In the mood for some good food and football? Not to mention some excellent coffee first thing in the morning.

Piper's Pub on East Carson Street is your destination!

Door opens 15 minutes before the early morning matches.

You know I used to go there all the time, then stopped because I got Fox Sports and was able to watch the games at home. I miss the fun of the bar though. Expect to see me there soon!

I do the same. I can't get out of bed most of the time since I have the same games here on my TV. I always make it a point to go down...but then I see my coffee maker and my Chelsea blanket and I can't do it.

Have to get back in the habit.

Seriously ignore your cable and drag your friends if you can. I got a few of my friends to wear white and join me for the first Tottenham game of the year. That didn't turn out but still it helped to support an outstanding bar so help support one of the best soccer establishments in the Burgh. I can't wait to stop by after Hounds matches when the Bottleshop is too crowded.

At the last meeting I got there a bit early and hadn't eaten all day so I ordered the Rueben. It had to be the best Rueben EVER. I swear there was enough kraut for 2 Ruebens. Fantastic portions for what they charged me.
Then my tounge became swallon the next day. I guess I got a reaction from the kraut.

Your email made me talk my wife into having Reubens for dinner.

I'm trying to confirm a date with Drew at Piper's now. I believe he's on vacation but we're tentatively going for the 3rd Thursday in February. Since the crowd for the 3rd meeting may be significantly larger than the first two I want to make sure he's cool with the gathering.

We'll start a new thread when we're all set.

*sigh*
I guess we'll post information about the meetings on here.

BP ... I'll make sure your e-mail address gets added to the Steel Army distribution list from gmail.com. Eddie has put together some nice recaps after the first two meetings.

I also want to add that this board has been a god send for me to be able to keep up and talk soccer with the people I know from Pipers since I dont get to see them much now that I live in Ohio!

Dont get me wrong I love my pub and the people who frequent it out here.....but you can never have too many people to talk to about the beautiful game.

 to the :steelarmy:

I saw on the Piper blog that there is a link to THE STEEL ARMY!

damn I checked out the menu today, I've got to get down there asap...where exactly on Carson is it? Up near Jacks or down the other direction?

I think that I *might* have been there like 5 or 6 years ago on the night it opened...we were walking back to our car after getting tossed out of this bar on like 9th and Sara and I heard some pipes...we stopped in for a Killians, proceded to drive home, my buddy wrecked his car...we were somewhere in BonAir hitting golf balls down a street (neighborhood) and finally the cops came...i still cannot believe that we did not get arrested that night

Pipers is in between 18th and 19th Street, right next to the Burger King, and across the street from Fat Heads.
