Oh I really hope not everyone registered save for like.. The three people replying in here has up and vanished. Things were finally kicking off!

I'm actually alive, just debating how to get into things. People were heading towards the library, but I'll have Amelia head towards them. :)

LOL I'll post. Hello!!!! I couldn't locate an introduction thread so I suppose this is as good a place as any.

I learned of this place through "TheFireIsMine" at deviantART.com. I've been wanting to rp Slayers with an intelligent, respectable fan community for ages and have not been able to locate any yet--hoping you can all help me!

I approached her and asked about any interest in taking canon characters, as I have an OC but she is subordinated generally to my rpging of Xelloss Metallium. I was told no one took Xelloss here yet, so I'd be glad to supply the community with a staple Xel. My Xelloss is one which sticks fairly strictly to canon, taking into consideration both the two seasons of the anime in which he appears, and the many manga and novels directly authored by Hajime Kanzaka. For this reason, you should expect a character who is neither a silly and harmless trickster priest, nor a psychotic, sadistic, sociopath murderer....but, rather, something in the middle, and perhaps incorporating elements of both extremes.

As this rpg is POST-Try, certain of my biases regarding romantic pairings are viable parts of a possible future storyline. I'm speaking of course about our favorite purple haired mazoku's highly debated relationship with a certain lovably sanctimonious golden dragon priestess ^.~ However I will neither voice my position on that relationship right now, nor allow it to sway my performance in rpg (unless the others involved share that same bias and are comfortable with me acting it out).

I have had very bad experiences in the past being flamed to hell and back for my romantic pairing preferences in Slayers. I am <b>not</b> interested in starting a flame war here. To me, free thought is everything. If a flame war begins, I promise you I will leave this message board as quickly as one drops a hot potato, LOL. I don't have time for internet drama or internet immaturity. However, I see nothing of the sort exhiited here, so I think we'll be okay

I'd write more about myself but this has gotten long and I would just say check my profile, it has a bit of info on my bg. I am 24 years old and in an art history PhD program. Hence my intense business and the likelihood that I won't be able to post here regularly at least until midterms die down.

Well, everyone has had to fill out a character application. ^^ So you'll probably have to do that before you can start playing Xellos.

Anyways, yes, you need to fill out an app for Xellos if you wish to play him!

Also, about pairings: I'm not against said character pairing, and I can understand why people like XelxFilia and think canon things allude to it. I still see it as a crack pairing though as 1) positive emotions effect monsters negatively, something like love would take a toll on them 2) monsters are astral beings (Gaav and Valgaav having some exceptions to this due to specific situations) and so any phyisical relationship is unlikely, but then I don't even know much of anything on how they reproduce 3) Xellos uses everyone as tools for his goals and/or amusement (and food)... Even if Filia and Xellos formed a relationship that quality of Xellos would likely prevent any lasting relationship.
That's just how I see it though.

And don't worry, if someone tries to flame your like of XelxFil I'll give them a good punting. Flames over pairing prefferences are just silly.

^^;; I think the only time I've ever really had an adverse reaction to a pairing preference has been because of obnoxious fans of a pairing shoving it in my face while flaming other pairings. Bonus points if it's not actually canon and they call it canon.

I don't think I've ever *flamed* anyone for their pairing preference, though I may have reminded them that they shouldn't call something canon unless it officially happens in canon.

Usually, I'll just say the pairing isn't my cup of tea and politely avoid it if I don't like a pairing. XD

Well since you don't want to get into any arguments I will refrain at the current time from giving ten paragraph long rebuttals to all your points against a "crack pairing"
