Claden could almost see his hopes for an interested customer flying away. Oh well, it was worth a shot... He shook his head quickly and smiled at her again. "Oh, don't worry about it. Seyruun's a big city, it's easy to get lost. Come on, the library's just a little ways down this road."

He gave her a big wave in the direction of the library, and then he turned and started walking down the street, casting a quick glance behind him at both his kiosk and Aedin.

QUOTE (LainaInverse @ Mar 29 2008, 01:02 AM)
(Gah! DX I swear, I check this every other day and where does my brain go? On vacation! And I'm going to second that "character limit" thing, since enmeshing isn't happening just yet.)

Lina had gotten so used to Xellos popping out of nowhere that she rolled her eyes.

"Great, as if the day could get more complicated," she sighed. "Whaddya want Xellos?"

People called her the bringer of chaos, but even she knew that she couldn't hold a candle to Xellos' skills. Though she'd never ever admit it to anyone! She rather liked her reputation. At least, she liked it most days, when it scared bandits.

"And yes Gourry, he is talking about you. And I was trying to forget about that one..."

(XD I don't have a clue sadly. My interaction is limited to a couple of movies, the TRY series and a ton of manga.)

~

She tugged her hood up a little more, looking down at the pendulum in her hands. Thanks to that unique spell she'd figured out she now had an easy way to determine Lina's direction, and followed it unerringly her excitement mounting the closer she got.

When she was a just around the corner, her heart was leaping into her throat, and that pure nervous energy made her stop and lean against a wall.

The white-sorceress looked down at her glove-coated hands, which were trembling in excitement and nervousness. Would Lina recognize her? Would she know her sister?

She took a deep breath, and pushed her hood back, allowing bright blond hair to tumble over her shoulders. Purple eyes looked up unseeing of the traffic as she fought to calm herself. It wouldn't do to sound like she was chasing Lina for revenge, goodness knew that her sister got more than enough of that on a regular basis...

Laina "Inverse" peaked around the corner and lit up as she spotted her target.

(LOL no worries. And I er...THIRD...my own suggestion xDDD And I love your Lina rofl. One of my best friends portrays her similarly.)

Xelloss folded his long lithe arms across his chest and attempted to give an offended "hmph." But the sound swiftly dissolved into a quietly deranged giggle, through his nose. Xelloss's "real" laugh, the high pitched chicken-clucking, not the haughty false chuckling, was definitely an...acquired taste. He usually laughed like this when he was genuinely amused by someone. Or in the middle of killing someone.

Yeah. Oh well.

He tipped his head back as if incredulous at her bluntness. Yet at the same time he was well aware she knew he was shitting her one hundred percent. Often her astuteness to his crafty side, which usually hindered his nasty little plots, annoyed him beyond comprehension. But at the moment he was enjoying a worthy sparring partner.

"I'm offended, Miss Dragon Spooker. What if I just dropped by to see how a couple of old friends were doing?"

He gestured eloquently at the two of them with a musician-fingered, gloved hand. Then he gathered his black cloak around him and shook out the wrinkles idly.

"Eh..Even though only one of you seems mentally present...and there's a third person I really can't recall at all. Er, hi there, I'm Xelloss, a priest of many mysteries, ditto ditto et cetera et cetera."

He bowed gracefully to the third party of Galda, then scratched the back of his neck . After a pause, he shrugged and peeped open one cat-slit eye.

"Oh, very well, my dear girl, I'll fess up. I'm here because first of all I was bored and bereft of a mission from the Beastmaster. Secondly, while I was on top of a church steeple being generally heretical--that is, sitting around smirking at the world--I noticed some holy magical force entering the city. I thought I'd warn you that it was headed your way, and, er, ask you to perhaps make it go shoo-shoo and bye-bye, since I don't want a damper put on my lazy and evil festivities for the day. Not that I can't get rid of it MYSELF, but, ahahah, why WOULD I, really, with you around, o fabulous sorceress of doom?"

After this long-winded prattling, at which the egomaniacal Xel was pretty much expert, he suddenly cocked his head wolfishly past the three humans and pointed at a peeping female around the corner. "And I think that our holy little problem just arrived." A decidedly more malicious twist entered his smile. "This should be interesting."

He gave her a big wave in the direction of the library, and then he turned and started walking down the street, casting a quick glance behind him at both his kiosk and Aedin.

Aedin followed embarrassedly behind Claden, smiling and keeping her head up in the awkward manner that most befits a person who knows she's done something stupid, but doesn't want to admit to it. The pale skin on her face had a sudden amount of colour to it, lighting up her cheeks with splotches of bright red blush. In her head she was quietly berating herself for not picking up some sort of map of Seyruun, or asking directions from someone that didn't have to work.

"Oh, ehe, right, big town.. " She scratched her cheek, still following and looking somewhat like a kicked puppy. "C..claden, right? Well, right now, I'm memorizing the way we're getting to the library! So I'll know how to get back to see a big show when it's dark- Sorry, again, to have to urh.. Get you to take me. But thank you, too!" The sorceress was half yelling at the back of Claden, after he'd turned back around, voice raising due to embarrassment.

"Oh, sorry, I'm apologizing too much--... Er, oops, sorry I.. did it again.. Oh wait." Aedin put her palm to her forehead and shook her head, deciding to just shut up before she apologized 1,000 times more for no apparent reasons.

Claden laughed quietly to himself as Aedin stammered herself into silence, and he shook his head. "Don't worry about it at all," he said, smiling at her. "Claden Issaldy is no stranger to nervousness."

He kept glancing at her as he walked down the Seyruun streets, and quirked another smirk. "If nothing else, you'll be able to find my stand with ease when the sun goes down. The sky will be very bright with all the blasts I'll be setting off. You couldn't miss it even if you tried."

The library, and the cafe across the street, were almost impossible to miss in the distance. The library was huge, and the cafe was busy. It was a prime location in the holy city.

A wide smile flitted over her lips, obscuring the awkward grimace that was there moments before. Aedin tagged a little closer behind Claden, making sure to keep an eye on him so she wouldn't lose her positioning while she meanwhile glanced around the huge city.

"That's pretty, well, logical, I'll keep it in mind when I look for it!"

She blinked a few times, shielding her eyes from the sun as she took notice of the library and cafe in the distance. "Oh, there it is! This is great!" She laughed a little in spite of herself, then took off at a sprint for it.

A moment later she sprinted back to Claden, panting. "Oh, huh, I can probably find my own way now, that is uah..." Aedin fixed her hair, then continued to talk, "Unless you want to come with me. I'll take out what I need then we can go back to your stand. I... Don't have anything better to do with my time."
