I'm wondering where I can find the dimensions for the turning template you guys use at the Con of the North.

I'll measure one of the templates and get the dimensions posted here for you.

Below is a photo of the turning templates we use for Axles and Alloys. The longest side measures around 5" and the three shorter sides measure approximately 2" (give or take, these were hand cut out of plasticard from a traced template).
The key thing with the turning templates is to make sure the turning angle is 45 degrees (called out in the photo, although now I notice that I drew my semi circle in the wrong angle), so if you have that angle correct then the template can technically be whatever length you find convenient. Having the 45 degree angle allows you to easily see the maximum turn you can make. Of course you can intentionally "drift" over 45 degrees and up to 90 degrees when turning, but remember that doing so will automatically induce a skid.
The other handy thing about the templates is that they can also be used to easily check your car's firing arcs since they go out to 45 degrees to either side from the direction the weapon mount is pointed (front, rear, or to either side).
Hope that helps!

Yes that is great! I played some A&A at the FFG event center this weekend with a few friends. Now I want to start customizing my vehicles.
Do you ever play any of the scenarios or just free for all?

We’ve typically played mostly free-for-all type games. However, we did recently experiment with a “Death Race” type scenario for Axles & Alloys that had a racetrack running through dense urban terrain and the drivers trying to make laps. Much destruction and craziness ensued. We took a few pictures and should hopefully have those posted soon.

That sounds like fun. I want to do a scenario based on Mad Max: Road Warrior where one team has a tanker truck and some light vehicles while the other team has a mix of vehicles. The tanker must make so many laps to win.

If anyone is looking for turning templates, a local Twin Cities company makes nice wood and acrylic ones with inch markings along the edges. http://store.zekimstudios.com/products.php...sg1t2gekeq421c6

I contacted them and they quickly created a design. A 4 pack for $4.95 is a good deal I think. I'm happy with the results. If they only helped my driving.
