This is the first game our current DM has ever run. She made up the world herself, too.
So, please, let us know what you think! Also, do you like the blow by blow descriptions of the fights? Or do you prefer the shorter summaries like I did for the Korallin campaign? |

I'm enjoying the campaign so far. After Donald's combat-light (though no less fun) campaign, it's nice to do a bit more thumping.
I am not sure if the challenge-level of the combats has been appropriate. I seem to remember reading somewhere that "major" combats should require the party to utilize some percentage of their resources. I don't know where I read that, but we haven't found ourselves in any combat scenario where I really thought "Wow, someone just might bite the dust here." Of course, some of that may be due to luck of the roll. The tide of battle against the sorceress would have probably been quite different if her charm had worked on Telran. Hmm, thinking about it, it probably would have been affected if that other beefy guard had thought to step away from his queen's escape tunnel. It's hard to say. I am not a huge fan of the blow-by-blows. I would be satisified with a higher level "Telran and Calixto drop the big guy, Zannamar and Ranli take out the other two" or something along those lines. Or even a final tally: Party vs 5 kobolds and two beef kobolds Calixto: 2 kobolds, helped with one beef Telran: 2 kobolds, one beef Zannamar: 1 kobold, helped with one beef. Ranli: kept the good guys breathing. Or something along those lines. Fumbling and crits are worth noting, but general blows probably not so much. Just my thoughts.... -------------------- There's something fishy going on around here....

Noted on the challenge ratings. I do underestimate all of you, I think, but then I am still feeling my way through the DM process.
I definitely wish that the sorceress thing had worked out better--it was definitely a bad roll scenario, although the time factored into my decision-making process as well (I don't work so well at 2 in the morning anymore! Thanks for the thoughts..... -------------------- Cheli
