Hi, you can call me Red, I'm 22 years old, going to be 23 this summer. I've been role playing for six years or so. I haven't done any board based role playing in about a year (Table top ftw) but I'm really excited to get back into it. I'm really down to earth and kind. I'm a huge nerd. Any questions just ask, it's easiest to get a hold of me through PM. I'm up for mature content. Oh, and I found you on RPG-D.
LISTS

personality
Danica's always had a love for animals. As a girl she would always catch snakes and frogs and bring them home. They lived in a small house and she was never allowed to have anything more than a turtle, but she loved the turtle dearly. Growing up she never had a large group of friends, but she also never seemed to mind. She'd rather play with the neighbour’s dog then go to a party. She was always just more comfortable with animals. She wasn't really a shy girl, she just preferred not to socialize. If someone was stepping on her toes she was sure to let them know.

When Danica left for University her personality really began to blossom, Her roommate was a complete slob. It wasn’t long before Danica developed into a complete neat freak. She was always washing her hands and she couldn’t enter a room and not clean it. This was also when the “bitch side” in her started to come out. While her roommate spent all night at parties and getting drunk, Danica pulled all nighters studying and got up early for class. She became far more responsible and disliked having to babysit anyone. With the lack of sleep she lost a lot of her patients and could get a little snippy from time to time. She wasn’t mean or anything, she just refused to take crap from another.

She can come off as cold and uncaring sometimes. She is just not a very emotional person. She gets frustrated easily when dealing with people, but that’s about it. On the rare occasions when she has become emotional, she doesn’t let it show. She’s only human however, so she does burst from time to time. When she does, she likes to be somewhere alone. Nearly all the men in her life, except her father and her dog, have hurt her. This has lead to her fair share of trust issues. She likes to keep her relationships business oriented.

Danica’s personality hasn’t changed much. She’s still a neat freak and still very professional in almost every aspect of her life. She has become a little more open to socializing with people over the past year. She has even grown to care deeply for a few people and a few creatures that aren’t entirely human. It’s these relationships that have compelled her to get in contact with her family back home. They’re not even close to the family they used to be, but it’s a start. Danica’s even taken time from work and hunting to make a few trips back home to visit them.

Danica’s hunting experiences have affected her in a surprising way. If anything they’ve made her more moody. At first she thought she was doing an amazing job of walking away from a life that sucked others in, a life she wasn’t cut out for. No part of her actually wants to pack up and run off to be the hero. She looks at hunting as a chore, something she has to in order to learn how to properly defend herself. As soon as she’s satisfied with her knowledge and hunting ability she plans to retire and try her hand at living a normal life again. It’s not that she doesn’t want to save people; it’s just that she doesn’t think it’s her job. She hates feeling like a baby sitter. She believes that if someone is ignorant to the supernatural they should be allowed to live in that blissful ignorance. However if they know what’s out there, it’s their own responsibility to pick up a book and learn how to take care of themselves. She’s using hunting as a way to learn to defend herself and those she cares about, but she won’t turn her back if she runs into someone who needs saving, she’s just not going to be happy about it.

Danica has also developed a distrust and dislike for other hunters. She has some controversial views on some of the creatures they hunt. She refuses “hunt blindly” as she would put it. She likes to learn everything about the creatures she’s hunting. She looks at many supernatural creatures in the same way she looks at wild animals. She believes some of them really do have the right to hunt and live. Some of them can’t help what they are. She loves dogs, but if one became aggressive and bit her without cause, she would put it down. She looks at some creatures in the same light. However some simply need to be exterminated without question, but basically if she doesn’t have to kill something, she won’t. This has lead to several, sometimes violent, encounters with hunters. Nearly every hunter she has ever met has been basically a miserable human being because it’s what the life turns you into. Though on occasion she has been known to help a fellow hunter, even if it’s one she doesn’t like. Her boss turns a blind eye to injured people coming into the clinc after hours, because sometimes you just can’t go to a hospital.

history
Danica was a perfectly normal child. She was born on February the 26th to Mark and Crystal Valentine. Mark was a police officer and Crystal was a stay at home mom. They lived in a small town house in Victoria B.C. with their other daughter Nichol. Danica was three when Nichol, or Niki as she liked to be called, was born.

In high school Danica was in the middle of the hierarchy. She knew a few of the popular kids and a few of the unpopular. No one really hated her, but at the same time she wasn’t really close to anyone. That’s the way she always was, lots of acquaintances, no close friends. She got invited to her fair share of parties, though she hardly ever went to any. There wasn't a lot of things Danica would get into with her father being a cop. It didn't really bother her though she was the type of girl who preferred to focus on her studies. She loved science and computers. She wasn't exactly a straight A student, but she excelled in biology and anything that involved a computer. She was also on the track team.

