Welcome to Smashville! While we are excited and happy to have you, it will not remain that way if some important rules are not followed.
Please take a moment to read through these rules so you don't end up breaking them without the knowledge that you are doing anything wrong.
1. Respect your fellow members. This means no posting of offensive content with the intention of causing trouble. This includes:
-
Flaming. Flaming is posting discriminatory content based on someone's race, religion, political party, writing ability, artistic ability, or Super Smash Bros. fighting ability. Anyone seeing flaming will be banned--there will be no second chances.
-
Pornography--the posting of any kind of sexually explicit images, videos, or writing over a PG-13 level will result in being banned from the site, no questions asked.
-
Spamming/Flooding, which is quite simply a series of nonsensical, hurtful, or inappropriate posts that are intended to cover the forum, making it impossible for people to see the new posts that are wanted. Spammers will be warned first, depending on the severity of the offense, and eventually greater action will be taken, if the problem continues.
-
Swearing, to an extent. There are certain words that will be removed from posts if seen and the poster warned. A list of those words can be obtained by sending a personal message to any administrator or moderator.
-
Invading privacy. Do not ask for other members' telephone numbers, email addresses, photos, MySpace URLs, Facebook names, etc., if they don't fell comfortable supplying them.
2. Stay on topic. If you're wondering whether something is relating to the topic of the board or not, contact an administrator or moderator and they will be glad to help you.
An example of going off-topic:
Bill: Did you see the SSBB update today?
Fred: Yeah, pretty awesome. I'm stoked for it.
John: I thought it was cool too. OMG! Did you see the new Harry Potter movie?
3. A moderator's word is final. Anyone found to be questioning a moderator's decision will be given a warning. However, if you have a question about a rule, or don't know how you've broken a rule, please contact an administrator immediately.
4. No promotion of your own site or product. There are many places on the internet to promote your own website--This is not one of them. A link in your signature or profile is permitted, but posts asking people to join your site will be deleted.
5. Your signature is to include a picture or some kind of notification of your main. In the Smashville Main Board, there is a thread where you can find images to use for this.
6. The chatbox is a privilege, not a right. There are some minor rules to the chatbox. They are as follows;
-Double posting. You can not post for than twice in a row.
-Impersonation. If you are caught impersonating someone, you will be banned for an hour.
-Names. Please refriam from using massive about of flashy smileys in your name.
Hopefully we can all follow these rules, and have a great time without any serious problems. Check back from time to time, as these rules will change as circumstances change.
Thanks!
