Welcome to Shady Grove Academy, home of the Fightin' Squirrels!
We are a private boarding school for the supernaturally gifted located in Shady Grove, CA, outside of San Francisco, near Walnut Creek.
We are currently accepting applications for students, staff, professors and residents, so jump on in and explore our world! We'd recommend taking a look in the Student Handbook first! ^_^

April 1st, 2011The Founders Day Festival is officially open! While the actual event isn't until the weened of the 15th, the forum will be open and usable for the entire month of April. Make sure to have fun and check the Festival schedule for event times and days.
March 28, 2011Check out the new News Sources forum under Communications! Check back for news relating to gifted society in the US--and to follow Darwin's investigation into what, exactly, causes gifts. And don't forget to check out the new forums and the new usergroup!

Cafeteria
Shady Grove prides itself on having pretty darn good food for a school. It's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a few hours open late in the evening (before curfew, of course) for snacks.

The lower common room is in the center of the boys' dorms, but open to all students outside of curfew. It's decorated in shades of blue with tan accents and has several sofas and armchairs, along with a widescreen TV and tables for studying.

There are plenty of bungalows available for staff and faculty housing on campus; no need to look in Shady Grove and Meadowoods, live within walking distance of your office!

Grounds
Shady Grove Academy has extensive grounds, including a wooded area and a small lake. There are gravel paths all around the campus, and plenty of grassy space for students to gather, play, and relax. Occasionally you'll see classes held out here on nice days.

Punta Verde
Punta Verde is the newest neighborhood in Shady Grove; some of the land is still undeveloped, and the houses in the residential area tend to be large, with landscaped yards. You'll also find the Gaiman Street Inn and De La Brise here, along with the entrance to some hiking trails.

Town Square & Founding Fathers Park
The town square, complete with a decorative fountain and benches, is located right in front of City Hall and is ringed with cafes and offices. Opposite City Hall is Founding Fathers Park, with plenty of open space, some woody areas, and a playground for the kids.

West Grove
West Grove is the neighborhood closest to the Town Center; most of the residences here are either townhouses or apartment buildings. You'll also find the fire and police stations here, as well as Joe's Grocery and the municipal pool.

Wyatt Heights is the oldest neighborhood in Shady Grove; the houses here aren't quite as nice, and the land's cheaper. Mama Lil's Diner is here, as are Carter's Stop-n-Go and Walker Memorial Teaching Hospital.
