BiographyHistory: Derek was raised on a plot of land just outside of Shell Town. The young boy was raised by his single father who was known as the best marksman on the island. Derek’s father would often compete with marines in marksmanship competitions with rifles, pistols, anything and he always won. The two would spend months just out in the wilderness surrounding the island simply hunting and bonding. By the age of eight, Derek had become a crackshot himself and would hustle the marines especially the new ones in marksmanship competitions. Though Derek could not live that life forever and picked up a job as an apprentice gunsmith in the town. His father soon grew ill and Derek eventually began spending his time either caring for his father or working at the shop. When Derek was 18, his father died. Derek spent about half a year more on the island tying things up selling the land to a pair of family friends before signing up at the base and becoming a marine.
Derek had a swift rise to the top with his marksmanship skills and knack for hunting down pirates. The young marine eventually found himself working under a well respected Captain as the ace marksman and hunter. Derek considers these years his golden years forging seemingly unbreakable bonds and living the life that he had always wanted. It all ended too suddenly when the crew was assigned a mission to attack a rebellion headquarters. The World Government knew that it was a suicide mission and had secretly loaded the ship with a number of high explosives. Once the ship had been overwhelmed by the rebels, the explosives were activated killing nearly the entire crew except for a few. Derek and the Captain were among the few left alive. The marines were taken in and tortured by the Rebels until the World Government came in but by that time Derek had already lost his right eye. The World Government saw Derek as a useless soldier dismissing the man giving him no where near the money he deserved and showing him the door.
Needless to say, Derek was crushed by the incident. He spent what seemed like years in and out of the bars drowning his sorrows in a bottle. The man eventually heard of an experimental procedure that could possibly give him his right eye back. Derek took it without a moments hesitation giving them nearly all the money he had, but it worked. The cybernetic right eye not only worked, but had a number of unique abilities that would help Derek now that he had chosen his next profession. The now 36 year old man decided to pick up his rifle once again and enter the world stage as a bounty hunter.
RP Sample:As the sun slowly rose over the countless sand dunes surrounding Sunagakure, the people of the village began to stir. Among them were two parents around their mid-fifties that were aging gracefully. The pair made their way to their son’s workshop as they let themselves in a mixture of pride and worry was on their faces. Sano seemed like he didn’t even notice their entrance. His hands were a blur as they tested traps and inspected joints of the puppet in front of him. There was a momentary pause as his father let out a hoarse cough. Sano turned to face his parents with a huge grin on his face.
“Good Morning, Mother,”he said giving her a slight nod, “Morning, Father.”
“Sano, did you stay up all night working again?”his mother asked a hint of anger in her voice.
“Yea, you know me once I start I just can’t stop.” he said with a sheepish grin on his face.
“He’s right, Ryoko. At least our son is devoted to what he does. You heard about Jin and Yuna’s son, right? The Boy’s a lazy good for nothing bastard not like my boy.”he said glowing with fatherly pride.
“Renji isn’t that bad. He just needs the right motivation.” Sano said with a slight frown. Renji had been his friend through thick and thin. He was one of the few people Sano could always rely on to have his back. His parents had never approved of Renji ,but Renji’s parents loved having Sano around. They hoped he could motivate Renji somehow. Sano let out a little sigh his father was going into a speech about how for every Sano there are ten Renji’s. His parents were deep into their ranting about the effects Renji could have on Sano. Sano rolled his eyes and left the room grabbing his bag of scrolls on the way out.
Sano slowly made his way down the path. The village was coming alive as his neighbors set out to perform their daily chores. A few waved at Sano greeting him as he walked towards Renji’s house. Just then Sano noticed a man, he seemed out of place. The man wore a clean white sleeveless t-shirt and matching white pants. He was leaning on what looked like an axe of some sort. The man’s village headband hung loose around his neck as he glanced around the village. Sano didn’t recognize the village immediately ,but as he came closer he realized which village the man came from. He was a ninja from the Mist.
“Good Morning.”he said as he waved his hand at the Mist nin. The man looked at Sano and let out a sort of snort before turning to face the other way. Sano’s hand clenched unconsciously as the rage within him began to build more rapidly. Who the hell does this man think he is? The young genin reached into his bag for one of his scrolls.
“STOP,” Sano turned to see one of the Kazekage’s aides breathing hard, “This man is the ambassador from the Mist.” The ambassador hadn’t even turned around to face them. Sano's hatred for the man grew as each moment passed. The thought of ignoring the aide and attacking the man flashed through his mind, but Sano tossed the thought away. The act would disgrace not only his family, but the village itself. Their relationship with the other villages was strained already, and he didn’t want to create any more problems. Sano let out a sort of feral growl before starting to make his way back to Renji’s house.
