Better Know A Person

Name: Catherine Rose Tyler
Nick Names: Since she was a little girl, she has always insisted upon being called Rose, and won’t respond to anything else.
Age: 25
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight (Does the Master count as a man?)
Occupation: A Torchwood operative in her Parallel universe, but also has a part-time job as a classroom assistant.
Country/City/Place of Birth: Bristol
Alliance: Torchwood/ the Master
Species: Human
Original or Canon: Site Canon

The Masks We Wear

Face Claim: Billie Piper
Hair Color: Blonde, occasionally streaked with her natural brown.
Eye Color: A warm hazel shade
Type Of Clothing: Jeans, T-shirts, whatever is comfy.
What Looks Best: A coloured T-shirt, leather jacket, jeans and boots with a short heel.
What Looks Worst: Dresses, skirts or anything impractical.

Description:
Rose stands at 5’5”, with a curvy figure maintained by regular exercise and healthy eating. Well, apart from the occasional bag of chips… or two.
Her just-past-shoulder-length blonde hair is usually pulled back into a scruffy bun, which reveals her pretty, heart-shaped face, full pink lips and almond-shaped eyes, which are usually covered with thick framed glasses that she can barely see without. Her eyebrows and eyelashes are thick, and reveal her natural hair colour to be dark brown.

When she smiles, her entire face seems to light up, and for a moment a person could forget that any troubles exist in the world. However, when she cries (Something that she has been doing a lot more of recently) she cuts a heart-wrenchingly tragic figure, especially when her entire body becomes wracked with sobs.

Our Mind Set

Likes:
[*] the Master.
[*] Learning anything new, from how to use alien tech to finding that there’s a different brand of ketchup that tastes better than her usual.

[*] Being bossed around.
[*] Being stuck in one place for too long.
[*] Feeling like she's a 'fifth wheel'.

Strengths:
[*] Very loyal.
[*] Resourceful.
[*] Optimistic, but fairly down-to-earth.
[*] Incredibly determined, especailly when something is 'impossible'
[*] Adventurous.
[*] Good with computers.

Weaknesses:
[*] Can get jealous, especially where the Master is involved.
[*] Can sometimes let her heart lead her head.
[*] Impulsive, sometimes doesn't think things through as much as she should.
[*] the Master- she'll do anything just to see him again.
[*] Is, after all, just a 'stupid ape'.

[*] Never finding the Master again.

General Personality:
Rose is incredibly emotional, and that does tend to rub off on to other people, especailly those that she is around for long periods of time. When she laughs, she'll bring the most depressed person in the universe up to her level, but when she is unhappy it feels as though the sun will never rise again.

She is passionate about her beliefs and will never back down, even if it means offending someone, something that she would usually never dream of. She is also quite defensive, stubborn and incredibly strong-willed.
Underneath all this, however, she is a sweet, generous young woman who wouldn't harm a fly, unless of course, it threatened someone that she loves.

History:
Rose Tyler was never exceptional: she had average looks, got average grades at school, lived in an average house with her average family and had an average job. But that was when everything changed.

The Cybermen invaded shortly after Rose’s 20th birthday. For a week, Rose, as a lab technician in Cybus industries, was the only civilian who knew of the plan, but soon everyone was painfully aware: the Cybers were in every home in Bristol, taking everyone away for ‘upgrading’, whatever that meant. Rose nearly fell prey to them herself, but she used her gymnastic skill to get away, ran back to her house and hid with her family. She was in shock: she had trusted Mr. Lumic, believed him when he said it was all for good. Now she knew that it was all lies. She had heard the screams.

A few days later, while the Tylers were securely locked in their home, a man called the Master called all of the survivors together. He asked them to help him destroy the Cybermen before they wiped out the entire human race. Only Rose agreed- the rest of them were too scared.

She helped the Master to get the Binary code, which destroyed the cybermen by showing the former humans what they had been turned into. The man seemed very impressed with her technical know-how, and invited her to travel with him. She didn't realise what an offer that was, at first, until she stepped into the TARDIS. She ran away, but was pursued by the Master, who explained everything.

