Alright! Registering should be easy, quick, and (hopefully) painless, so follow these simple rules and we won't have to use some sort of medieval torture device on you.

Patients: Firstname Lastname (Cory Andrews)
Guards: FirstInitial Lastname (C. Andrews)

Patients must be over 16, nurses must be over 22, and doctors must be over 27. The point is, just make your ages plausible.

Please post your application, mental health notes and claims BEFORE you begin playing.

Do not register and immediately ask to be the exception to any rule. However, suggestions for the board are accepted. In the Suggestions forum.

RATING

This site is rated R or Mature, whichever you prefer. The point is, you can't join if you're under 17. Sorry, no can do.

This also means that there will probably be some sex, graphic violence, and mature issues on the board. If you write this or plan to write this, please put [M] in the topic title. You can ask an admin if you don't know how.

APPLICATIONS

There's no limit on how many characters you can have, but they do all need to be active at any given time.

Please make your application within THREE DAYS of registering and fill it out as fully as possible. If you do not, you will be considered inactive and your application archived.

In-Character sanctions may be imposed for in-character things (e.g. Solitary confinement for patients, demotion of nurse/doctors, etc.)

No Mary Sues. No Marty Stus. No perfect characters, or characters with so much drama in their past that they're walking sob machines. Please research your character before you make them.

If your application is not complete, you may post it with [Pending] in the Title bar. Be sure to remove [Pending] when you are finished, however.

This is a Real Life Roleplay. This means that things must be plausible and able to happen in reality. This also means no Vampires, werewolves, wizards, or anything else that defies the law of physics.

Please post your application with 'Full Name' in the subject heading.

You may only use the same face claim as someone else, if your character is related to the original character. Please ask before just making up a relative, however.

POSTING AND ACTIVITY

Do not roleplay in first person and/or present tense. Third person past tense ONLY. Thank you.

Again. This is a Mature site. Act mature OOC as well as whenever you deal with other characters. Politeness.

No God-modding. Don't control other people's characters. Don't make your character super-whatever for no reason. Do not make your character do something they normally wouldn't because of OOC knowledge. If this is seen, please notify an admin and we will deal with the person in the appropriate manner. Do not do it.

Please use proper grammar and spelling. Please write as least 200 words per post, if possible. We understand that you can't do it all the time, but an average of 200 would be nice.

Killing/Maiming characters. Anything that cannot be healed in a week counts as serious injury; you must have permission from the character's owner in order to do this!

The 'like' and 'dislike' buttons are to express your character's views on a particular post/thread. It is a game, and the buttons should not be used to flame or express your own personal views on a thread. For more information, pleas see the games forum.

Put ((brackets like these for out of character))

If you plan on writing Sex or if you end up writing sex, put an [M] in the thread topic. If you can't figure out how, ask an Admin.

Stick to posting order. It's rude to not to.

Put [Open] in your topic description if it's an open thread. If not, assume it's closed and ask before posting.

Be active. At least once every 3-5 days, that means actually posting in an active thread with your character.

If you are planning on going away for a long period of time, let an Admin know and whomever you are roleplaying with. It wouldn't hurt to post in the going away thread.

There will be activity checks. These checks will span one week, and are REQUIRED. If you do not post in an activity check, you will be counted as inactive.

After two failed activity checks, your character will be banned from the site for site ditching.

OOC

I'm going to keep this pretty short. Basically, don't spam, flame, or cause any sort of drama.Don't harass people. It's just a pain to deal with all of that, coming from an admin standpoint, and we want people to have fun on the site! Also, keep drama out of the cbox. If you have an issue with someone, contact one of the admins, and we can help sort it out. One more thing: just use common sense. Don't advertise in the cbox. It's not cool. And we'll delete the post if it happens. So just don't do it, k?

SPECIAL AREAS

In the institution itself are special areas, accessible only after you have reached a certain number of posts, in most occasions.
The Basement: The basement is hidden below the hospital, and as such only a few know of its existence. You must have 75+ posts for the character that ventures into the basement. When you have reached 150+ posts, you may invite one person to join you, no matter how many posts that other person has. You may invite one more person every 75 posts.

This is your warning system.
1- Strike one, a friendly and nice PM informing you of what you did wrong and what you can do to fix it. You will get this either for behavioral reasons or for ignoring past PM's about important issues.
2- Strike two, less friendly PM explaining to you what you did wrong and also informing you that this is your second warning and that you are expected to comply.
3. Third strike, if this was baseball you would be out right now. Seeing as how this might be your last warning suits well. You will get a blunt PM from both the Admins telling you exactly what you are doing wrong and what you have to do to fix it in order stay.
4- Fourth strike, the fact that you actually made it this far surprises us. But either way, welcome to the "Write your character death" this is where you will get to write your characters death, and your character will be deleted from the site. You will be suspended for a amount of time decided by the admins. When the time is up, you may come back, but you have to make a different character. We will be watching you and it will be harder to get accepted.
5-Fifth strike. Congratulations, you're banned. Not just your characters but also you IP address. This is permanent, unless you can really kiss up to a mod or admin to vouch for you. Good luck in getting back, seriously, because I doubt that it will happen.
