As y'all know, I love books on writing. But lately I've shifted my focus from books on writing books to books on selling or marketing books.

I found a couple comments in one not long ago that really hit home. I've combined the two comments to make a "reminder" and printed it out so that I see it often throughout the day.

Here's the "reminder."

"I am 100% responsible for the success of my writing career, 100% of the time."

I took this and typed it so that's it's in the shape of a tree. Very cool by the way. I printed it on colored paper, used clear packing tape to seal it and made several bookmarks. I have one on the monitor too.

Then....I did the same thing on a regular sheet of paper...again in the tree shape and added "What have I done today toward that success?" under neath. This one, I've got hanging on my corkboard next to my desk.

Needless to say...one goal for the upcoming year is to do something toward that success as often as possible.

Very cool. I've come up with a line for my workshop and The Aspiring Author blog:

"You have the power to make your dreams come true. Use it!"
