Title: Rush
Description: Symphia and Evan

Symphia - November 28, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
Warning klaxons sounded as a lone Talon-class fighter raced toward the hanger shields. The blast shutter began closing and the bluish-white flare from the Talon's twin thrusters turned to crimson as the single-man fighter's afterburners kicked in. It executed a perfect roll and squeezed past the blast shutter at the last second. It landed roughly and landed, skidding to a stop.

A number of marines trained their weapons on the small star-fighter as the canopy opened and a pressure-suit clad figure stepped from it. The pilot removed her helmet and shoulder length blond-hair spilled out of it. "I was expecting a warm welcome, but nothing this extravagant," she said, pulling a 10mm snub pistol from a holster on her hip and firing, killing one of the marines before disappearing entirely.

The warning klaxons again began sounding, and the in house announcement made her smile. "Intruder Alert!" She ducked into a store room and changed out of the Mk. VII pressure-suit and into her normal clothes, pulling on her cape and pointed witch's hat with a smile. A few bullets floated in the air before her, having drifted out of their case. She smiled and loaded them into their appropriate weapon before stepping out of the small room and smiling.

Symphia knew her strength would would be amplified by 100 times in zero gravity. Everyone on the station wore magnetic deck shoes to keep from floating around. Sym, however had large electromagnets installed in her boots for aiding in scaling elevator shafts at TXS's HQ. It would be unusual for her at first, but she'd get used to it fairly quickly.

She kicked the door to another storage room off its sliding track and sent it flying into the room, where it struck the wall with a clang. I wonder what TXS is hiding up here anyway... she thought, ducking into hiding before a pair of patrols could spot her.

Lock-Os - November 29, 2008 06:13 PM (GMT)
Evan yawned as he walked though the halls, warning sirens blared a constant warning about some kind of intruder. The patrols moved about with a sense of urgency. People seemed nervous, and overall a sense of panic set in. Running around with our heads chopped off won't solve anything. Just got to stay calm and alert.

It wasn't long before he walked by the storage closet. Hearing the commotion inside, he shrugged. Probably two lovebirds... maybe I could take a peek... Evan's hand drifted to the handle to the door, but then moved away from it.

"Nah, not worth it", moving away from the door and heading to his post near the high security station that protected the spacial cargo of the base. He wasn't about to bother two people trying to love each other, he would want anyone to do that to him.

Symphia - November 29, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
Symphia looked back out into the hallway and smiled upon seeing it was clear. She took a run and jumped, her magnetized boots leaving the floor. She sailed through the air and laughed softly, enjoying the feeling of zero gravity, that is until she collided with a wall and grunted. It was fun while it lasted... she thought wearily.

With a thump, her boots connected to the floor and she began heading toward the stations reactor. She was intent crippling TXS's naval station, stealing a Minotaur and delivering it personally to the CEO's office, preferably through a window.

The gun mage rounded a corner and bumped into someone, causing her to immediately draw her shotgun and fire the chambered shell before diving around the corner seeking cover.

Lock-Os - November 30, 2008 04:54 AM (GMT)
Evan closed his eyes before bumbling into someone. He instinctively lay flat against the wall, hopping the person wouldn't be stopped for long. This saved him from getting a face full of lead from the shell. Evan sighed at that lucky doge, yet when he turned to pull the section alarm he found that it had been disabled by the shell meant for him. His comm unit was under repair as well.

Not to mention that person he bumped into was apparently gone as well. Evan didn't get to see the person as well, just some pointy hat.

"Great... how in the hell did some resistance fighter get up here?"

The TXS heavy moved behind one of the bulkheads that were sparsely separated among the hallways of the base. They were not needed as much for actual support of the structure, but more or less for isolating blocks of the base if something like an explosion exposed the base to the reaches of space.

Drawing his rifle, out, he took aim at the corner that he came around from, she seemed to be heading in that direction. but he didn't know for sure. After a few seconds of training his rife on the spot were she might emerge, he moved out from behind cover, weapon at the ready, to move in and take her out. He couldn't afford to lose track of her, and somebody needed to try to wear her out.

Hopping his armor would adsorb any attack that might come, he rounded the corner and raised his gun, firing if he saw anyone with a really odd pointy hat with a shotgun pointed at him. Not like anyone would match THAT description on this base.

Symphia - November 30, 2008 05:10 AM (GMT)
Symphia knelt on the floor, her cape pulled around herself for protection from grenades, but when none came, she waited as footsteps grew closer, then passed her. She praised her small stature and stood carefully, sneaking around the corner, completely uninterested in whoever she'd shot at. The gun mage had obviously missed her mark, but that didn't matter to her.

-----

"Alpine! Did you see which way the intruder went?" a marine asked him, a small squad in tow behind him.
"I heard that it was Subject Omega herself," one of the marines said to his companion.
"No way! That girl that came out of the Talon wasn't Omega! She didn't use a shotgun to kill Andrews," his companion replied.
"But she had blond hair and dark green eyes..." he countered.
"Will you two cram it!?" their commanding officer snarled, shutting the two men up instantly.

