Hi Ed. Nice site. My name is Jon M. and I've lived in RI pretty much my whole life (30 something). I am currently rebuilding at home my 71 Nova which I've owned for several years now. I'll be checking back regularly for any good info or memorabilia. Oh yeah, my Mom actually worked at Scuncio Chevrolet for a while back about 25 years ago. I'll have to ask her about it. Cheers! cool.gif

Ed, Sheila M is her name. I believe she did work in the office, but I was fairly young at the time. I can only guess that it was 25 years ago. May have been 30. I'll have to ask. cool.gif

Hi, my name is Billy M and I also love old muscle cars. I've lived in RI since 84. I own several Domain names and have made sites out of a couple of them. I was researching Big block Camaros and found your site. I liked it so much that I posted it on my site for you http://www.getcamaroparts.com/1969 I hope that what I said will help get some info on the car.
I work for Tasca and have been told some awesome stories about back in the days of racing on 37 and 295 and 44 and 118.
Mike Perlini told me about this guy named Adrian that took delivery of a Baldwin Motion Nova through Scuncio. A courtesy delivery thing. I geuss that B Johnson wanted to know how the Baldwin Cars went and raced Adrian with Adrian crashing the Baldwin car in the process. Bob kinda felt quilty about not letting Adrian get used to the car first and offered to help get him into a COPO camaro. The car was green with a four speed. I later found out that Scuncio got a green ZL1 and asked Mike if it was the ZL1, but Mike didn't think so. I even mentioned this to Adrians Brother and was told that it wasn't. After a tune up from Nat Chevatone? the car ran in the 10s at Connecticut.
In the early 70s the car went fior sale for $2500
I also remember a freind of a freind named Phil that had a white 69 or 70 Nova with a big block and ladder bars with the chrome "high performance Scuncio" badge on the trunk lid. He might even still have the car in Seekonk

Welcome to the site Bill. The Nova that Bob Johnson was driving was not from Motion but it was something Scuncio built in house it had a 427, Adrian was driving his Mustang at the time and totaled it the Nova was sold to some one else. The Camaro was a COPO L72 427 it was Ralley green with a 4 speed. Here is a picture of Adrians car after he sold it. Ed

ED, I knew that bobs nova wasn't from motion but Adrians Nova was! He crashed it racing Bobby Johnson and as a result ended up getting the COPO Camaro from Scuncio to replace the Nova. I see Adrians brother quite often.
What year was the ad for the Nova for sale in Seekonk? Phil had the Nova in 85 or 86 and his father made him take the big block out because it was too fast, so Phil built a small block for it that screamed! I wouldn't doubt that Phil still has that car and the big block for it .

Hi Ed,
I am sure we have met before. I am a Rhode Islander and have a collection of "Eclectic" Classic Cars. http://www.kuhnsklassics.com
You probably know my Wagon 1970 Chevy Townsman with the LS-5. RED. I love RED.
I put a Link to Rhode Island Muscle Cars on our forum at Yenko. ie: SYC. There's a lot of great people there and maybe a Few Scuncio cars and maybe know of a few more. It's a starting point.
Here's a link back to SYC http://www.yenko.net/

Anyway, Just wanted to Join up, and Say Hi. If My Wife and I can be of any help,
we are only an E-mail or Call away.
BTW - Love The Banner Photo.

I worked for the competition, The Butler Family, back in the 70's. Glad I am outta there.
Later
RICH. . . aka Draginwagon

Great Site Ed, I have been looking around for a little while and just haven't posted. You did a great job setting up the forum. I am looking forward to seeing more VIN's and hopefully some will show up for the 68 Novas. You know I really like those 68's...
