Aphrodite Digiovanni was a strange woman, to say at the least. She always had been strange for as long as she could remember. As a child, she didn’t like to play with dolls, dress up or play girly things. No. She wanted action figures, play in the mud, and get rough. She wasn’t into getting married, or dating, or even into boys either. While most kids were into dinosaurs or animals, she was into vampires, ghosts, and ghouls. Kids made fun of her for that, and made her into an outcast. Aphrodite hated them for that, and would get violent against them, when they teased her. Of course things changed when she grew up into a teenager. Boys and some girls started to notice her, and she would notice them. But she still was still different from them. When she wasn’t studying, she went out on trips with her father, which would last weeks at a time. What were these trips? They were hunting missions, to rid the world of evil and darkness. Aphrodite Digiovanni was a hunter, born and raised, and she’ll die a hunter. She was proud of this, and will always be proud of this. But the job did have a lot of drawbacks. There was plenty of death, blood, gore, heartbreak, and evil. Even though she was only 25, Aphrodite felt much older than that.
The young woman looked up at the moon, barely seeing it, thanks to the city lights. Aphrodite wasn’t fan of big cities. They were more dangerous, they smelled, most had smog, and you couldn’t see the stars anymore. Aphrodite was born in Houston Texas, but she lived in the country part, where the farms were. It was much cleaner and prettier there. But Aphrodite wasn’t in the city to see the sights, nope. She was here, to destroy a vampire nest. She heard it through the grape vine, that there was one nearby. Aphrodite didn’t like a lot of supernatural beings, some of them were good, but most of them were bad. She hated vampires, they were life taking creatures that didn’t give a damn about others or things they did. She never met a good vampire, nor would she ever. There was no such thing as good vampire. Their hearts, if they have one are black with darkness and evil. The twenty-five year old hunter dealt with vampires before. It wasn’t easy to kill them; there wasn’t many ways to kill them. Decapitation and an Angel’s touch was the main ways to kill them. But the older the vampire is the harder it is to kill.
Aphrodite brought a cigarette to her lips, and took a drag. She closed her eyes, and looked at the time. It wasn’t that late out, the night just begun. She pushed herself off the tree she was leaning against, and made her way toward the two story house, it was more like a mansion than a house. The bigger the house, the bigger the vampires nest. It was going to be a huge hassle and fight to kill all or at least most of the vampires. She pulled the axe strapped to her back, making sure it was secure and ready for use. Then she laid her hand over the sword strapped to her hip, it was also ready for use. She glanced at her belt; there were several vials of dead man’s blood. Dead man’s blood didn’t kill a vampire, only made them very weak. It gave them blood illness. This would help her out a lot. The weaker she made the vampire’s the easier she could kill them. She wouldn’t use all the vials here, no. She would use about 5 of the vials here, then save the rest for another vampire hunt.
As she got close to the house, she heard hear music, pounding from the speakers. The music was a cover up for the vampire feast. She made a face. The vampires’ pets were bringing in meals for them. Stupid wannabe vampires! Ever since the crazy of Twilight came out, everyone wanted to be a vampire. She shook her head. She hated the damn book and the following books for brainwashing people into thinking vampires were beautiful and sexy creatures. Vampires were not sexy or beautiful. They were ugly, disgusting and very lazy creatures. But they were strong, and some of them were smart. But most vampires were stupid, at least to her they were. She sighed as she snuck into the house, with ease. Years of practice were her excuse, but it was luck she got in without being caught. She got in through the basement, which was empty. That surprised her. She thought vampires would be all over the place. She pulled the axe from her back, checking the sharpness. She grinned; it was sharp, and ready to cut off heads.
She stealthily made her way up the stairs; the music was covering her footsteps and breathing. The other scents of humans was covering her scent was well. She got on top of the stairs, Aphrodite spotted her first vampire. He had a man up against the wall, and was about to feed. She swung her axe with practiced grace, and aimed for the vampire’s neck. The sound of flesh and bone being torn and severed was heard. Blood sprayed everywhere, was the head of the vampire was removed from the body. It flew into the air, and landed a few feet away from the body. The vampire’s body fell to the ground with a thump. Aphrodite looked at the petrified human male. “Get out of here” She nodded to the door. “NOW” She ordered. He nodded and scrambled away from her, covered in the vampire’s blood. She moved her way down a hall, stopping at a bedroom. She opened the door, and made a face. Two vampires were feeding this time. She cursed as she was caught, in the door way. A male vampire lunged for her. Aphrodite moved out of the way, and watched as he crashed into the door. The other vampire, a female lunged for her next. Aphrodite brought up her axe, and slashed it against the female vampire’s neck, beheading her. She closed her eyes as the blood sprayed everywhere, on her, the walls, floor and bed. She turned her gaze to the male; he was out like a light. He was easy prey, she beheaded him as well.
She felt the room, and ventured back into the hall. It was going to be a LONG night. She had to get rid of the vampires on the first floor, before she went to the 2nd floor. She gripped her axe tightly as she went to the next room, it was empty. She gave a sigh of relief, as she left the empty room. She came across the kitchen and paled. There was human blood everywhere. Vampires were so messy with their meals. She gave a grunt of disgust. She checked all the first floor bathrooms, and saw they were empty. Not surprising, who would want to feed in the bathroom? Not only did it sound disgusting but it was disgusting. Blood dripped from her axe, from the three vampires she killed so far. She made it to the stairs leading up to the second floor, and looked up. Should she go up the stairs and investigate or stay down here, and kill the rest of the vampires like she planned?
She decided to stay down; the 2nd floor would have to wait. She passed the stairs and came to another bedroom. She cursed as she found it locked. She jiggled the doorknob and pounded on the door. No one would answer. She was about to break down the door, when she was grabbed. A hand came to the back of her neck, and lifted her into the air. She struggled, and dropped her axe. From the corner of her eye, she could see a vampire had her. He smirked and threw her into a wall. She groaned as she felt the hard concrete met her back and head. She slid down the wall, and glared as the male vampire picked her up and threw her sword aside, so she couldn’t use it on her. He pinned her against the wall, making her arms and legs useless. “You killed my friends, bitch” He snarled in her face. She glared at him. “Don’t worry, I’ll kill you too” She snapped. He slapped her for that, and she hissed. That fucking hurt. He leaned down to bite, but snarled as she head butted him. This caused him to let her go for a moment. But the moment was all she needed. She pushed herself away from the wall. She made a dash for her sword, and snatched it off the floor. She turned to face the vampire, and grinned. “Close your eyes, and I’ll give you a kiss” She taunted as she swung her sword and beheaded him. Now she was soaked head to toe in vampire blood. She kicked the vampire’s head away from her and sighed. “Fucking hell, my head hurts” She couldn’t tell if she was bleeding, or not. She would find out after she took a bath.
She moved back to the stairs, leading up to the 2nd floor. She walked up them, trying to be quiet, even with the music. There were still vampires downstairs, but she had to hide for a few minutes. The bodies will be discovered soon, and they will be searching for her. As she made it to the top of the stairs, Aphrodite caught sight of a male with vampire blood all over him. She frowned as she gripped her sword and axe in either hand. She could tell this male, wasn’t human, but he wasn’t vampire either. “What are you doing here? It’s dangerous, get out of here.” She ordered, for his protection. The fewer humans were here the better. People got in the way, when it came to vampire, whether it was the pet or the meal, they were bothersome.
