Heya guys,

I know there are a few of you who have signed up the the Myfootballclub website and I have tried to message a few of you on there however I thought it best going to the source of where you post! (for some reason it wouldnt let me register!)

Anyways I am coming out there in November for a couple of Steelers games (Chargers and Bengals) I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the best way to get tickets or join a tailgate party before the game? I know its pretty impossible but thought id best message you guys seee if you have any advice,

Thanks in advance,
Felix

Wow....Steeler tix, good luck. You can try to scalp them as a last gasp measure, but if the Steelers are anywhere near good at the time the scalpers will rake you over the coals. The best way to go would probably be Stubhub or some other on-line site. At least then you would have the tickets before coming to the city.

As for tailgating you can pretty much join in with anyone. Steeler fans are pretty friendly as long as you are wearing black and gold and if you walk around the lots I am sure you will make some friends.

Felix,
I look into why you couldn't register. That's weird.

There are several of us who are members. I don't post on there though, just watch the games.

As for tickets, good luck unless you can buck up some good money. If you're willing, you can do a tailgate yourself down at the stadium. There's a good chance I'll be going to several games this year and if I go to either of them, you could tailgate with me. Hell, I love tailgating so much maybe I'll go down and have a tailgate and then drive home!

You also might want to try going and trying to get one outside. I went to several games last year for about $20-$40 simply waiting till kickoff and then look for people desperate to get rid of theirs.

If not, there's a lot of bars in the area you could watch the game on TV at.

Felix, I suggest you use that service to secue your tickets for those two games...might not be the cheapest price but it's safe and 100% legit

i'm pretty sure i voted for you for the board... I would say try the ticket exchange then, if you don't like whats there, you can always go and tailgate then buy tickets off the scalpers just after the kick off. Also if you are in pittsburgh on any epl days you should go to pipers pub...

www.piperspub.com

I would try to hit up the games with you but i just moved to NYC so i need to find a steelers bar out here.

unless you have season tickets with a parking license, you can't park in any of the lots near the stadium.

I was in Pittsburgh a couple of years ago, unfortunately it was the year after we won the Superbowl (not unfortunately that we won it of course!) But unfortunately that I was only there for the opening game of the season which was against the Dolphins, tickets were riduculously high from all the scalpers so I just ended up going to a bar nearby as I got a bit freaked out by the sheer size of the tailgating parties and being a lone brit in my steelers jersey I just didnt grow the balls to go and join in with people so I went to a bar and then came back to try and get some tickets off scalpers trying to offload them, however they had all sold them! So didnt manage any!

Let me know when you have some idea about when I can register as would like to get a bit more involved

I doubt I would be likely to find tickets for $20-40 for either the Chargers or Bengals games outside though?

Cool thanks for the vote! Im flying into NYC and spending some time there with a friend of mine who lives out there but couldnt go out there without the Steelers being my main focus of the trip! Did you vote on the Akinde selling?

LOL yeah I am the guy from NFLUK, I post on there quite a lot and Im surprised that some of you from the States have heard about it! I actually just went onto MYFC and saw a link on the Pittsburgh thread and found it through there.

Have had a look at the Steelers Exchange and it seems good but also a bit Steep for tickets, does anyone know the face value of the club level seats?

As for pubs/bars in Pittsburgh I would be down there if I was there for an EPL game day however I think the only day that it would be likely to happen on would be Sunday and I would hope to be at the football, however last time I went to a bar on Polish Hill called Gooski's Bar and had a wicked night!

I doubt you'd get tickets that cheap for either of those... if you definitely want to go to a game I'd expect $200 and maybe luck out and get cheaper. Keep checking ebay and http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org

What's your story? Are you from PGH, just a Steelers fan, family here?

If you can't get tickets to one of the games, I'll gladly take you to a good bar to watch the game. I love tailgating. I would happily put together a tailgate (even if you then go into the game and I go to a bar to watch it, then meet up later). I am sure to SA will come out too if grilled meat and beer is involved.

I get lots of tickets from work. How many are you looking for? I can't promise anything...but we may be able to work something out.

Felix is a legend...the guy comes all the way from the UK and winds up at Gooskis! Fucking brilliant!!!

Anyways club level seats at Steeler games are usually around $150-$200 a piece at face value for a season ticket holder. That is what my buddy pays for his season tix.

$99 for the Bengals, or any sold out NFL game for that matter, is a good price.

Punk rock bar over on Polish Hill. Good times, good people, and cheap beer. I haven't been there in ages, but it is a Pgh. landmark.

Sorry in advance for the mini-essay!

No Im not from PGH or have any family out there, I got into the NFL about 6 or so years ago and after watching it for the latter part of a season, I finally decided that my team was the Steelers (this was after seeing them crash out in Overtime in the Playoffs to the Titans in 2002) and I was gutted that they didnt get through as they played great football and seemed to have lots of spirit. (I was watching it with a Raider and a Patriot and wouldnt have been able to point where Pittsburgh was at the time!) I did some travelling 2 years ago (when I turned 21) around the states and went over to Pittsburgh with the intention to see the Steelers play (didnt happen due to us being champions) and also to see Crosby Stills Nash & Young which I did manage to see and loved! I also loved the city on my travels and specifically the way that it turns into a sea of black and gold on gameday!

As for tickets wise it would only be myself going out there to the games, I am flying into NYC after work on Friday and getting over to Pittsburgh for Sunday morning and staying through to Friday morning so that I can catch the games.

As for Gooski's last time I was out there I messaged a band from Pittsburgh that I know about (Modey Lemon) and they told me to check it out, I thought it was great although there were a lot of jokes I didnt really understand such as Whitey gone missing? They told me it was about the chef running off???
