personality
Matty is that one Jock that all the guys want to be and the one all the girls want to be with. He's talented and puts of that he knows what he's doing and doesn't ever not know. It's almost like he's an all american guy, he's well rounded, athletic and smart. He respects his elders and never talks back even when he should, he's the perfect kid. But in truth he's far from it, he only acts that way for his dad, he hates being perfect, putting on a front so that no one will see the real him. He doesn't see any reason not to pretend, everyone is happy, except him but that doesn't matter. His father is proud of him so that makes up for the fact that he is miserable.
The true Matteus is a mixture of geek, nerd, jock, and weirdo. He loves to read and learn, never taking more than two or three reads to understand something. He doesn't even mind asking for help if he has trouble understanding something. For all the Jock like image he sends out he hardly acts like it when he's around his really close friends. He doesn't mind admitting if he's wrong, and will listen to anyone who has an opinion that doesn't go with his own. If someone has something to say he always listens and doesn't put people down if what they say sounds stupid or idiotic. He's one of those people that doesn't mind sitting around and just talking or going out and doing something fun.
He's an understanding person who believes every person has a second chance to right their wrongs even if those wrongs were big. At times he can be a little naive, but it isn't a bad thing, he just hasn't experienced much living in a small town. But he has an understanding for how the world works that tends to surprise everyone, even himself sometimes. Needless to say Matteus is a complex individual. One thing that might not ever change is the fact that he always worries about how his father sees him. At times other people may or may not matter but his father is someone he truly respects and will always want his approval.
Over all Matteus is still a teenager, and still has room to grow and change. If anything going off to college may help make him into a person he can one day be proud of regardless of his father being proud of him or not. He dreams of reaching that point one day, of not caring who thinks what about him. Where he can be himself, the weirdo/geek/jock/popular guy.
Matty's personality has changed drastically during the year after the appocolypse had been averted. The once almost naive and completely happy go lucky personality doesn't even seem to exist in the same body anymore. Too many things happened to the young man that have changed his views on the world and on himself, which allowed himself to sink into a twisted way of thinking and depression in a sorts. A depression that he isn't sure is his new self or just something he can eventually pull himself out of. Until he figures that out he's stuck in this new and darker version of himself and is unsure how others will react to him.
More so than anything gone are the quick smiles and easy laughter that once made Matteus so approachable. Gone the bright eyed looks and the obvious curiousness in those blue depths that he was so well known for. They have all been replaced, with cold impassive stares, ones that keep everyone at an arms length if not farther. Those warm and quick smiles are replaced by thin lines that would be his lips that can barely do anything more than a grimace. There's no more laughter, no more smiles, no more curious looks and no more naivety, he's seen the world and what it has to offer those like him.
He isn't open with people anymore, he doesn't even like being around anyone he doesn't know. More than that he can't be around the people he does know because he's sure they wouldn't appreciate the new him. He cut off contact with all people after he was rescued from Meg the demon woman, the less people who could worry about him was all the more reason to do it. The psychological torture he'd gone through had left him more than wary of all demons, in fact it left a deep abiding fear of them. He still had nightmares about his time spent with the woman, though he refused help or any kind of worry if anyone found out.
There isn't anymore talking about his home, or his friends, or how much he likes this or that anymore. It's all about the hunt, his next hunt, the one after that, he's focused, he's what every hunter dreams of being. He's all but cut himself off from every single friend save for one, Cyrus the Haunt, he's the only being Matteus can bring himself to be around. Around Cyrus he's almost like his normal self, smiling and open, talkative and completely trusting. But only with Cyrus, of anyone else were to approach him he'd go back to being cold and impassive, he can't afford to let himself be open with anyone else. He can't have attatchments, can't give anyone anything to use against him.
Matteus' ADD as well as his insomnia have gotten much worse over the year, at night he hardly sleeps unless he passes out from exhaustion, or if he's forced to take his medication by someone. If he doesn't take his medication he risks going days without sleep and this in turn effects his personality. Making him crabby, unapproachable by eve sometimes including Cyrus. His ADD is always there, affecting him in ways that might not be noticeable to people unless they can read his mind. Beneath the stoic and impassive face that he wears his mind is a rampant collection of so many thoughts and ideas in his head it's almost impossible for him to concentrate unless he's hunting. Other than that he almost is constantly moving or doing something, he can't be sitting still, he has to have something to do.
