Gabriel definitely isn't your typical angel in any shape or form, least of all in personality. In that aspect he's very nearly human: he's cocky, mischievous and always has a snarky comment at the ready. The emotions he shows aren't copies of human emotions--he feels almost as a human does, things like rolling his eyes or shrugging his shoulders are things that Gabriel has been doing for thousands of years so, unlike his brethren, don't appear awkward on him. He fully understands human jokes and popular culture references, wielding them himself with complete confidence, and hardly ever has to ask about things like how to send a text message or work a radio anymore. He can't, however, drive a car or cook for himself--his conjuring and teleportation abilities have canceled out the need for him to ever learn, something he can be a bit cocky about. He's a big believer in hedonism and living his life to the fullest, not in any way shy of indulgence or 'sinning' for the sake of a good time. He's also a fan of playing games with people instead of being more straightforward as another angel might, always opting for the 'more fun' option.
Unlike other angels Gabriel has a noticeable lack of respect for his fellow brethren and often refers to them in much more familial terms (i.e. calling God Dad or a female angel Sis). He also has a noticeable respect for humans, never referring to them as 'hairless apes' or 'ants' as other angels are prone to do. Gabriel recognizes his power over humans but he doesn't think he's in any way better than them. He's probably the most human-like of all the angels.
Gabriel is anything but a coward and is willing to give up his life in order to protect what he deems important or to achieve a goal--he's got no problem about dying in battle. This isn't to say he's loyal to anyone but himself but at the same time the idea of stabbing people in the back leaves a bad taste in his mouth. It's an odd mix. Gabriel has a lot of love for the things he cares about: his family for one thing and it's because of this that he left Heaven as he did all that time ago--he couldn't stand to watch them fight.
history
For such a remarkable being Gabriel started out as most other angels did: created in Heaven to serve God. He is technically the youngest of the four archangels, created after Michael, Lucifer and Raphael. As a fledgling he has a good relationship with his older brothers, Lucifer especially who he learned a lot from. But eventually, after an immeasurable length of time, Michael and Lucifer began to fight and bicker more and more and this is when Gabriel flew the coop and sought refuge on early Earth. Initially he lived alone and secluded before his curiosity got the better of him and he began to interact with the humans around him, hoping from vessel to vessel as they decayed--unable to hold the power of an archangel. At first it was the search for his true vessel and the exploration of the world around him that kept Gabriel in check and away from his mischievous tendencies.
It was around 200 AD that Gabriel found his true vessel on accident, a poor man struggling to make a living somewhere in Rome. His vessel had been mugged by a group of bandits and stabbed several times in the process. Bleeding on the ground the man prayed for salvation from God for his many past sins and it was in this moment that Gabriel appeared to him in a temporary vessel which was starting to show the signs of decay. At first Gabriel didn't recognize being in the presence of his true vessel, having just answered the prayer out of boredom. But after several moments Gabriel realized that this human, bleeding out on the ground, as the only human who would be able to contain him and assuring the man he would be absolved of all his sins and go to Heaven, got him to say yes. And with the concern of a decaying vessel out of the way Gabriel really began to explore the finer things in life.
It was some time after finding his true vessel that Heaven began to search for Gabriel, looking to call him back to Heaven to do his duty as God's Messenger. This is what forced him to start going by Loki, killed the real Loki in order to completely assume the role. What was at first just an act of desperation gained Gabriel friends in the other pagan gods as well as the duty of a Trickster, one he much preferred to his duties as an archangel. He was able to ignore the goings on in Heaven, focusing on his Trickster duties and living the high life among humans for the better part of the next 1700 years, right up until he met the Winchesters by pure chance. Gabriel had heard about the brothers in a very limited capacity--word of their birth and destinies escaping Heaven and reaching Gabriel's ears through a fellow pagan god but had resolved to stay out of it. It wasn't until Springfield, Ohio that Gabriel really began to toe his way back in to the business of Heaven. He was able to keep up his life as a Trickster right up until Dean Winchester sold his soul to bring his brother back and the plans for the Apocalypse were set in motion. In the hopes to stop the fighting Gabriel trapped Sam Winchester in a time loop in an attempt to break his obsession with saving his brother--a trait Gabriel realized would lead to him becoming an easier target for the demons. But he was convinced to bring Dean back from the dead and end the time loop, begrudgingly though he did this.
His most recent encounter with the Winchesters had Gabriel trying to convince them to 'play their roles' and accept both Michael and Lucifer, hoping that if the big 'prize fight' between his brothers was just gotten over with then all of humanity wouldn't be destroyed. But this plan too failed and Gabriel has since vanished back into the duties of a Trickster. However his encounter with the brothers has had Gabriel developing half a mind to jump into all this crazy Apocalypse business himself.
RP SAMPLE
Getting stabbed in the stomach was with his own angel blade not on Gabriel's 'to do' list for that day. He honestly hadn't expected Big Brother Lucifer to make an appearance when he'd walked--fashionably late as always--into the newly refurbished hotel. He had to give props to Mercury, god had taste. A bit too much shag carpeting and not enough booze to really get a party going but Odin had never been into the whole party scene anyway, not like Gabriel. Grumpy ass old man.
Those snot nosed little Winchesters poking their heads in where they didn’t belong he had anticipated. For the love of Dad, those two were like moths to a flame when it came to anything supernatural, so finding them right smack in the middle of a holy board meeting wasn’t a stretch. Luckily Kali didn’t have them choking on their own blood within the first few seconds of Dean mouthing off (he’d have to remind the kid to send Mercury a fruit basket for taking that bullet) and the spectacular and shining failure of their plan to break the blood binding on those two had only resulted in his getting a pretty little metaphorical chain of his own. And then of course there had been the whole Kali turning him into a glorified pig on a spit with his own blade, pulling the wool over her eyes with a bit of a light show, hiding in the back seat of the precious Impala…and that was when Luci showed up. All said and done it just wasn’t his day. Getting bound by Kali he could get out of—he’d always been able to sweet-talk and charm his way out of a tight spot with her and she had most of the other gods by the short and curlies, but the angel blade currently sticking through his stomach, well…that was kind of a problem.
A cold yet burning pain swam through his Grace from the point of injury, upward and outward in a way that would have made Gabriel nauseous. But that definitely wasn’t bile welling up in his throat, the lack of acidic burn to his esophagus told him it was blood. He could feel his brother partially holding him up and his legs decided to flip him the bird and threaten to collapse beneath him, one of his decaying and cracked hands cupping the side of Gabriel’s face. The archangel couldn’t really make out the words very well past the sound of his own pounding heartbeat, some pompous bullshit about learning all his tricks from him no doubt, and he would have made a crack about who it was that had ‘caught something’—maybe throw in a callback to that Herpexia commercial--if he’d felt up to it. But as things stood Lucifer gave a sharp twist of the angel blade and the entire world was engulfed in burning Grace. For real this time.

Mmkay hun I think you need to back track a little. Remember we're an AU Season 5 that started from the beginning of season 5. Gabriel wouldn't be dead. If you can revamp it a little and just bring him in as though he was there in the beginning of season five that would be great.
