A crescent moon was barely a sliver in the night sky as feint speckles of stars could be made out. It was a particularly dark night but the excess light from the city did well to hide some of the fainter stars. Still it gave a good night for hunting. Orange street lights illuminated the streets and walls with a steady glow forming dark pockets of shadows that seemed to stretch endlessly into the dark wherever the light did not touch. It was within these shadows that Cyrus has found the boy. He had intended on making it quick meal but he had found a distinct lack of fear when Cyrus had come from the shadows to take his life. In fact the young human was so bold to deliver a threat regarding the worth of his life. Cyrus thought of those words now as he looked up at a rather large house just outside the city. He could hear a feint beat of music in the air emanating from it. He held the boy firmly in one hand by the back of his neck. ”So this is where your masters live? The one that will destroy me should I bring harm to you, his prized apprentice?” He said the words mockingly through gritted teeth. He brought his red eyes to focus on the young naive and rather annoying human who despite being dragged around had a confident grin on his face. ” Whatever you are, you are foolish to attempt and defy the vampire lords.” Cyrus rolled his eyes and twisted his hand, and sickening pop could be heard and he jerked the boys neck just a bit further than his body could allow. He let him drop to the ground before making his way to the house.

From what the human told him a large group of vampires resided in that house, they would use these idiotic people to go and fetch them fresh meals. From the loudness of the music he assumed they were catering a party to cover up their incisive feeding. The lazy creatures would hardly have to move as their willing servants brought them their meals eager to join the party or whatever they were told. Cyrus decided that he wasn’t in the mood to hunt tonight. These were annoying creatures, they were in his territory and their supposed apprentice had insulted his race, no today he was in the mood for killing vampires.

It didn’t take long from him to slip inside the house unnoticed as he slipped between the shadows. He managed to find himself on the second floor of the two floor house, better defined as a mansion. He kept to his human form for now as he walked silently down the hall. He began to search for a weapon. Though vampires could barely hurt him in the darkness he wasn’t strong enough to take their heads of with just his hands, as amusing as that thought seemed. He smirked a bit as he slipped under the shadow of a door finding himself in an empty and dark bedroom. It was then that the scent of fear caught him. This room may have been empty but not all of them were. Some appeared to have their own desires for feeding as Vampires often did. From the other rooms he picked up the fear of their victims realizing their fate. He counted two but his focus was on finding a weapon before he tried to take them. He could only smell them however as the loud thumping music from downstairs drown out any sound further than a few meters away. He moved through the room with focus inspecting it for anything that could prove useful.

He spent a few minutes searching the room but found nothing useful. Giving up he slipped out in search for a more decorative room. Down the hall he could see many rooms as he wondered how many vampires there could be here, probably more than a few and of different ages. He pushed open another door and moved inside his red eyes glowing as he searched the room. There on the wall opposite of the bed hung a rather large mirror, easily over 10 pounds by the looks of it. He smiled and walked over pulling it off the wall and looking behind it for what he hoped would be there. Along its back was a rather long steal wire that was used to hang it on the nail. He pulled it off and wrapped it around his hands. With his strength he would be able to cut through their necks and sever their heads if he got a good hold.

Back out into the dark hallways he went now armed and ready to take the life from these vile creatures. Perhaps even feed from one as he realized his place in the shadows. He walked up to a closed door and slipped the wire underneath it before shadow stepping under it materializing on the other side while the vampire in the bed was distracted by his now unconscious victim. He picked up the wire and coiled it around both his hands and slow steps took him closer to his prey. The vampire hung over her, his jaws clinging to his victims neck as her blood pumped into his mouth and spilled onto the sheets staining them. He crept up behind him and waited for him to finish and pull his head away from her neck. Cyrus crossed his arms and looped the wire around his neck as soon as there was space to do so. He then quickly uncrossed his arms forcing the wire to cross at the back of the vampires’ neck before pulling it tight around his throat. The creature panicked and hissed attempting to throw him off. Cyrus growled and got his footing hauling the creature off its feet and slamming it to the ground placing his knees on its back and pulling the wire until his hands smoked. The wire bit into the creatures flesh causing it’s own blood to spill over onto the floor. It wasn’t easy to pull it through as the creature franticly thrashed about on the floor trying to get free as the wire bit deeper and deeper into him. Red eyes filled with hate zeroed in on the kill and his strength pulled the Vampire closer to its demise.

