Sadly i have Windows XP so i can't play this game :( :( :(

RaymanGold22 - February 13, 2012 10:56 PM (GMT)
Rayman Forever was cool. But I enjoy Rayman Gold much more with the full music tracks :D
The "rayman by his fans" levels were mostly the same template with a few changes... I didn't really enjoy them, mostly was interested in how the template was designed.

One thing which *was* cool from Rayman Forever, was the rayman 2 fridge magnet which I still have.

Let me say that for me that is the less important part of the game i think :lol: .

Sorry for topic bumping but i'll ask you something i've always been searching for, now for several years and I can't wait anymore...

I have got Rayman by his fans + rayman 60 new levels (i got all that with Rayman original and Rayman Designer on my "Rayman colelctor" CD) :)
I want them to work, i'd really love.
I remember that 2 years ago I've tryied to open the games with hard manipulations of Dosbox but the game is too fast (unplayayble. 1 second in real life equals 100 seconds in-game). Even using all the features of Dosbox to reduce the framerate, it dosen't change anything and now I want them to work proprely, like in old times, when I was a kid and when I had win95 and win98...

To tell you how much I'd love to play them again, I've installed Windows 95 and 98 on my PC by virtualisation using VirtuakPC and VirtualBox. The problem is that it dosen't work very well either. I'm really out of ideas guys, and I'm very frustrated to keep waiting, I want them back, and I want them to work as fine as Rayman Designer or Rayman original...
I'm calling to all the knownledge of you all guys...it's enough now !

RayFan9876 - April 1, 2012 08:21 PM (GMT)
I know you said that you've tried everything, but have you tried massively reducing your CPU cycles in DosBox?

I have same problem... :( That why I use my old 98 computer to play them.

PS.
Have you tried patches?

DromEd - April 2, 2012 04:28 PM (GMT)
Yes I tryied to reduce CPU cycles but it didn't change anything.
Also, there is not any patches for these games, or I don't know about these.

There are patches for Rayman Gold and Rayman Designer.

DromEd - April 2, 2012 08:37 PM (GMT)
I don't care this,I think you didn't even read at least one of my previous messages... <_<

Terminapor - April 2, 2012 11:24 PM (GMT)
You can install Rayman by his fan + 60lvl using the Designer patch :P

Thats what I just meant... <_<

DromEd - April 3, 2012 04:03 PM (GMT)
You mean that I can use these patches to install these 2 games with the rayman designer patch ? I didn't know about it, and anyway, How do I proceed ? Because it keep installing Rayman Designer files so, how to make it working for rayman by his fans or rayman 60 new levels ?

Just try combining them, and use logic when doing so.

Terminapor - April 3, 2012 11:15 PM (GMT)
Ahem, if my memory don't trick me, you have to modify the dosbox.conf file, in order to change the CD path (from X:\ to X:\rayfan, something like that)

DromEd - April 4, 2012 07:05 AM (GMT)
So guys, if I understand well all what you say I need to (in order) :

1) Install the rayman designer patch where I want to install rayman by his fans (or 60 new levels)
2) i'll install afer the patch, the true game itself (rayfan or ray60) in the directory located on step 1).
3) I need to check then, the dosbos file and edit it for it returns as X:\rayfan.
(Is X supposed to be my harddisk or my CD drive ?)

Did I miss something ? Am I wrong somewhere ? Thanks for hekping me guys anyway :rolleyes:

Terminapor - April 4, 2012 04:43 PM (GMT)
No, don't install the true game, just the Designer patch
X is your CD Drive Letter

Then it should actually be X:\Kit for designer / gold, and X:\rayman for the original one

DromEd - April 5, 2012 03:24 PM (GMT)
So, I install the rayman designer patch where I want my rayfan (or 60 new levels) to be installed, then when it's done, I just have to edit the file, so in my case I writte "K:\Fan" and...that's all I need ? It look a bit strange to me :P B)

DromEd - April 11, 2012 04:34 PM (GMT)
I tryied what I'm saying above and this dosen't work. Dosbox won't even run anymore (a window show up and close immediatly)

Raymanforever2007 - July 12, 2015 12:37 PM (GMT)
Windows XP IS NOW OBSOLETE. You may have the interest to run the game in Windows7 64bit.

To run "Rayman by His Fans" in Rayman Forever CD in Windows7 64bit, try this.

1. Copy the whole folder "FAN" in game CD to the HDD scuh as;
c:Program Files(x86)\Ubisoft\FAN

2. Then copy Dosbox v0.74 files dosbox.exe SDL.dll and SDL_net.dll into the folder;
c:Program Files(x86)\Ubisoft\FAN

3. Make dosbox.conf file with notepad and save it into;

c:Program Files(x86)\Ubisoft\FAN

Lines in dosbox.conf file are like below;

NOTE: H is the CD-rom drive letter in my PC, if yours is different please edit it.