Danica had a few boyfriends, but nothing you would call a steady, serious relationship. Until she got to university. She had gotten a scholarship to attend the University of Victoria. Her parents were thrilled that she was able to attend such a good school and so close to home. She was studying to become a veterinarian. During her first year she met her first serious boyfriend, Jake. They dated for two years before they had a bad break-up. Jake had cheated on her with her roommate at a party.

Danica swore of dating and after eight years of schooling she graduated. She got a job as a vet and began her work. She got her own apartment just above her veterinarian office and started her new life. She kept in touch with family and friends, but had no time to look for a husband like her mother wanted. She didn't really want a husband, though a few guys asked for her number only one was persistent. His name was Daniel Harker. He brought in his dog quite often for check-ups, just to see her. She turned him down repeatedly and she could tell he was getting a little frustrated with his failed attempts.

One night she was woken up by dogs barking down stairs. She got up, put on her robe and went to go check it out. In her office she found a man looking through the drugs, naturally she assumed he was a drug addict. She threatened to call the cops. The man tried to explain that he wasn't there to steal anything, but Danica never believed him. They were interrupted by a loud crash, like a window being broken. She heard a growl and went to go see what it was, the man tried to stop her, but she'd already thrown the door open. There stood Daniel, glaring at her. She took a step back, there was something about his eyes. At first she thought he was on some kind of drugs, he looked crazed. As he stepped forward, practically frothing at the mouth she saw his sharp teeth. This couldn't make sense.

The man shot at the creature, wounding it, before he grabbed Danica by the arm and dragged her out to his car. He tried his best to explain that the growling mess of fur they had left in her office was her friend Daniel. The dog he brought in for check-ups wasn’t a real dog either, just another shape-shifter. There was some sort of instinct inside Daniel. As a man he had a crush on Danica, and for some reason even in his wolf side he wanted to track her down. The hunter, Christopher, suggested it was far safer to stick with him, at least until they were able to kill the beast.

A few nights later, while Christopher was out, Danica took the opportunity to go through his notes. There wasn't much written about werewolves. They weren't the same as they were portrayed in movies. The thought occurred that Daniel didn't even know what he was doing. Her thought were interrupted by a scratching at their motel door. Slowly she crept forward and turned the knob. Daniel was there, or more accurately the beast. He stood ready to pounce as Chris strolled up behind him, firing his weapon into his back. Daniel turned and attacked. While they were preoccupied Danica turned to the gun Chris had left on her night side table. Being the daughter of a cop, she knew how to use a gun, not well, but well enough. Squeezing her eyes shut her pointed and shot. The first bullet actually hit Chris in the shoulder, the second passed through the beast’s ear and the third hit its heart as it turned around. It was the first thing she had ever killed

Christopher could not believe she had shot at him with her eyes closed. Danica only scoffed as she patched him up. She couldn't believe he had left her at the motel as bait. He had, after all, responded very quickly. He had to have been waiting outside. Christopher laugh, she wasn’t a total useless damsel in distress. She knew a little about medicine, she was clever, she could… sort of shoot. He gave her the option of traveling around with him. She didn’t ever want to be helpless again, so she accepted. They traveled together for a few months. She learned the ropes as quickly as she could, but also found herself developing feelings for Chris. It wasn’t long before the two were sharing a bed.

For a few more months Danica travel shot gun. She began to miss her office. She was beginning to suspect she wasn’t cut out for this life. Falling for Christopher made her wonder if she could ever settle down with him. One night she confessed her feelings. She told him that she loved him, that she wanted to have a life, that she worried she wasn’t cut out for this life. Chris told her he loved her too and that they could talk about it in the morning. They never did. The next morning Chris had packed her bags and left. Danica decided to go back to work.

She had no idea what to tell her parents. When her office was trashed and she went missing they assumed the worse. She didn’t know how to explain that she was fine. So she didn’t explain anything. She just told them she was okay and that she was moving. She moved to New Jersey and began working in another Veterinarian office.

After the haunting that took place in Danica’s veterinary clinc and her run in with a vicious haunt she started to think. In her lifetime she had already encountered a werewolf, the spirit of an enraged witch and petrifying haunt. All she had wanted was a to live a normal life and spend all of her energy on her work. It was becoming perfectly clear to her that this was an impossible dream. She was going to run into things she didn’t want to believe if whether she wanted to or not. She refused to allow herself to be unprepared. So she started educating herself as best as she could and she hit the road.

