Title: Chapter 99: Small Town

The concert was awesome, and Johnny looked so sexy up on the stage that Cecily waited around backstage for him afterwards. A lot of other girls waited too but Najima saw her and waved her through, earning her a lot of envious glances from the rest of the groupies, a few of whom tried to rip Najima's shirt off. Apparently Johnny wasn't the only heartthrob, but Najima was her cousin, so eeew.

"Wow, we're going to need bodyguards," Najima said. Ricardo, sitting on the sofa with Erin in his lap, grinned.

"We really rocked, didn't we."

"Yeah, you did," Cecily said. "Nice work. Where's Johnny?"

"Back room." Ricardo gestured with his head and went back to making out with Erin.

Cecily went backstage, heart beating rapidly, and stopped dead.

Johnny was there, all right.

Kissing George.

"Wha--" was all she could manage.

Johnny looked up, and saw her. He looked amused. "Oh, hi."

"You're kissing GEORGE?"

Johnny shrugged. "So sue me. I play for both teams."

She felt like her jaw had hit the floor.

George looked from one to the other. "I'm going to get a beer. Want one?"

"Sure," Johnny said.

"Cec?" George asked.

Cecily didn't answer. George shrugged and left the room.

"You like boys?"

"And girls. I like sex, Cecily. And kissing. I don't really care much about the equipment."

"But, that's, gross," she said.

"And you're small town," he said. "Cute, but small town."

"I need some air," she said. She thought she might be sick. She headed out the back door, shutting it behind her.

The alley behind Pop's was dark, the air chill. Cecily shivered, realizing she'd forgotten her coat, and went to open the door. It was locked, and no amount of pounding worked. Great. Now she'd have to walk all the way around the building. Hugging herself for warmth, she headed down the alley.

"Hi, Gorgeous," said a familiar voice. Jack stepped out from the shadows.

She tried to push past him but he grabbed her arm.

"What's your hurry?" he asked.

"Let me go, Jack," she said. She struggled but his grip was like steel that cut into the softer flesh of her arm. "Ow, that hurts."

"Then stop struggling," he said, opening his mouth to reveal a brand-new set of fangs. "Stop struggling and it will all be OK."

She screamed bloody murder as he pulled her into his embrace and bit her, and then she knew no more.

Johnny and George outside Johnny's place.

Oh my... I wonder who bit Jack?? Couldn't be Fiona or Declan, could it, since Jack has been missing for a while? :o
