General Appearence:

A typical Bennett appearance is, cool, calm collected and foraying disturbingly in between scruffy and neat. Perhaps because of his job, or perhaps more pure laziness than anything else. Then again, he has been known for spending hours working on a look, then sleeping rough on an office floor/doorstep/back of a van, and turning up the same state.

His hair is in the group generally defined as 'because of a lot of work'. Just from the style, it's clear he spends perhaps hours at a time making it work. He would of course deny the accusations, but that is beyond the point. Bed head comes close to a discription, but no amount of movement in sleep could create such a style, whatever he says. His hair is naturally black and, as with most naturally black hair, is generally a mix of browns, rather than purely black. Saying that, it is not unknown for colours to be intermixed with the natural dark colours, although this is far more unusual in recent years. His eyes are a dark shade of blue, somewhere between cyan and midnight, with thin, yet ultimately expressive eyebrows.

Benn could never be called skinny, although he could never be fat, either. He sits in the comfortable catagory in between the two, perhaps closer to thin than anything else.
Perhaps he isn't the greatest looking man in the world, but he definatly has something. Be is that twinkly eyed smile, or the odd flick to his hair (the kind that in former years could have been called the boy band look), the 25 year old has a look all his own.

Contrary to his personality's dictation, Benn is very critical of his appearence. Though braces have fixed his teeth and teenage acne has faded, he still sees himself as imperfect and below average.

Part of his nature is an undeniable need to help other people.He'd give his last rolo to the first person that asked for it and buy a drink for somebody who fell close to him, whether or not it was his fault. Despite the nice qualities, Benn is something of a bastard when he feels like it, or when he's having a bad day. When he's in a fight, he'll use every ounce of...everything he's got to win. He isn't much of a fighter, prefering to rely on tactics and thought, but when people end up with an elbow in their ear, the facts start to become clouded. Both metaphoricly and phsyicly, Bennett will not give up.

Intelligent and witty, Bennett has an answer for everything and a quip for every comeback, not that he often allows himself to say them. He seems to enjoy everything he does, without even a hint of negativity against anybody. Of course, that's the outer Benn. The inner Benn takes things with a little less humor than the cover boy. While he'll take criticism directed towards himself lightly, insults or anything of the sort directed at people he knows or likes will not be brushed off so easily. While this can be seen as a good quality, Bennett doesn't have a large amount of control over his anger and often won't think twice about giving the perpetrator a black eye.

Bennett has quite a sarcastic streak, one that probably won't wear off as he grows. It hasn't yet. He also doesn't seem to have much self control when it comes to things like arguments or practical jokes. Arguments usually end in complete submission, or violence, without a lot of variation. This is mostly because of Bennett's complete hatred of arguments, anything that gets them over with quickly is a plus. It is just to the misfortune of the world that he found fists more effective than words.

More than anything else, Bennett is a thrill seeker. Anything that gets the blood rushing in his veins and the adrenaline pounding in his ears, he wants to do. As a result, he doesn't often think of his own personal safety; although, strangely he considers other people's safety as a given.

Bennett is an analytical thinker and unafraid (and often unaware) of risks.

As a seer, he can 'see' up to three weeks into the future. Although he can see further, the 'images' become more like feelings, vague and unclear. It is not unknown for Bennett to see only part of a vision, that sometimes only makes sense afterwards. This can often happen to events in the near future, as well, which has resulted in his personal dubbing of the skill as 'Spidey senses'.

In some cases, he has been known to see into the past; this is more likely to be in feelings and thoughts, rather than actual images. With research, he has come to realise that some objects, or places, have events imprinted onto them, from the people who used it. The result is often inconclusive, as only extreme events, such as murders, or extreme emotions are imprinted.

History:
Alvin and Lorena were made for each other, everybody said so. They said so, every time they looked adoringly into each other's eyes, as young lovers are generally said to do. It wasn't long before they were married. Alvin was an army officer, likely to pick up the small family and move them to wherever he was posted. Although he was away often, he took care of Lorena and their children better than any man on the force. They had been together for six years when Cornelius was born, on a cool day in Russia. Now with four children (the twins Olive and Karlos, as well as Francis and the new baby), Alvin was distraught when he had to move once again and leave his family for a long stint. After moving to England and managing to spend a month with his new son, Alvin was shipped out. Lorena was overwhelmed by the demands of her children and simply...ran. She dropped the children off at a neighbour's house and they never saw her again. To this day, Olive insists her mother's last words were not of apology, but a warning to be good and to take care of 'Lius. She insists that the entire time, Bennett had watched Lorena, as if he had known everything that was going to happen. Which is, of course, total rubbish. Babies of that age can barely focus, let alone know what is going on around them, but Olive has always stood by her story.

The nieghbour did indeed take care of the children, until Alvin returned home in a state of panic. A nationwide search for Lorena was launched, but she was never found. Alvin, however, took a desk job and remained in England, both to be there for his children and in the hope that Lorena would one day return.

Like his wife, Alvin was overwhelmed by the children and enlisted the aid of Lorena's sister, Jane. Jane raised the Bennett's like they were her own children, with the help of Alvin. Cornelius Bennett had an uneventful childhood, filled with the usual cuts, bruises and broken bones that inflict most children. It was only when he was 10 years old that things began to get interesting. The family was well aware of Bennett's little oddities; sometimes he would become pale and sweaty (often breaking into tears before he could properly express himself) and then apparently forget about everything, or his 'feelings'. By that point, everybody knew to listen when he had a bad feeling about something. For weeks, he had avoided the car, or anything to do with it, without ever realising why he was doing it. Only later, did he make the connection. Jane had planned a trip, but aware of her youngest nephew's newfound unease with cars, she had them take the train instead. Her first mistake. About half an hour into the journey, disaster struck. A car, obviously intent on beating the train ran into their carriage (they later learned that the car had been attempting to outrun the police, hence the urgency to escape). Jane was killed instantly, Olive remained unharmed, Karlos and Francis broke several bones and Cornelius was left with partial hearing loss in his left ear as a result of some kind of brain trauma.

The Bennetts were horrified at the loss of Jane, but they tried as hard as they could to get on with their lives. When Cornelius was around 14, his father married again; his long-time girlfreind, Harmony. Harmony and Alvin had two more children, Ashleen and Karson. Despite everything that popular culture would like us to believe, the Bennett children got on well with Harmony and the children adored their new half sisters (although admittedly, Francis and Cornelius were the only Bennetts still living at home by that point).

Bennett finished high school and college with average grades, enough to get him into a journalism course. In all honesty, other than the general oddity that occurs in university and life in general, Bennett's life was average, dispite with a penchant for the extreme. It was in university that he met Kerry. So far as he was concerned, they were madly in love. After waiting for several years, he proposed at their graduation. Kerry accepted...until she found out that she was pregnant by another man. Although Bennett was happy to proceed, Kerry called the wedding off. The two still keep in contact, on good terms, Kerry even named Bennett one of her son's godfather's.

Eventually, he moved to America and got a job at a television station as a researcher, although he rarely sees his apartment for more than a week at one time, inbetween work and hobbies.