She had some experience with hunting already from her time with Christopher. She had already learned the tricks of finding a hunt, how to investigate, she had even participated in a few of the kills, although that was where she was the most rusty. She had a bit of help from her friend Matteus when she got in over her head and needed information. Still Danica stubbornly refused to give up on having her normal life and dream job. She had a lunch meeting with her boss, the owner of the clinc, who had been aware of the haunting her and Matteus had taken care of. He was still extremely grateful and said he would allow her to work part time, as many hours as she needed. When Danica had finished a hunt she would return home for a break and call him up. He would work out a schedule for her to pick up a few clients before she was on the road again looking for another hunt.

Danica didn’t know much about the apocalypse. She met a few hunters, even a demon or two, who mentioned it. All Danica knew was that more and more creatures were popping up around the world and she wasn’t going to leave herself undefended. She picked up a few things, but manly she only ran into angry spirits, a few ghouls and a demon or two. She made a few allies with some hunters and made a new agreement with her boss. Every now and again she would get a call from a hunter who was injured on the job and couldn’t go to the hospital. Sometimes it was because they had a long list of felonies (breaking and entering, impersonating an officer of the law, grave robbing, the usual). Her boss would look the other way if she needed the equipment at the clinc to patch them up.

Not much changed after the apocalypse. She heard whispers that it was over. Danica returned home and her hunts got less frequent. Every now and again Danica would take a short vacation to seek out a hunt, in order to keep her skills sharp and to brush up on her techniques.

RP SAMPLE
Danica flipped open her cell phone and closed it again. She did this several times as she stared over the bar at the clock. It was 15 minutes past 9. 15 minutes late for her call. She gave up and slipped the cell phone into her pocket. If she called, she called. If she didn't she didn't. Perhaps Nicki had finally taken the advice of their mother and father. Maybe she finally believe that Danica's "career" held more importance then her family. Leaving Canada to come to the states still stung her parents a lot, but it was a lot easier this way. It was a lot easier to lie to them about what she was really doing if she was father away. She was still a veterinarian, just in a different country as far as anyone else knew.

She tapped her nails on the mahogany surface in front of her. Curling her feet backward and hooking them over the back legs of the stool she sat on. The atmosphere in here felt thick and hazy in her. The temperature was rising from the collective body heat of everyone in the room. To be honest this place almost made her skin crawl. She hated sleazy bars. The smell of beer and whiskey filled her nose, it was one of the few smells that actually bothered her. Finally she ordered a drink. A screwdriver, so boring, she thought to herself. She might as well be at home, curled up on the couch with her German Sheppard, drinking orange juice. She had a story prepared though, and this was the sort of atmosphere she needed. In Nicki decided to call, she would talk to her for a bit. Nicki would hear the noise of the bar in the background. She would explain that she was out having a few drinks with some friends and that she had to go. It was better for her that way. Just enough to keep in touch, but not enough to get too close.

As she sipped her drink, she noticed a man at the end of the bar, staring at her. She felt an odd shiver run through her. It almost felt like light greasy fingers slowly inching down her back. She tried to ignore him, but she began to grow increasingly up uncomfortable. Hastily Danica threw a bill on the counter, probably far more than what the drink had cost. She hated American money, it all looked the same. She slipped from her chair and abruptly turned towards the door. She quickened her pace, stealing a backwards glance at the man. He wasn’t there anymore. Before she could turn her attention back to where she was going she felt her body collide with another. She felt a cold drink being spilled over her arm as she lost her balance and toppled to the floor.

Hey Red, and welcome to Swan Song!

Overall, this is a very good app, and it won't take much work to have you approved and playing. In fact, there are only a couple very minor edits that I need to see:

1. I need you to put your age in the "Player" section.

2. How did Danica know that what she was seeing in her office was a werewolf? Keep in mind that in SPN, basic werewolves don't really look like the typical, "classic" werewolf; in fact, they don't look much different than normal human beings, and they have no memory of being a werewolf when they're back in their human forms. Here on SS, we have a subgroup for werewolves called loup garou, and they're more like your classic werewolf: they can assume the shape of a wolf at the full moon, and at will any other time. Keep in mind though, that in their wolf form they look just like that: a wolf, not a human/wolf hybrid. So whichever you choose, make sure you adjust your history accordingly please.

That's really about it for this one, so one you make the edits just leave another reply and I'll take another look!
