Black form loundged by the river, one forepaw dangling in the cool waters. Her hind legs stretched out beside her, the other forepaw resting on the bank. A curious fish darted up to her, watched by her black eyes. It looked to eat her paw. Lifting it slightly, she batted at the fish, sending it swimming off. Slim maw emitted a slight sigh, lowering to rest on the bank, large ears limp and relaxed. Bushy tail lay over her hind legs, black as the night, as she was entirely. Her black eyes watched the clear waters, long fur rippling as she shifted slightly. Her belly, like the rest of her, was black. Darker than black. Darker than space, darker than the voice, darker than the abyss. Blacker than black has a right to be.

Her tired paws revelled in the cool waters as she rested, senses alert, breathing in the putrid scent of humans and chemicals from her own fur. She shook her head, but this merely emitted a new wave of vile stink. With a sigh, she dropped her maw again and continued staring at the water with eyes darker even than her pelt.

A low growl was released from the shadows. The rabbit was bouncing about, oblivious to the predator that stalked him. Enzeru's body tensed, and he prowled foreward. But a new scent met his nostrils. This would wait. He had heard no howl of entrance, yet it was somewhere nearby. And a female. Typical.

Rising to his full potential, and sending the hare on a scramble, his bleached body moved gracefully through his wood. Maybe this would bring a pack member. Pack was life. Life was family. Familly was love. And love was truth. It was all one giant moral rolled into one, really.

Enamels glinted in the light. The trickled soothed his ears, easing his temper. Water would soothe such a creature at any time. Then the black figure he noticed was a vixen. He was completly opposite from her - him white, and she black. His head lifted dominantly, as well as his tail, waving like a flag. "Intruder," his voice boomed, "who are you, and why do sit on my lands?" he asked harshly. As he did any newcomer.

So. Would this lead to a new member of a pack or no? We'll see.

Slim maw turned to face the strong voice, unearthly black eyes resting upon the form of a wolf. Her mind seemed to take a moment to register his presence. A soft growl emitted from between her teeth as she recognised the form of one of her kind, defensive rather than threatening, frightened rather than angry. She scrambled to her paws, her ears pressing back against her skull, tail arching to creep between her legs. Eyes narrowed with her fear, heart pounding against her ribs.

"Forgiveness, milord," she said, twisting her maw to bare her throat, a sign of submission and peace. "I knew naught." Her voice was a low rasp, and yet melodic and mysterious. Whimsical and meandering, yet heavy with fear and shyness. She surpressed a soft whine of fear, battered away her fright and her need to run.

"And forgive you I shall. Do you seek a pack?" He hoped she did. No one else had come. But the day was new, and his patience short. He reclined to muscled haunches, his tail wrapping neatly at his feet.

The crisp air was twirling through his fur. The shadow danced about with the wind, sending vines rattling about them. The birds struggled to sing to one another, their calls muted by the wind. Now, if she wanted a pack, he must sit and discuss such with her.

He really needed patience. He had never attained it, really. He was a fast mover, not one to stop in his path. His stomach rumbled in protestation of him not moving. He quieted it down. He would feed it before long.

The fish swam about, avoiding the two being's shadows. They swam with a wide berth from the dark areas, thoughtless eyes rolling about in their sockets. It made his hunger worsen. But he had selfcontrol. Selfcontrol..

Her black eyes darted towards the brute, surprised. Her maw untwisted to point towards the brute, who must be the Alpha. She examined his pelt. White. How jealous she was, what she would give to have a pelt as such. "Yes, sir," she said, surprised that he knew her thoughts as such. A pack. The simple words contained both her greatest dreams and worst nightmares. She longed to recitfy her stolen life, to regain what was lost, build for herself what she had not before had. A pack. No fear of other wolves. Perhaps, a family. No, she told herself quite firmly. You are thinking too far ahead. You want and need a pack, nothing more. She shifted on her paws slightly as the Alpha's stomach rumbled. He must've been quite hungry.

"Good. he said, nodding. "Would you like to join Shangai Zetsumei? I am alpha. Oh, and, if I hadn't introduced myself, Enzeru, m'lady." he nodded once more, bleached head shining with health. His icy blue eyes were a tad softer.

A pack he would lead on his own. Well, that was until he found a mate.. or whatever. He did not look foreward to love or cubs. That was far ahead. Right now, he needed a family. And a family was what mattered.

"If you do decide to join," he paused, "there are a few simple rules. One: try not to fight. I wish no blood to be shed upon my grounds. Two: be kind to other pack members. Three: don't enter other packlands unless direct to.

A gasp emitted from her slightly parted jowls. The every fur on her maw seemed to quiver with surprise, delight, and fear. Her slightly submissive stance wavered and she dropped to that of an omega, paws tucked against her belly and tail around her legs. "Yes, please, very much sir." Her voice was just above a whisper, as if she hardly dared speak louder, as if this was a dream and speaking any louder would force her to awaken. And, yet, this dream was also a nightmare. She was forcing herself to endure torture by joining this pack, forcing herself into the vicinity that other wolves would doubtless wander. Still, "I mean, if you would have me," she added.

"I've found no one else. But what are your qualities? I shall descifer your rank by these." he nodded, watching her as she went into such a submissive stance. It confused him, really.

Her maw split as she started to speak, rather eagerly. Then she paused, thinking, wondering what he meant. "I don't know," she admitted, looking a bit shamefaced. "I'm not good at fighting or hunting, but I do try hard..."