Under all these things Matty has seriously become deluded into thinking that he is cursed, that he can get the ones he cares about killed. He cares for Cyrus, like a brother even, and relies on him now more than he ever thought he would. The only reason he's so open is because of how strong Cyrus is, emotionally and physically, they've both been down hard roads. More so Matty thinks if he ever rests, or just stops, the world is going to crash down around him and he won't survive it. Sleeping just brings nightmares of his time with Meg, evry time he'd close his eyes to sleep he'd see her and that room again. He'd see all the tools laying out ready to torture him and then he'd feel the pain she brought to him just because he was friends with angels.
On matters of the heart Matty has locked his away in a box and burried it deep inside him so that he can never hurt again. He's positive his father was right and that homosexuality is wrong, but he can't change that part about himself. He's grown to accept that he's gay and now bisexual as he thouht he was, but it doesn't matter because he's never going to let himself be in a relaitonship. Love is something that can only hurt you, no matter what anyone else tells him, it can lead to nothing but pain. He's taken a new stand on sex though, if there's an attraction, he isn't afraid to go after a guy, he isn't afraid to flirt anymore and he isn't afraid of having sex. He hasn't had sex since he lost his virginity, and he doubts he ever will again, but it's an open option now.
More than anything Matteus is just putting up this new self in order to protect himself, to stop himself from feeling. Being an emotional creature he can't handle his own emotions now, as it means handling things he hasn't handled yet. He'd rather become cold and emotionless than deal with the pain of emotions that can bring him to his knees in pain, it's so much more simpler. It keeps him sane and moving forward by just ignoring them and keeping them all locked away where they belong. In his mind unlocking the box his emotions are in, is aking him to opening pandora's box, his emotions are mixed with his demons and though there's always hope at the bottom of the box, Matty's still too scared and uncertain to open the box and let everything out.
history
Matteus was born on Valentines day in 1990, to his very happy parents. His mother had been scared she was going to lose him because she'd had some problems during the pregnancy but everything had gone alright. His mother names him for her brother who had passed away recently, and he was given his fathers middle name. Even then, he was a bright and beautiful baby, filled with life and laughter. He was always easy to make smile, or laugh, and loved being held and sung to. He almost never cried, but he was a baby and when he did cry his parents were fast to make him stop, be it he was hungry or tired, or just upset. He had two very loving and devoted parents who were the happiest parents in the world.
The early years of his life were precious and beautiful, filled with smiles, laughter, and joy. Until the day his mother died, when he was just four years old. His mother had gone out for medicine, leaving Matteus at home with his dad, he had been running a fever for a few hours. A call came an hour later, saying that his mother had been run off the road during some kind of drag race or car chase and her car had crashed into a tree. She had been pronounced dead at the scene. His father was devastated, and being that young Matteus didn't really understand what had happened, or what death was. He didn't understand why they were putting his mommy in a box or why the buried her in the ground. All his daddy would tell him was that mommy was going to go live with God now.
Growing up afterwards with his dad was tough, his dad was always worrying about him. He never really let him do anything he wanted to, he was scared Matty would get hurt. But after they started going to church again, courtesy of Aunt Liza, dads sister, he finally started letting Matty do things again. He even signed Matty up for little league football, and Matty just took off with it. He was easily one of the best players on the team, and he always had fun. No matter if they won or lost Matty was always smiling and giving it his all. It always made his dad smile so he went with football as his thing. That was how he and his dad bonded, or grew closer together, football.
When he was ten, Matteus started having nightmares about a monster under his bed. His dad eventually had to prove to him there was no monster. But Matteus had known otherwise, and went and tried to find a book on monsters. This was how he first got into reading and studying the paranormal and the supernatural. To prove to his dad that there were such things as monsters. Eventually, he came to realize there wasn't a monster under his bed. His dad had been right, but the books he had found became sort of like a security blanket. He just kept reading, and learning, and studying. It became another passion, besides football and making his dad happy. He couldn't get enough of it, and even started writing journals about his own variations of spells and rituals. Even though he had these thoughts and books on both good and bad magic, he could never bring himself to ever try and cast one of them or even try the simplest ritual.
Growing up in the small baptist town that he did, Matty had been raised a firm believer in God, and that anything not sanctified by the church was deemed the work of the devil. Even though he knew monsters weren't real he still read the books on them and learned about them. There was a drive in him to continue learning, learning about something that his father and maybe the entire town wouldn't approve of. Reading about everything was one thing, but actually trying it was another. He couldn't bring himself to do any of it, it was like even though he was reading the books to set himself apart he couldn't do anything for fear of someone finding out. And even if he did cast any spell or ritual, he highly doubted anything would happen. It couldn't happen, the monsters that he read about, none of them were real, they were just all make believe.