She agreed to travel with him, and never once regretted it, not even when she had to put her life in danger to save the universe,or, eventually, the Master. She didn't really remembermuch about the time before he regenerated, only that he sent her home to keep her safe, and that she wrenched open the TARDIS. After that, it was a blur of yellow light, a song and a feeling of wanting him safe. Her Master.

And then... his lips against hers, but then nothing. No light, no sound, no up no down. A deep oppressing nothingness that pressed against her, making it hard to breathe. The next thing that she remembered was waking in the TARDIS, with the Master looking like he was about to die. It turned out that he was, but his Timelord genes retaliated, changing him entirely. New face, new body... new voice, which he seemed particularly enthusiastic about. New Master.

While she had trouble accepting him at first, Rose grew to love the second Master even more than she had the first. Yes, as much as she hated to admit it, she had loved the first Master, despite the fact that he looked old enough to be her father and was old enough to be her Grandfather with far too many greats to count. But this Master looked young enough for others to see them as the 'proper' couple that they now were. They held hands, kissed, knew each other inside-out. He loved her just as much as she had always loved him-well, that's what she hoped.

But then came the Army of Ghosts. Then came Torchwood and the War. And that's when it all ended, for Rose anyway. It was another Cyberman invasion, as well as one by the Daleks, and Rose and the Master had to open the Void to eradicate the threats, after sending Rose's family to another universe so that they were safe.
However, Rose's lever that kept the Void open slipped, and,in trying to grab it, she was catapulted towards the void, and certain death. Thankfully, her Father followed some strange instinct and used his Void Manipulation Device to return to this world, save his daughter and then disappear.

The Master managed to find a small gap in between the universes and project a hologram of himself through to say goodbye. Rose tearfully told him she loved him for one last time before he had to go, but the Master didn't have time to tell her anything before his image faded and Rose was left with nothing, stranded without him on Bad Wolf Bay.

A year later, when Rose was only 25, she was second-in-command at her universe's Torchwood when a new peice of technology was found. After running a few tests on the silver disc to make sure of its use, Rose pressed the button in the centre, and suddenly was no longer in Torchwood, but just outside Cardiff, in what she hoped was her original universe, without her family, friends or even any clothes bar those that she wore. She didn't even know how the peice of tech that she held worked, other than it was now broken in half, and of no obvious use to anyone. She was, to quote the Master, 'kinda stuck'.

"'Tis a fine day." Meg murmured to herself, marvelling at the clear blue sky and the springiness of the grass beneath her feet. Well, it was a fine day, in regards to the weather at least. In other ways, Meg was convinced that she had done something to offend some higher being. For starters, she had fallen down that morning, and so her favourite gown was currently caked in mud and was being cleaned in the palace. This, of course, meant that she had had to change into her second favourite dress, a pale blue one, trimmed with cream lace: far too showy for simply being in the gardens, but one of the few new gowns that her Mama had ordered that Meg would even contemplate wearing. Another thing that had driven her to distraction that morning was her hair: it had proved untameable, and so was piled atop her head in a mass of unruly curls. It looked well enough, but Meg wished that she had been able to subdue it into some form of order.

With a sigh, the girl started towards her favourite place to sit, beneath the willow tree, but saw that someone was already installed there.

[NEXT POST]Meg remembered her manners quickly, and bobbed into as graceful a curstsey as she could manage.
"My apologies, madame. I fear I have been most ill-mannered: my name is Marguerite Antoinette Rousseau, no titles. You may call me Meg, if you wish." She straightened up carefully, straightening out her skirt, and smiled nervously at the older girl, hoping that she would be forgiving. After all, Meg had only been at Versailles for all of three weeks, it would not do at all to offend the daughter of a Duke. She could be thrown from the Palace, her Papa’s land taken, her entire family made destitute. No, this girl had to forgive her. She just had to.
((OOC: Sorry, but I‘m not on any other modern day RPs! From here))
