We are a mature role play based on the world of Vampire Diaries. We pick up from the end of season two and then take our own route. There are some changes so please read the premise. We may follow some of the show plots but will also come up with our own with new characters to incorporate. Building onto the world with our own adventures and lore.

Welcome to Stand United, a Vampire Diaries rp that takes place in Mystic Falls. I know you just want to get to the actual role playing, but please take the time to just read (or skim over) these rules before starting. there's not many, don't worry.
ONE Please please respect both the admins and the members of this site, regardless of whether you are a member yourself or just a guest who is stopping by. Please don't start fights out of character, I'm sure everyone would like brand new eyes to see a fun and friendly place, not a living hell.
TWO When you register, please use the first and last name of the character you are applying for. Capitalization doesn't really matter. Middle names are up to you, but not required.
THREE Registering a name is not a reserve. If there is a character you want, on the canon list or not, you must reserve them. If they are not listed, request them anyway. We will purge all accounts every thirty days. Meaning if you have registered and not applied in that time period, your account will be deleted.
FOUR If you are considering one of our canon characters there are two big things you should know. First of all, in order to stay active as a canon you will need to be able to post at least twice a week. We are very lucky to have active members and plots so you can easily fall behind on even two posts a week. However that is the minimum in order to keep a canon. Secondly, some canons may have been played in game a bit. So after reserving you may wish to PM Victoria for details and check out the updated plot information as well.
FIVE Before you even consider role playing, please post your application and wait to be accepted. Whoa, wait, before you protest, it's short and easy. Relax. We are also a site that accepts both show and book canon as well as originals so get creative!
SIX Here at Stand United, we don't have a high word count. Asking for around 250 a post. Mainly because Victoria is lazy and this is her site. So all we ask is that you try to match the posts of the person you're role playing with and have fun. We won't be ogres about it, though.
SEVEN One thing that drives us crazy is god modding. Please please don't do it. For those of you who aren't quite sure on what it is, it's basically controlling someone else's character, their thoughts, feelings or actions. Just don't do it, please please please.
EIGHT So, original characters. Fun right? The thing is, we would ask that original characters be just that, original! Please don't just take a character type and write them up. By that we mean those cookie cutter, good girl gone bad, bad boy that has a soft spot. Give them something real! Flesh them out. Make them real and unique. In a fun way, not in a "I've lived through every drama possible" kind of way.
NINE So, this is a story about vampires, werewolves and their love interests, we get it. Relationships between all the characters are up in the air right now. However, it's very disappointing to staff when someone joins a site only after finding out the canon they want to 'hook up' with is free, and proceed to do a rather cliche relationship story line as all they are writing. You know the ones. S/He is evil but fell in love with a good guy and goes good! S/He is not sure if they are good or bad, will love show them? If you're only purpose is to join for your relationship, you may wish to rp privately rather than on a board where there is more character interaction. We want this to be a more well rounded group rather than focusing on only certain characters and their relationships.
TEN Almost done, sorry about this. Please do not stretch the board, either with your signatures or posts. Graphics should not be any larger than 500x300. Avatars can be as large as 200x200. No pictures in posts please? Just link if you need to show something. Those thread templates? Nifty! Also just more time consuming. If you want to use them fine, but the post should stand on it's own without the pretty pictures.
ELEVEN A rule I have always followed but sometimes comes as a surprise to people is the whole ICA=ICC. That's in character actions equal in character consequences. Simply put the things your character does not only have to be realistic to the place, time, and character, but will also have natural consequences. You get in a car accident, expect to be laid up for awhile! Murder spree? Someone will probably come for you.
TWELVE Just to be on the safe side, if you want a character turned, murdered, raped, pregnant, in an accident, run it past staff first. Most of the time we will okay it, we just want it to be done realistically. We also don't want a board full of pregnant people! It's role play, not a nursery!
THIRTEEN Finally, Stand United is an adults only board, the reason is that sex, drugs, violence, all part of the darker world we are playing in. You see we do not censor our members writing. We believe that a writer knows when they are done writing and so do not impose things such as high word counts, or censorship. If you find the darker topics in this genre offensive to write/read then, don't join, simple. Invisionfree requires you to be 13 to register, we, however, require you to be 18 in order to join this site. If you ignore this and sign up anyway, you will end up being deleted. We can not accept anyone that is not 18 years of age. Not close to, not almost, you must be 18.