Moving forward in his life became a mixture of making sure he never dissapointed his father or made him upset. He always tried to be the best and most perfect son he could be, because he didn't want to make the only family he technically had left mad at him. So he kept all his grade up in school, he wasn't a straight A student. But he did well enough that his father never complained about his grades. He even kept up his football career, making sure he would always be the best that he could be for his dad. They even started working out together, and eating healthy. Being all they had helped to solidify their father and son relationship and he kept doing his best, he never wanted to make his dad upset and so he never did drugs, or drank.
In Highschool he easily became popular with his football record and his good looks. But he'd already discovered when he had been younger that he wasn't exactly attracted to girls in a sexual way. But he kept it to himself and did what any guy would do and ended up dating a cheerleader and going to parties that didn't have drinking or drugs. They did of course but he never took part of the drinking or the drugs. Finally his time came and he was a senior, and he was the new captain of the Varsity football team. It was here that he thought he could finally break out of the shell that had been locked around him, but if anything that shell was now made of glass and steel.
Another lesser sport, or mock sport as his dad called it was Archery. It was one of the few classes that he actually enjoyed taking. In archery it didn't matter if he was popular or not, it didn't matter if he was the captain of the varsity team. The only thing that mattered was his ability to remain calm, and trust his instincts. He wasn't good to start with, in fact, he down right sucked. But as he kept at it, he got better, he still wasn't perfect but he was getting to be good. He never entered any of the competitions, unsure of himself and his skills. He was always wondering if the others would let him win cause of his popularity or would the be cruel and shun him because of it. It wasn't easy, but he did manage to make a small amount of friends in the Archery class, which soon he started being apart of as much as football. Though he could never let it interfere with football, or his father would make him quit. He eventually purchased himself his own bow to continue practicing for after he graduated.
So many more things were expected of him, his father wanted him to become a Professional Football player. His grades were good enough to get him anywhere in the country, minus the Ivy League schools. But before he made a final choice his Aunt, his dads sister told him he should come for a visit up to their ranch in Maine. After his trip he could finalize his choices for college and go from there to what ever school he chose to. With his dads blessing he loaded his car with his belongings which weren't many to start with and started the drive from Talking Rock Georgi to Caribou Maine. He doesn't know how long it'll take to get there, ot what will happen along the way. But hopefully by the time he gets to his Aunt's Ranch he'll have figured out what school to go to, and what he should do with his life. It's all up in the air for him, huge life altering choices to be made that he hasn't a clue how to make.
After being held hostage by Meg for two months, filled with inhuman torture and pyschological mind breaking Matteus was a different person. He was led to believe someone he cared about was dead, and that he'd had the power to save him but hadn't done so unknowingly. Instead he'd left him to die at the hands of the rebels and his angel bretherin, which just added onto Matty's guilt. This had led to him letting his guard down and fell into the demon woman's trap and he became her play thing for two entire months. He still has nightmares about his time spent with her in that sub-basement, trapped with no one to hear his screams. No one to answer his prayers to save him, he had been all alone with no one but Meg and her tortures.
He was eventually rescued, freed from the confines of her dungeon set back into the world he'd come from. But he was already starting to change, he'd built walls and defenses around himself so that he'd never get captured again. The month after being rescued was some what of a blur as he joined several others in the search for the rings of the horsemen, he didn't know why he joined in the search. By all accounts he should have been resting and just taking it easy, but he wanted to help save the world too, he couldn't just sit around doing nothing.
After the apocolypse was averted, he found himself searching for something, anything that would bring him back to who he had been. But there wasn't anything, nothing that would allow him to be who he was before and remain as such. He finally found himself following the familiar trail of Cyrus, a haunt he had met a few months before and had some what befriended. Matteus had heard talkings of a wolf like creature running around and howling, causing problems but not outrightly killing anyone. Matty started his search for him trekking him across a few states until he found him, his friend was heart broken, again like Matteus because of the angels. There was still a part of Matteus that was his old self, and even at the risk of getting himself killed he stayed with Cyrus, to help him recover.
