Sure - guess I can't feel weird about putting up a thread if you've asked me to.

The cheat is hideHeadlineEffects on - it gets rid of the plumbbob and thought bubbles and skilling bars. Yeah, I tried plumbBobToggle too for a couple of times before I looked it up.

I guess everything else could go in another thread too, maybe about Sims 3 and stories and picture-taking.

Good idea. We don't want this to turn into a "how to play the game" forum, necessarily, but a "how to manipulate the game for better storytelling" thread would be right up our alley.

I'll start one right now.

Ooooooo! New blood! Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! I look forward to reading your story...especially as I have just started in Sims 3, and could use inspiration.

My own Sims 2 story got waylaid when my game turned into a GBFBVFS! (That is a "Great Big FireBall Visible from Space.") Hopefully, with my new iMac, I will be able to reload my Briarwood neighborhood and get back down to business.

In the meantime, it's nice to see someone writing about Sims 3 - as well as someone who actually responds on our forum! Yippee Skippee!!!

Ooh, new iMac? My husband is a huge Apple fanboy. I certainly hope you get your neighborhood up and going again - I'd like to check out the story.

Yeah - Sims 3 doesn't have posing and animation hacks and all of that yet, but personally I like the challenge of just using the vanilla game to tell my story.