-----

The blueprints said it would be somewhere around here... Sym thought as she arrived at room with a heavy blast door and powered security locks. She affixed a door-buster charge to it and detonated it, only causing the heavy door to dent. Well, that's likely to have drawn some unwanted attention... she thought, jumping into a laundry cart filled with dirty laundry.

It's the oldest trick in the book for a reason, she thought with an evil smile.

"Alpine! Did you see which way the intruder went?"

"Not exactly, But I know she seemed to head towards the center of the base." Evan responded, He could tell that she went past him.

"I heard that it was Subject Omega herself,"

"No way! That girl that came out of the Talon wasn't Omega! She didn't use a shotgun to kill Andrews,"

"But she had blond hair and dark green eyes..."

"Will you two cram it!?"

Even Evan was a bit startled by the commanding officer. But quickly regained his senses, "If you ask me, it could very well be Omega. For starters, I did see the attacker with the same witch hat as her." He started walking, then running as he soon realized What could very well be going on.

Signaling the two marines to follow him, he turned to the commanding officer, "Secondly, only she would be suicidal enough to attack this place all by herself." Then before he could move Evan felt an explosion and instinctively knelled down.

Quickly getting up, he gauged the explosion to come from the Secure storage area where TXS kept it's secrets, "Lastly, nobody in the Resistance carries explosives with them at all times, except for her. I'm taking these two with me, get all reserve and off duty forces over to their on the double, but keep all regular forces at their stations. This just might be a diversion."

Appearing at the storage area, Evan saw the dented door, judging by the time of the explosion and now. Omega might have left the room, but it wasn't too likely. Looking around, the only prominent cover was a laundry cart. If he shot it and nobody was inside, he would get in trouble, but it seemed like a reasonable bet.

Yet he hesitated, has she really in their? did she booby trap it knowing they would look in their? Turning to the two men at the door, they got their weapons ready to intercept anybody trying to jump out. Looking around the room, he found a laundry chute. Evan's guess was that either they had a bio lab behind that door, or that it was just a covenant place to put a laundry chute.

Lining up to the chute, he had the other two open the door to the chute as he rammed the cart towards the chute. it didn't take more than a few seconds to push the cart to the door, the momentum of the cart causing all the laundry to go flying out of the cart and though the specialty designed door. A feat possible due to the 0-g environs. Stepping back from the cart, he moved the now empty cart away from the door. Shrugging, he moved out of the room, "She probably got away. You two, stay here and hold this room. I'll go and check the outside to see if she escaped from this room."

Evan walked out of the room and closed the door behind him. Where are you Omega? I won't allow you to harm anyone else.

Symphia - December 1, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
Symphia forced herself to not yell in surprise the card was upended into the laundry chute. She stopped herself partway down by bracing her boots against was walls. The laundry, which wasn't being held onto by anything in particular, fell down the chute, pulled a light vacuum, she however, made her way back up to the chute's door and pushed on it lightly, opening it a crack.

Outside there was a group of confused looking soldiers. Behind her there was another access door to the chute, which she pushed open a little. Inside there was a single soldier looking around a bio lab. She chose the single soldier over the group. She kicked the hatch out, holding herself up with her hands.

"Looking for me?" she shouted, firing several rounds blindly as she flew across the room. The gun mage hit the floor, rolling until her boots contacted the floor with a thump. Symphia stood slowly, looming up to her full height, shotgun in hand. She pumped it and ejected an empty shell with an evil smile.

"Looking for me?"

Evan barely had time to react as several shots flew past him. This time however, one nicked his shoulder armor and another hit dead on his cheat armor. This wasn't good. She was now on her toes, and ready to attack him.

Moving behind a steel crate for cover he looked for another position to move to for cover that would allow him to set a better view of the situation. Come on, their has got to be a way to see her. Looking around the corner, he saw a stair-like stack of boxes.

Evan squatted down so that his legs were tense and ready to give the maximum amount of thrust when he would make the dash. Here goes nothing.

Launching himself from his protective cover he darted to the stair of boxes and ran up them, jumping off of the last one. He somehow gained enough momentum for his magnetic boots to disengage. and thus he ballisticly arced to the other side of the room. While airborne, he turned around and saw Omega.

"Take this Hellspawn!" He didn't have enough time to aim, but he unloaded his shotgun shell loaded in the bottom half of the rifle along with a burst of 5 rounds from his rifle. It was a fairly actuate barrage of lead from above. This however was at the cost of Evan's poor landing on the opposite wall, While he did hit it feet first, he wasn't expecting the impact so soon. This knocked him around a bit and it took him a while to regain balance, this also left him exposed without cover on the side of the wall slowly sliding down.

An easy target.