Matty started avoiding all other people, only occasionaly taking a phone call from someone one or emailing a hunter certain information that they needed. But he didn't meet anyone in person anymore, and if he did it was purely chance or happanstance that they run into each other. Even then he does his best to shake people quickly preferring his own or Cyrus' company. The hunting is what keeps him mildly sane, it keeps him from going crazy, from breaking down and wallowing in his depression that he hasn't dealt with. He's gotten much better, and with Cyrus as a hunting partner he's slowly learning the ropes of what it means to be a real hunter. Not a hunter by title, but a hunter by nature where one learns there enemies and then uses that information against them.
He doesn't hunt like normal hunters either, he doesn't hunt something just because it killed or ate someone. He hunts to make sure that it wasn't a kill for fun, he understands that some supernatural beings have to kill in order to survive and that doesn't bother him. What bothered him was supernatual beings that killed just because they could, just because they thought they were better. Hunters fell under this catagory, and Matty wasn't afraid of standing up to them or ruining their hunts if they were hunting something that was just trying to survive. He doesn't care if a name is made for him in the hunting community, he's past caring what other people think about him or even being threatened by hunters. He's going to do what he does and isn't going to stop because someone threatens his life or even takes a shot at him.
His year is filled with just that, random hunts, stopping other hunts, continuing his training and just moving forward. He'd given his number to a friendly guy he met the year before named Riddick, extremely sweet and nice. They had talked to each other over the phone for the first few months after he'd left South Dakota, but then one he changed his phone he never bothered calling him again. Riddick met the old him, knew the old him, he isn't sure what he'll think of this new him, he's not sure what anyone will think of this new him. It's part of the reason he's avoided everyone, why he doesn't tell everyone he's alive and well, more to the point that he's just alive. Riddick deserved a guy or girl that wasn't broken like he was, one that wasn't cursed as he was, one that could return the obvious affections he had for Matteus. He isn't sure that he'll ever see him again, isn't sure if he wants to, but he does know that if they did meet, he wouldn't recognize him at all. There's not point in worrying them all, telling them he was captured by a demon and made into her play toy. He doesn't want the extra scrutiny, he doens't need it because then that just means more to worry about, more to think about and he isn't able to handle much more.
Towards the end of the year, he's contacted by someone he never thought would speak to him again. Lark, or Maion, the fallen angel inside her, called upon him for help, she was the one who had stabbed Sariel caliming love of family. He'd gotten to know her before he'd been kidnapped by Meg, it had actually been because of her that the'd been taken captive. He'd found out that she was Maion, the sister that Sariel had been betrayed by and he'd left her and Castiel in a rage, more than anything a rage against himself for liking her and understanding her. She contacted him saying she needed his help in saving an angel who'd been captured by the heavenly host. He was the only one who she could think could of that could do anything, besides another angel of course.
As suspicious as Matty is, he isn't above trying to help save an angel from heaven, and sets out to join Lark at hospital. He's been studying up on his Enochian, thanks to his time spent with Castiel, he was able to learn a large amount from him. He managed to keep a record of everything he learned, even going online and learning a few things he hadn't. It was all there in his head as he went off leaving Cyrus alone so he could meet with Lark at a hospital of all places. He isn't sure what to expect from her, and his guard is up and ready to defend himself agains her, and he isn't afraid to kill her either. All pretenses are gone from him and he isn't going ot let anyone ever get the jump on him again. Or at least he's going to try and not let it happen, things are bound to happen that he can't expect, he'll just have to wait and see what the world throws at him.
Matty still runs and operates his supernatural forum online, though lately he's been letting a few helpers run it for him as he's been absent more and more from it. He also got himself a new cell phone and though he transferred all his numbers over he never told anyone he had a new number so has most likely scared more than a few people by not answering their calls. His collection of books is still kept in his car and he's still got his regular hunting supplies always on hand. Though his car is now protected by a devil trap on the inside on the roof.
RP SAMPLE
As far as he was concerned Lawrence wasn't that bad of a town, in fact it reminded him primarily of his home town back in Georgia. If anything he feels more at home now than he did there, not only because he's finally on his own but because he doesn't have to be perfect all the time. Matteus only came to Lawrence because it was so far away from home, he'd taken a Football Scholarship they had offered him, a full ride through four years of college. He just had to win them games, and keep his average at least at a B level. So far, it had been pretty easy to do, classes weren't as hard as he thought they'd be and the team was really easy to work with.for the first time in a while he was surprised to find that he had free time on his hands, something he didn't have back in Georgia. He was always busy, going to church, volunteering at the homeless shelters, or at the local Elders Retreat. Not to mention his job, even though it was only half time it took up the last remnants of any free time he might have. He'd worked at the local library as an aide, which was something he had thoroughly enjoyed, which was why he had found himself at the library now.
