WIDBODE: LIFE THROUGH A VAMPIRE’S EYES

CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO:

The Joy Children Can Bring

Cassandra gasped when she came up for air, taking her head out of the toilet. She winced when she saw her breakfast swimming around in the toilet water before flushing.

“Honey? You OK?” Came her husbands voice from outside the bathroom.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Cassandra heard herself say and she wasn’t surprised that she actually meant what she said. This could only mean one thing and it was the best thing in the world. Not counting the sick and all.

Cassandra smiled at her mirror self and touched her tummy. Somewhere inside her a new little life was growing, her third child. She liked the sound of that.

“Darren,” she called, “I’ve got a surprise for you…”

She opened the door and found her man leaning against the wall with a worried look on his bruised and broken face. Excitement bubbled up inside her at the site of him.

“I’m pregnant!” she cried and jumped into his arms. But not before she saw his baffled expression.

He felt stiff when she hugged him, but maybe that was because of his bandages… (He had been looking very stiff when she had brought him his breakfast that same morning.)

“Cassie, that’s… great.”

She let go of him and frowned slightly.

“You’re -” she swallowed, “You’re not happy about this, are you?”

A lump formed in her throat as she said it. She had been secretly longing for another baby for some time now and now that it looked like she was soon going to get her wish, she was over the moon about it. It would break her heart if Darren didn’t feel the same about this.

He blinked at her.

“What? Of course I’m happy. It just came as a shock to me, that’s all.” He said then grinned at her. “Are you sure you’re pregnant?”

Cassandra returned his smile and nodded. She was practically glowing when Darren pulled her close to him with a low growl.

“We’re going to have another baby.” He whispered in her ear and kissed the top of her head lightly.

“Yes.” She smiled. “Another baby.”

She sighed happily, breathing in his smell and resting her head on Darren’s chest, feeling his heart beat steadily inside his chest. The moment was broken when she could feel what was left of her breakfast trying to make its way up her throat again. She let go of him abruptly, put a hand over her mouth and bolted for the toilet.

“Here we go again…” she heard her husband say before she practically stuck her head in the toilet for the second time that morning.

She hadn’t been this happy in a long time.

Wow, Muffin. You've been working hard. You've almost caught up. I really do like your style and your characters, and I hope this novel doesn't end too soon. I've always liked the big, 500 page adventure/romance stories. biggrin.gif

As you probably can tell, I've been playing with the Goths' a lot and I thought I'd post some pics!

The Goths' house! I moved them out of the murky old mansion, it was too depressing to look at. They don't live in Widbode, btw, they still live in Pleasantview.

Adrian. Aww, isn't he cute.

What a coincident, I do too! And thank you by the way.

I have no intention of letting Widbode end soon. I like writing it too darn much. biggrin.gif I just hope the people that read it on World Sims will come over here to read the rest of it -- and all the other stories you guys are posting up.