Symphia - December 16, 2008 04:59 AM (GMT)
Symphia pulled her cape around herself and felt the familiar thump of bullets against it. She stood and walked over to stunned marine. "Your technique was good, but you failed to take the momentum given to you by your armor into account," she said, gripping him by his armor and helping him to his feet.

"Don't bother trying to strike me at this range, in zero-g, my strength is amplified significantly," she cautioned, leaving him stand there. The gun mage walked away before turning, her shotgun still in hand. "So are you ready to continue?" she asked, standing about three meters away from him.

It was rare for her to play with her enemies, but she was having fun. She holstered her shotgun, knowing it was empty and drawing one of her .357's and smiling. It had been a long time since she'd fired it, it was time to remind her opponents that she was just as dangerous with hand

"Your technique was good, but you failed to take the momentum given to you by your armor into account,"

Evan regained his balance after being dragged up to his feet by Symphia, "Don't bother trying to strike me at this range, in zero-g, my strength is amplified significantly. So are you ready to continue?"

Evan loaded his gun once more, "Yeah, I'm ready. Lets keep on fighting." He slowly looked over his opponent and awaited her next move. Evan tensed up waiting for her next move, this fight was already tight and draining. He had never quite felt like this in a long time.

Evan acted first, firing two shots at Symphia before backing up and kneeling down to prepare for Sym's reaction.

Symphia - January 22, 2009 03:07 AM (GMT)
The shots came faster than she'd anticipated, both of them struck the bulletproof vest she wore. She dodged back behind a lab table, firing as she went, finally skidding to a stop and picking the slugs out of the vest. That hurt... gravity's gone here... .357 won't do me any good... she thought, reloading the revolver, then drawing a 10mm snub pistol, a weapon designed for zero-g.

She stood up and fired over the lab table she was using as a barrier. The loud gunshots reverberated around the large room and she turned her attention to the large window in the room. She only had a few rounds left her snub pistol and the glasteel was likely tempered and carried a plasteel emergency filler in it.

She holstered the firearm and pulled out a brick of C4. She worked it until it was sticky and stuck it around the HE with a detonator before throwing it against the window. "See you later, TXS scum!" she shouted, making a run fore the door before detonating the C4HE. The large glasteel window was blown out into space and warning klaxons began blaring.

"Warning! Pressure loss detected! Sealing off Lab 23-B in 30 seconds!" a computerized in house voice said.

Lock-Os - January 22, 2009 04:36 AM (GMT)
Some of the bullets when over Evans head, almost grazing his hair, but two did hit his armor, causing him to wince in a short lived pain as the armor distributed the force of the impact across his chest.

By the time the snub pistol was fired he got behind some cover of a crate, although the shots made him move further away from the edge, "Shit, She's a literal arsenal on two legs, I wonder if that myth about her carrying C4 with her all the time is true." He pooped out on the other side of the cover to hopefully get an edge on her, only to see proof of that myth with the C4 come true.

"See you later, TXS scum!"

Evan watched the graceful ballistic trajectory of the ball of C4 as it flew over to the window in seemingly slow motion. Evan took cover as the explosion knocked out the window. "Frack! The one myth that I wish was busted..."

"Warning! Pressure loss detected! Sealing off Lab 23-B in 30 seconds!"

Sym was already out of the room when the alarms went off and the air started to quickly evacuate. Almost on instinct, he looked for the emergency back-up shutters that every room with a window had, it was easy to find, a sizable orange and black striped leaver.

Problem was is that it was on the other side of the room. He needed to act fast and get their fast.

Jumping onto the wall behind him, he kicked off it and turned around emptying his rifle onto the wall he just kicked off of and holding to to his center of gravity to give him even more speed. He was able to get their in a matter of seconds, and was able to kick the lever down, activating the back-up shutters to seal off the room from space and also releasing a fair amount of O2 via some chemical process from some of the vents that were on top of the room. Thing was though, Evan was effectively trapped. This system was meant to give some sense of security, although even if the room wasn't going to collapse or run out of air, the main override to open the doors was in the command room. With Sigma trashing the rest of the station right now, odds were that he was stuck in this room for the duration. The oxygen supply was meager though… meant only to last three hours with a room full of people, and that's if the seal was perfect, not to mention it was diluted and thinner than normal.

Evan slowly sat down and sighed, the two men that were left outside were probably dead by now. And the base was in an uproar. Still though, he smirked a bit as he took a sip from his bottle of alcohol, mostly to calm his nerves to prevent over-using the oxygen, "Well, I at least survived fighting another daemon. I just hope I was able to buy some time to increase the security."

Relaxing against the wall, Evan was quickly overcome by exhaustion. This fight took a lot out of him, even if he could escape and chase after Sym, the fact his body slowed up kicked his whole biological systems to recovery mode.

In other words, he was worn, tired, but glad he fought his hardest to protect TXS yet again.
