There, he's focused, laser-intent and he doesn't let a damned thing past him. He loves his job, but to be fair, he loves his family even more, and it's there where he finds most of his contentment. Widowed, he tends to keep tabs on his two kids as much as any other father might, though he's not too happy with the way he finds his daughter bruised and bloody half the time. Like any law enforcement official, he despises people who don't care about the safety of others, especially those who don't pay attention to firearms or drink and drive, and is prepared to lock them up, without question, for the sake of the greater good. However, he is very protective of those he sees as like his own family, including his son and daughter... and he values the safety of his family and other innocent people above his own life. Though he can be impulsive and a touch arrogant, he is very intelligent and able to hold his own, and the only time he has slightly irrational behaviour is when his friends or family is threatened. He enjoys the simple things in life, like good food and television. He has a great sense of humour, and he is known to crack a joke to make light of tense situations, or just to make someone smile. Of course, deep down he always and will forever be mourning the loss of his wife, and so that's perhaps why he tends to have a wall between himself and his feelings, not letting anyone in besides those he holds most dear.historyFrank Davies was born on a hot and muggy day in the beginning of August in 1965, the son of a few generations worth of lawmen before him, and he really never thought to waver from that plan. Why not? Because it just worked out that he was pretty good at it. Even as a kid, when others wanted to play cops and robbers, he almost always was the first out there, mowing down the 'bad guy' and getting that proud smirk on his face for a job well done. So when he graduated from high school, he knew his life's plan. That, and he'd already met the love of his life.Serena was his high school sweetheart, a tiny thing with huge dark eyes and all that dark hair that their daughter inherited. Yes, it could be said that the big ol' softie fell and fell hard the first time they met in the school cafeteria, and like the old cliche goes, the rest was history. A few months after they graduated from high school, they were married... and a few years after that, she was pregnant with their first child. By that time, he'd joined the force as a rookie, and when his daughter was born, he was a full fledged member of the Lincoln PD. He couldn't be prouder. But then his son was born... and his heart seemed to grow like the Grinch's... and he had a feeling that things just couldn't get any better. He was right.Shortly after his son's fourth birthday, he got a call over the horn that something attacked his wife and of course, like any husband and father would, he raced out to the scene of the crime to make sure his family was okay... but they weren't. Not by a long shot. Instead, he found his wife dead... and his kids traumatized by having heard the attack through the car. You see, Serena, his wife, was putting groceries away in the back of the car and she'd kept the kids inside so they'd stay warm, as any good mother might. And that's what saved them when she was all but ripped apart. When he saw the state of his wife's body, though, something deep and dark caught him... and Frank knew he wouldn't be happy until those sons of bitches who hurt his wife were dealt with. Like anyone who hadn't ever thought outside the box, he believed the killings were committed b a group of cultist thugs, and he was always on the lookout for her murderers. Of course, that didn't stop him from growing super-protective of his children in the meantime, forcing them to stay inside when he couldn't be there watch them, checking in with them at school whenever he was close by, and gradually, with time, he grew a tad less vigilant. But it didn't stop him from being persistent over their safety. He'd enrolled them both into martial arts, even took some of that himself, and in time, watched his kids grow up without a mother. That was the hardest part of it all. They all suffered with the loss of his wife, but none more than Frank. From the minute it hit him, that she was gone, he was... a shell. A broken man. So depressed that he couldn't get out of bed for the first few days after the news broke, he only overcame the need to hide away because his children needed him. And that continued for a very long time... he went through the motions... because Alison and Mitchell needed a parent. Eventually it just became second nature to him, the way he hid his innermost feelings away... and he let those two be the light of his life.A few years after his wife died, he eventually took the Detective's Exam and passed, and passed easily. He had always been the kid of guy that, once his mind was set on something, he was going to go full-bore on it until he nailed it. And that, he did. but it wasn't just for him... he did it so he could better take care of his family too. Even the part of it that he lost. And in time, his kids flew the nest and he kept himself busy by working and spending time with pals, but he never once thought of remarrying. It didn't feel right and he certainly wasn't about to be able to match the love he felt for the mother of his children. So widowhood suited him, for the most part, because it allowed him more time at the Station. But every week he gives a call to Mitch and Alison, catching up, keeping tabs, and though they may both be adults, he's still their Dad and he wants to make sure they're okay. A protective father never retires...RP SAMPLEGod... save me from the self-righteous women of this town! That was the hue and cry of Frank Davies as he stood to one side of the Station's break room, watching the others as they spoke in whispers and murmurs due to this being the party thrown for him by the Station due to his birthday. Yeah, part of him wants to cut and run, but the Chief's giving him that look and that means... stay still. Of course, Frank would much rather be behind his desk and eating the piece of cake he's holding haphazardly in one hand, but that's almost too much to ask for. No, not when he's being looked at like a prime steak and the women around him could be holding knives and forks for the way they're staring so hungrily. Can't they get it? That he's happy enough with the way things are? He's sure they don't. To anyone else, being widowed would be a speed bump in the road of life, but to Jack, it was a detour, and one that took him in a slightly different direction in life. He misses Serena every day, still has her spot there at the table and all of her jewellery and clothes are still in their shared closet... and her memory in his heart. To the women in this town, though, they're all sure he just will meet the right one, things will work out and boom... happily ever after. Nope, for Frank Davies, it's more like... work work work, then sleep, then start all over again. Who needs anything else besides family? And that's why, when one brave soul broke from the ranks, he arched one brow at her approach and then smirked faintly. "Might as well go on back and tell 'em that Frank's good. Unless you wanna bring me punch? I could go for punch," he mouths off before she could even open hers, and watching her blink, he just stood there, proudly shovelling more cake into his mouth. Yep, save him from righteous women. The only kind he needs, they don't make anymore.BANNER BY MoiTEMPLATE BY FEDORA @ CAUTION 2.0 AND A THOUSAND FIREFLIES Code Edited by Sully
