing demeanor of his wife. He was killed in 116C.P. by the Regesvard on order from King Lucian LaRoux on grounds of treason thanks to the Church's Inquisition, a project that was both illegal and tied strongly to his religious stand.
Balaric de Jure
alternatively, "The Butcher"
Duke of Aknatar, 138 C.P. - present
A former Regesvard knight , Balaric de Jure became a Black Court Operative in the days of the Revolution. Unaware of the Black Court's hand in the assassination of his family, de Jure blamed their deaths on the king and swore for vengeance. He later dealt the final blow to Lucian. He spent many years after the war in reclusion, haunted by the deeds he'd done and the rumors of his ruthless slaughters. He was recently raised to a Duke by the king and sent in to "tame" Aknatar.
Immanuel Augustine
- Fexlund Lord, ? - 116 C.P.
- King of Tetel'ac, 116 C.P. - 138 C.P.
Lucian LaRoux's second cousin and a once respected night, Immanuel was used by the Regesvard as a LaRoux-replacement. Easy enough to manipulate, yet mild enough that manipulation wasn't entirely necessary, the Regesvard used Immanuel as an interim as they prepared to mold Apollo, his heir, into a king. For all appearance, Immanuel was unexpectedly slain by Mailor deGrada.
Apollo Augustine
- Crown Prince of Tetel'ac, 116C.P. - 138C.P.
Immanuel Augustine's first-born and the Regesvard's hopes for a well-balanced, strong but easily-managed king. He was murdered in 138 by his brother, Ezekiel.
Ezekiel Augustine
Immanuel's second son. went mad in 138 and killed Apollo in a fit of rage.
Ambrosia Augustine
Aurelius
The youngest son of Immanuel. A homosexual, Aurelius' secret was found-out by the Black Court and he was blackmailed. In 137 C.P. he is married off to cover the "rumors", but the marriage does not last. In 138, following his father's death, Aurelius flees into the countryside. He is assumed missing or dead.
Mailor deGrada
The son of Roland deGrada and Rhiann du Nord, Mailor would have been the next duke of Rodan if he hadn't been killed during what appears to have been his assassination of Immanuel Augustine. His part in the king's death was doubted by some, including Roland deGrada and Rhiann Du Nord, but many believed that Mailor was following in the footsteps of his revolutionary father.
Thanos Caras
- Duke of Kelyea, 116 C.P. - present
Made the Duke of Aknatar when he was fourteen during Immanuel's "re-drawing." His father a mere Lord, had been a firm supporter of LaRoux, but Immanuel Augustine had been fond of the Caras family and, in need of replacing the Grosvner family, he picked them.

This is Tetel’ac, where the women are capricious, the ale is usually tepid, and life is hard. Prince or pauper, the world is a dangerous place to play and the game of politics is far from voluntary. Whether you live in the gentle tropics, lush forests, harsh mountains, or expansive desert, every day is sure to spell adventure for those who live under the intruding thumb of the king, or amoung the hidden eyes of oh so many spies. With a kingdom on the brink of yet a second revolution, the future is a fragile thing indeed.

Insurrection

The Duke of Kelyea and his Count, Isaiah, have defeated the Black Court at Villa Cari, leaving Rhiann Danum dead and her son, Edmund Du Nor (Duke of Fexlund) who was present at the battle under suspicious circumstances, sent home to his wife.
Meanwhile, the wedding in Aknatar between the Duke, Balaric de Jure, and his wife, Najla Mu'awiyah (daughter of sheik Faris Mu'awiyah), closed without much fuss.
However, on the way back to Fexlund the king and most of his entourage is holed up in Rodan as they wait for a pass to be cleared of the early snows.
The Countess Helen of Irse has sent a call to arms throughout Aknatar, hoping to rouse the passions of the people there against their duke and king, and in response, the duke has closed the border, hoping to keep his problems manageable.
Have the seeds of revolution been sewn anew? Or will they be plucked up before their roots have set in?
