......of horror, the supernatural and the macabre, this is the month we see all those old horror, weird movies...cool! Obviously...Halloween...being the reason. When we talk about the great horror flicks, two stand out for me. One is...

The other...

When it comes to reading about the weird/strange, there are no authors who compare to Mervyn Peake, Edgar Alan Poe and H.P.Lovecraft. In my opinion anyway. This isn't sci fi. It's a world you move slowly in because there is no telling what's around the next turn. Gotta love it!

Was there ever an actor who played a character better than Max Schreck did as the Vampiric Count Orlok?

Sure...

When it comes to just creepy...

Can't ignore...

Someday I will read Monk Williams ...The Monk.....it really is a must. It always amazed me how a teenage girl Mary Shelley could have written Frankenstein. It was suppose to be some ghost writing contest while her and some other writers were at Lord Byron's Castle sometime around 1820 (?) or so. Never did find out if she won or not..haha!!!

Here's something you have probably never seen before, yes I was also shocked.

I used to be into old horror films as a kid. Lugosi's Dracula is the best portrayal of that character, I like Christopher Lee but Lugosi was born for the role

Nosferatu (1922) was one of my favourites. The way it was filmed adds to the creepiness. Suppose kids today would laugh and that tell me they could ''see the strings'' LOL

Haha, I didn't actually click on your links Brutal when I made my post, was just talking about some of my faves. But I see you've already got it covered!

Tod Browning is like the pioneer of horror films. I am a fan of John Carpenter and Wes Craven as the best of the modern bunch

Watched ''Saw III'' the other night on TV to see what all the fuss was about regarding those films. Just could not get into it at all, not my scene

We seem to share the same creepiness...hahahaha!!!!! I can read a western anywhere, even at work with people talking all around me. When it comes to Lovecraft, Poe etc it has to be done by a dim glow from a lamp beside the bed. Total quiet. Yes I have to be in a certain atmospeare. If it's raining/storming...cool!