Eventually the wire hit something hard and Cyrus jerked and twisted the wire until a sickening tear and pop was heard pulling the wire from the back of the vampires neck and watching it role away over a now very blood stained floor. Cyrus smiled at his work and stood up and walked confidently to the door opening it up and walking back out into the hallways. He could still hear the pounding of the music from downstairs and see a faint pattern of light cast on the wall in front of the stairs leading down. This place was filled with them he just knew it. This was just one hallways, then there was downstairs and all the humans who thought they were their masters. He let out a long breath as he thought of large mansion. There was probably also a basement. It was going to be a long night he thought to himself, but a fun one.

Aphrodite Digiovanni was a strange woman, to say at the least. She always had been strange for as long as she could remember. As a child, she didn’t like to play with dolls, dress up or play girly things. No. She wanted action figures, play in the mud, and get rough. She wasn’t into getting married, or dating, or even into boys either. While most kids were into dinosaurs or animals, she was into vampires, ghosts, and ghouls. Kids made fun of her for that, and made her into an outcast. Aphrodite hated them for that, and would get violent against them, when they teased her. Of course things changed when she grew up into a teenager. Boys and some girls started to notice her, and she would notice them. But she still was still different from them. When she wasn’t studying, she went out on trips with her father, which would last weeks at a time. What were these trips? They were hunting missions, to rid the world of evil and darkness. Aphrodite Digiovanni was a hunter, born and raised, and she’ll die a hunter. She was proud of this, and will always be proud of this. But the job did have a lot of drawbacks. There was plenty of death, blood, gore, heartbreak, and evil. Even though she was only 25, Aphrodite felt much older than that.

The young woman looked up at the moon, barely seeing it, thanks to the city lights. Aphrodite wasn’t fan of big cities. They were more dangerous, they smelled, most had smog, and you couldn’t see the stars anymore. Aphrodite was born in Houston Texas, but she lived in the country part, where the farms were. It was much cleaner and prettier there. But Aphrodite wasn’t in the city to see the sights, nope. She was here, to destroy a vampire nest. She heard it through the grape vine, that there was one nearby. Aphrodite didn’t like a lot of supernatural beings, some of them were good, but most of them were bad. She hated vampires, they were life taking creatures that didn’t give a damn about others or things they did. She never met a good vampire, nor would she ever. There was no such thing as good vampire. Their hearts, if they have one are black with darkness and evil. The twenty-five year old hunter dealt with vampires before. It wasn’t easy to kill them; there wasn’t many ways to kill them. Decapitation and an Angel’s touch was the main ways to kill them. But the older the vampire is the harder it is to kill.

Aphrodite brought a cigarette to her lips, and took a drag. She closed her eyes, and looked at the time. It wasn’t that late out, the night just begun. She pushed herself off the tree she was leaning against, and made her way toward the two story house, it was more like a mansion than a house. The bigger the house, the bigger the vampires nest. It was going to be a huge hassle and fight to kill all or at least most of the vampires. She pulled the axe strapped to her back, making sure it was secure and ready for use. Then she laid her hand over the sword strapped to her hip, it was also ready for use. She glanced at her belt; there were several vials of dead man’s blood. Dead man’s blood didn’t kill a vampire, only made them very weak. It gave them blood illness. This would help her out a lot. The weaker she made the vampire’s the easier she could kill them. She wouldn’t use all the vials here, no. She would use about 5 of the vials here, then save the rest for another vampire hunt.