Walking through the large wooden and brass doors made him realize that just like back at home libraries here weren't as frequented as they should be but the town still spend thousands and thousands of dollars to keep them up to par. Making his way across the marble floors he managed a small nod and smile to an elderly woman sitting at the front desk. "You wouldn't happen to have a New Age section or an Old Religions section would you Ma'am? I'm new here, I just moved here from Georgia ant I want to get my studies up on Religion." The elderly woman smiled at him and despite her apparent age slid off her stool rather quickly motioning for Matteus to follow her. Her quick footsteps led Matteus out into a huge section of the library filled with computers, huge oak shelves filled with far too many books for him to ever read in his life time. He almost got left behind as the elderly librarian led him towards the far corner of the library where most of the books seemed to have a slight covering of dust and an air of unused filled the air. Finally she stopped, "Here you go deary, this entire section goes from this bookshelf to the back wall. We've intermingled New Age with Old Religions, seeing as now a days no one really can tell the difference. If you need anything I'll be back up at the front desk, I'll have a Library Card waiting for you too, I have the feeling you might need one." She smiled and walked off, her heels barely making a sound as she left.
Immediately Matteus moved over to start scanning the books, most of them he had read or at least owned. But there was one that caught his eyes, one that made him smile and bite his lip in anticipation. It was a fairly thick book, bound in grey leather with silvery blue words written into the spine. John Dee's Five Books of Mystery: Original SourceBook of Enochian Magic. He was completely surprised the library had a copy, he'd been searching for this book for a few months now, spending hours scouring the internet to find a copy only to have it taken right from under his mouse. Flipping through the pages he stopped as he found a complete rendition of the Seal of God Aemeth. His eyes widened slightly, he'd never seen it completely filled, it was a seal, a glyph that held all of God's names in Hebrew. It was a very powerful seal, one that was said to be unbreakable, that even his angels didn't know all the names of God listed here. Grinning he closed the book with reverence and slid it into his bag before turning and running headlong into a solid body. Stumbling backwards he straightened up and smiled as he found himself facing a really cute looking Asian guy. There was an awkward smile shared between them. "Sorry about that you alrig--WHOA!"
Just as he had been asking if the guy was alright the mans smile had turned dark and sinister and he opened his mouth revealing rapidly growing teeth that resembled something out of a horror film. The guy or thing, stalked forward, his hands arching like claws, "Anata wa ningen shinu junbi ga dekite imasu ka?" It really sounded like it was speaking Japanese to him, but he had no clue what it was saying to him. He didn't speak Japanese, he could almost read it, but speaking it was another thing entirely. He took a step back, and the guy took a step forward, the process was repeated, all the while the guy was smiling with his ungodly smile. Matteus didn't really have many options, he didn't carry weapons, his ceremonial Athame was at his apartment, but it was purely ritualistic. Not that he ever used it but at least it would be good to hold right now. He couldn't call for help, or that old woman at the front desk might come looking for him and get herself killed. "W-What do you want?" The guy stalked closer, leering at Matteus like he was about to eat him or something. "Anata wa totemo yoi nioi ga, watashi wa ōkina yorokobi de ima, anata o taberu yō ni naru." Blinking rapidly the only thing he understood from what the guy said was eat, and great delight. Wait, was he going to get eaten by an Asian guy in a library?! "This is so not the day that I thought it was going to be." His back finally hit the wall and he had no where left to go, his side was blocked by a rolling book cart and the front was blocked by creepy guy who said he was going to eat him with great delight. His life was about to end far too soon for his own liking.

Over all this is a really good app, just a few minor things really.
One could you please let us know where you found us in the player section?
As for him knowing about the occult and spells, I'm not sure why he never tried to cast one, or why he became so fascinated with it. The monster under his bed was or wasn't real? I'm not really sure on that. I'm also not sure if he believes it's real or what.
Also, I'm not sure why he went to Lawrence, Kansas. As far as we know it's not a college town. Since Lawrence is where Dean and Sam are from it would have to be a good, feasible, plausible reason for him to go there before we approve it.
So just get that squared away and I'll look again.

I think I've taken into affect what you said, I decided to go against Lawrence, had no idea why I sent him there to start with. But I hope everything else is alright, and if it isn't I'm more than willing to work on it.
