OOC This stands for Out Of Character. THis means that whatever the person is writing is not part of the actual roleplay and id more a side-not. For example, you may want to join a roleplay, so you would write: OOC: hey, can I join as the evil blood sucking monster that os trying to take over the world? Variations include: [[ ooc content goes here ]] ((same)) ooc; OOC; outofcookies/control/chocolate/anything beginning with 'c':, ohohsee:, and others. BIC This stands for Back In Character. It is used after an OOC to show that you have finished chatting and are back ing the roleplay. If the 'OOC' was brackets ([[ ]] (( )) = =) then there may be no 'BIC' because the closed brackets does it for you. Variations: BackInControl, Biccie, etc. more to vome soon.