As she got close to the house, she heard hear music, pounding from the speakers. The music was a cover up for the vampire feast. She made a face. The vampires’ pets were bringing in meals for them. Stupid wannabe vampires! Ever since the crazy of Twilight came out, everyone wanted to be a vampire. She shook her head. She hated the damn book and the following books for brainwashing people into thinking vampires were beautiful and sexy creatures. Vampires were not sexy or beautiful. They were ugly, disgusting and very lazy creatures. But they were strong, and some of them were smart. But most vampires were stupid, at least to her they were. She sighed as she snuck into the house, with ease. Years of practice were her excuse, but it was luck she got in without being caught. She got in through the basement, which was empty. That surprised her. She thought vampires would be all over the place. She pulled the axe from her back, checking the sharpness. She grinned; it was sharp, and ready to cut off heads.

She stealthily made her way up the stairs; the music was covering her footsteps and breathing. The other scents of humans was covering her scent was well. She got on top of the stairs, Aphrodite spotted her first vampire. He had a man up against the wall, and was about to feed. She swung her axe with practiced grace, and aimed for the vampire’s neck. The sound of flesh and bone being torn and severed was heard. Blood sprayed everywhere, was the head of the vampire was removed from the body. It flew into the air, and landed a few feet away from the body. The vampire’s body fell to the ground with a thump. Aphrodite looked at the petrified human male. “Get out of here” She nodded to the door. “NOW” She ordered. He nodded and scrambled away from her, covered in the vampire’s blood. She moved her way down a hall, stopping at a bedroom. She opened the door, and made a face. Two vampires were feeding this time. She cursed as she was caught, in the door way. A male vampire lunged for her. Aphrodite moved out of the way, and watched as he crashed into the door. The other vampire, a female lunged for her next. Aphrodite brought up her axe, and slashed it against the female vampire’s neck, beheading her. She closed her eyes as the blood sprayed everywhere, on her, the walls, floor and bed. She turned her gaze to the male; he was out like a light. He was easy prey, she beheaded him as well.

She felt the room, and ventured back into the hall. It was going to be a LONG night. She had to get rid of the vampires on the first floor, before she went to the 2nd floor. She gripped her axe tightly as she went to the next room, it was empty. She gave a sigh of relief, as she left the empty room. She came across the kitchen and paled. There was human blood everywhere. Vampires were so messy with their meals. She gave a grunt of disgust. She checked all the first floor bathrooms, and saw they were empty. Not surprising, who would want to feed in the bathroom? Not only did it sound disgusting but it was disgusting. Blood dripped from her axe, from the three vampires she killed so far. She made it to the stairs leading up to the second floor, and looked up. Should she go up the stairs and investigate or stay down here, and kill the rest of the vampires like she planned?

She decided to stay down; the 2nd floor would have to wait. She passed the stairs and came to another bedroom. She cursed as she found it locked. She jiggled the doorknob and pounded on the door. No one would answer. She was about to break down the door, when she was grabbed. A hand came to the back of her neck, and lifted her into the air. She struggled, and dropped her axe. From the corner of her eye, she could see a vampire had her. He smirked and threw her into a wall. She groaned as she felt the hard concrete met her back and head. She slid down the wall, and glared as the male vampire picked her up and threw her sword aside, so she couldn’t use it on her. He pinned her against the wall, making her arms and legs useless. “You killed my friends, bitch” He snarled in her face. She glared at him. “Don’t worry, I’ll kill you too” She snapped. He slapped her for that, and she hissed. That fucking hurt. He leaned down to bite, but snarled as she head butted him. This caused him to let her go for a moment. But the moment was all she needed. She pushed herself away from the wall. She made a dash for her sword, and snatched it off the floor. She turned to face the vampire, and grinned. “Close your eyes, and I’ll give you a kiss” She taunted as she swung her sword and beheaded him. Now she was soaked head to toe in vampire blood. She kicked the vampire’s head away from her and sighed. “Fucking hell, my head hurts” She couldn’t tell if she was bleeding, or not. She would find out after she took a bath.

