I came across a little news story that metioned teams in new USL teams in Canada and Detroit. Sorry but I lost the link.

DETROIT!!! No offense but it seems that be a lousy place to put a team right now. Unemployement is around 25% if not higher and it seems unlikely to be improving anytime soon.

So dollars for donuts the USL puts a team their and ends up running it by years end. :wank: :wank: :bang: :bang: Seen it before.....to many times.

The new clubs in Canada were mentioned in the Beaverton meeting release as Ottawa and Edmonton. Hamilton, ON looks to be in the picture with Toronto getting the Pan Am games which part of the facilities structure was to build a new soccer stadium in Hamilton for the Games.
As for Detroit. I believe it was the intention of th PDL Michigan Bucks to come up to the USL 1 level. They have a nice indoor facility and are looking to build a new place or use one of the local colleges to play at, but with the purchase of the Silverdome of a Toronto based group who want to look at bringing Pro soccer to Detroit I think this may be a good place for the Bucks to play. Even IF this group gets a MLS squad or even a NASL club I would like to see it used as a dual home for the Bucks and whatever other club comes into the dome.
