Humans: What these are is rather obvious. Do remember that most humans outside of the barrier created by the Mazoku Lords have little knowledge of magic.

Elves: A race that has become rarer through the ages but still exist, though most hide their presence from humans. Often they have an affinity for magic and possibly a unique power or two.

Dwarves: Seyrrun's crown prince has a resemblance to this race. They are large and stock brown skinned creatures. They usually aren't hostile to humans though some can be grumpy.

Dragons: There is a range of dragons in the world, some of which are little more than beasts and are sometimes cared for as pets by odd people. There are dragons that are as self aware as humans and serve in the name of Cephied against the Mazoku and able to cast divine magic. These dragons can take on a human form but there is often a sign of their dragon blood, especially the younger ones. The gold dragons that serve the Fire Dragon King were mostly wiped out, but that isn't to say all golden dragons have been killed; They are still out in the world, but they are certainly being carful as they know the Mazoku are desprate to tip the balance of power with the loss of both Gaav and Hellmaster.

Ancient Dragons: Arguably the most powerful of the dragons, their race was wiped out for denying to hand over one of the Darkstar weapons to the golden dragon. Valgaav is the last of any ancient dragon as in the care of Filia.

Mazoku: The monster race that serves Ruby-Eye and the Mazoku Lords. The Mazoku Lords do not work together and infact are known to plot against each other. Their end goal is supposed to be the end of the world, however it is possible not all share this goal. It's unknown what Beastmaster Zelas' end goals are. The Maoku cannot cast magic, but have their own range of powers. They are immune to normal attacks as their true body exists on the astral plane. Divine magic, black magic, and spiritual magic can hurt them as well as magical weapons.

Beastmen - This is a rather encompassing term. There are a number of races of humanoid beasts such as foxmen, lizardman, and fishmen.

Werewolves - Not to be confused with beastmen, lychanthropoids can change between a human and beastial form and posses great strength.

Trolls - A monsterous race with a magical healing that can overcome great wounds in a few moments. It takes a skilled warrior to kill one without the assistance of magic. They aren't very smart but are sometimes employed by bandits and mages.

Ogres - A monsterous race of dumb but phsycially strong monsters. They love to fight and are sometimes used by warlords as cheap armies.

Vampires - A race that is extremely rare in the world, but a few do exist.