She moved back to the stairs, leading up to the 2nd floor. She walked up them, trying to be quiet, even with the music. There were still vampires downstairs, but she had to hide for a few minutes. The bodies will be discovered soon, and they will be searching for her. As she made it to the top of the stairs, Aphrodite caught sight of a male with vampire blood all over him. She frowned as she gripped her sword and axe in either hand. She could tell this male, wasn’t human, but he wasn’t vampire either. “What are you doing here? It’s dangerous, get out of here.” She ordered, for his protection. The fewer humans were here the better. People got in the way, when it came to vampire, whether it was the pet or the meal, they were bothersome.

He stopped in his tracks at the command. He was a little bit amused at the circumstance of another hunter being here of all days, turns out he wasn’t the only one who disliked vampires. He just hoped this hunter wouldn’t be an annoyance he’d have to deal with. The house was filled with the creatures and he didn’t need them to be alerted by a vigilant hunter. He turned on his heel to see who gave the command. He tilted his head as he took her in. She was attractive for a human and stood covered in blood from head to toe, one hand held a sword, the other an ax both of which were bloody. He sniffed the air and sensed hardly any fear from her as se held her ground. He gave a quick smile.

“No human, it is not safe for you. As for me, I have no reason to fear these creatures.” His eyes glowed red in the dark hallway as he made his way towards her. One thing he did note was that she had a weapon, a weapon he could use. He walked a few silent steps towards her before shadow stepping directly in front of her peering into her eyes. “You are a hunter correct? As am I, we seem to be hunting the same query.” He grinned as he eyed her, a challenge daring her to strike against him almost. He took his eyes of her for a moment and looked down the hallway. ”Up the hallway, there is one feeding we need to remain quite.” No sooner were the words out of his mouth he heard a shriek from downstairs. They had just lost the element of surprise as the vampire he was referring to burst forth from the room his chin and chest covered in blood from the meal he had gorged on moments ago.

The creature moved towards them with incredible speed almost impossible to follow as it griped onto Cyrus’ neck and slammed him into the wall his hand griping tight to snap his neck. When the creature finally decided to see what it was trying to kill it cocked his head in confusion to the glowing eyes in time to see Cyrus disappear from sight. He re-appeared behind the creature and slammed his foot into its back forcing it against the wall pinning it there and looking to the blood drenched girl. “Take the damn things head!” He spoke above the building noise knowing they had to move quickly or be swarmed.

Aph looked at him, as he approached her. She gripped her axe, ready to defend herself against him. She didn't know what he was, so she didn't know if he was good or bad. She frowned as he shadow stepped in front of her. She let out a growl of frustration. She didn't know what he was and what just did confused the hell out of her. He wasn't a demon, he didn't smell like sulfur at all. But she was covered in blood, so all she could smell was blood. "I don't fear these creatures either." She retorted. Wonderful, it was bad enough she had to watch out for herself, now she had this....thing to eye like a hawk.

She looked at him and tilted her head to the side. She began to look him over, and take in his appearance. Even covered in blood, he was attractive. But to Aphrodite a lot of people were attractive. She somewhat relaxed when she realized he was there to destroy the vampires. But she still didn't trust him, nor will she ever trust him. He wasn't human, he was......well. he was something that she didn't understand. She will talk to him later about him. "No, I'n not a hunter. I'm a civilian, looking for a good time" She said with a frown. She didn't mean to sound like a bitch, but she was crabby and sore.

When the vampire rushed at them, and targeted Cyrus first, Aphrodite got ready to save Cyrus. But then Cyrus disappeared and reappeared behind the vampire. She stood there shocked for a moment, before shaking her head. She gripped her axe in her hand, and swung it, with power and grace. There was the crunching of bone and thick tendons and the slicing of flesh muscle. Once again, blood sprayed everyone. On the walls, ceiling, doors, and floor, it was every where. She shook her head and closed her eyes to keep the blood out of them. "God damn" She was getting tired from beheading so many vampires.
