In this battle the winner of each contest will be decided, and then they will take part in a larger contest for the overall winner. In this battle each contestant may only use one Pokémon, and it must be different from your appeal Pokémon. Choose and then the battle may begin.

Dragonfyre entered the arena. He had only just made it to the next round. He gulped. She had presented a stunning appeal, and if she was as good at battling he could pack up and leave.

"Zehpyr, make me proud," he said as he sent out his Dratini. He smiled at the little dragon. His first partner in the region and his best friend. "Do well, but it doesn't matter what the outcome is. All that matters is that you are hapy with the way you battled."

"Urgh, why Apollo? Why did you have to throw up all over Vulcan's tail, eh? Couldn't you have waited until we at least got to the safety of outside?" Yuno muttered dryly to herself as she strode briskly into the arena, fashionably late as usual. Well, she would not have been late if it had not been for the fact that her Pikachu had been so dizzy after his first appeal that he had projectile vomited over Yuno's newly acquired Charmander, Vulcan, almost putting out the flame on the end of his tail, thus putting him in terrible danger. Vulcan had cried, Apollo had cried, Fortuna had laughed and Yuno had sworn, loudly.

So, after scrubbing away at Pokemon vomit for the past five minutes, Yuno had finally given up and strode away with a single Pokeball, which just happened to be Fortuna's, and left Apollo and Vulcan to their tail-to-tail combat, or whatever men did when another puked all over them.

After reaching the arena, Yuno half wished that she had stayed behind and finished cleaning up the vomit, after realising that she would have to battle Absol-boy, who had suddenly morphed into Dratini-boy in the last five minutes. If his Dratini was anything as menacing as his Absol then she was in total trouble, especially as battling was one of her weaker points. Oh well, she'd better get this over with, it was not like she was getting any younger, or any less stinking like puke.

"Let's go, Fortuna!" Yuno trilled as her single Pokeball left the comfort of her palm and was sent spinning through the air, where it snapped open to reveal a smog of red light that took on the round form of some sort of ball-thing. The ball suddenly developed flippers and a face as the joyful form of Fortuna the Spheal burst into action, her flippers clapping together in apprehension.

"Yeah! That's the spirit girl! Let's win this one!" Yuno cheered and punched the air happily at her Pokemon's joy to battle. She was suddenly pumped for this battle, pumped and ready to win.

Maybe Pikachu vomit gave her special powers...

[Duck]

The crowd cheered. That’s all they really could do. Fortuna and Zephyr alike waited for commands, since neither trainer had seen fit to issue any. It was almost boring. In fact, the crowd stopped cheering, and instead started hissing. A chant was formed.

“We want action! We want action!”

Etc.

OCC// Okay everybody, stop spamming the battle!! >.< Hmmmm, moving on... Vulcan is a cool name. I named my Cyndaquil in MD Vulcan... Of course he is a Typhlosion now, and he looks ugly so I took him of my team, but *spams on and on for hours*. Okay. battle now.

"Okay Zephyr. They want action? Use a Twister, and lace it with electricity from a Thunder Wave. Let's see what the part water-type makes of that!" Dragonfyre had the feeling that he was using the same thing in some parallel universe, almost like a sense of déjŕ vu as the French say. Or already seen, in more Englishy terms.

He idly wondered if the electricity would damage, in combination with the Twister. It would be cool if it did, because of the weakness. But paralysis was just as good, as it allowed Zepyhr to attack unhindered for some of the time at least.

[I read some HP fanfiction that was a Draco/Hermione thing with Vulcan involved. It was pretty awesome. Not finished, though. ]

Zephyr nodded, showing that she understood the attack command. She quickly followed through with Dragonfyre’s orders, creating a strong twister that started on a direct path towards Spheal. As soon as it started moving, Dratini powered up for her second attack, Thunder Wave, and let it loose from her, the Twister cackling with electricity. Fortuna was struck dead-on, unable to move out of the path of the oncoming attack quick enough. The electricity sparked and fizzled around her body, causing her to become paralyzed, but it wasn’t strong enough to cause damage, even with the Twister. Not that it mattered – she took enough damage from the Twister attack as it was. Lucky for her that she hadn’t flinched, at least.
