Her bag slung over her shoulder, the tiny pups eyes could easily be seen looking out of her bag, investigating the new island. She had got off the ferry not many days ago and it was already winter. She had bunked at the inns lobby for a few days, but it wasn't very comfortable anymore. She didn't have much confidence in asking the innkeeper if she could have a room, since she was still considered a child by most people, even though she felt more mature than she really was. Her breathe was heavy, the snow slightly covered the islands ground, since she didn't exactly steal any clothing under the dress code of Winter, she was practically still wearing spring clothing, a skirt, stockings, and her regular school junk from Japan. Her fingertips were pretty much red as she looked down at the pup who stayed in her bag most of the time. Obviously Coco was just as cold as her, but at least he had fur for the goddesses sake. A few stores were still open, despite the weather this morning. Not many walking humans seemed to be outside which almost freaked Nora out, since she had been practically used to the silence and almost no communication, she had almost no practice with talking to other people anymore these days.

Her stomach grumbled lightest as she stopped in her tracks and her fingers went over her stomach that was covered with her clothes. Looking into her bag, she looked in for some snacks only to see nothing in there but the torn packages she and her pup had eaten, and a few hundred dollar bills wrapped together. Looking back up, she stared at one of the nearest stores that had a bit of an enchanting smell coming out of it. Pushing her pups head down in the bag, she kept a tiny hole in her bag to keep the pup still alive and breathing. Her feet began to go through the snow towards the shop as she reached it, her stomach only began the need to get in even more. Her hand grabbed the door as she looked behind her, making sure nobody was following her or something like that. She had always had the habit of looking behind or around her when she went places to make sure she wasn't followed or something, finally opening the door, she slowly went in. Nobody was behind the counter, and since she was pretty much used to not seeing anyone there, so she would stuff food or money into her bag for future uses and leave. Even though she was aware people lived on the island, she was still not used to anything. A few shelves of food displayed as she looked through each of them, her fingers tracing each tag slowly.

Grabbing a few boxes of snacks, she began putting them into her back as she heard the soft sounds of the pup sniffing each item she tossed in there. Looking up on the top shelf, she stood on her tip toes and grabbed the next item before stuffing it into her bag. The smell of bread wasn't far, it had been forever since she had actually had any fresh bread. Her feet began to quickly move towards the bread, her fingers grasped about three as she decided it was best not to trust the pup with the large bread loafs. Holding them in her arms as if they were a bouquet of flowers, she felt her stomach grumble even more as she turned around on her heels, beginning to slowly walk towards the door as she opened it and quickly left before anything else happened. Everything was peaceful for awhile as she walked away, but it wasn't long before the peace was also interrupted by a loud shout inside the store she had just entered and left from rather quickly.

Picking her speed up as she had her eyes turned towards the building, she could still hear the loud cursing from the store sound as he tried to uncover what had happened in his store. Of course, he was dumb enough not to believe the certain person who had stolen his food had already left the store and began to run off with his bread. If she had known better, she would possibly been able to of paid for the bread, seeing she was pretty high on the money bar with how much cash they had in Japan. She felt terrible for looting the money from Japan, but it wasn't like anyone used it. She was the only survivor, so she doubted anyone needed it. Seeing it was either her taking the money or people he began to come search for the survivors, like the government or something, would've done just the same as her. You could easily classify her as high class here in Saffron, though she was actually considered middle class back in Japan. With her attention on the store with the cursing and screaming, she lacked the proper attention to see where she was actually walking.

    Bump

Nora wasn't really built to stay up like a firm tree, and found herself falling backwards, her eyes widened and mouth gaped open in honest shock as her hair itself was going pretty wild in the wind, her feet fumbling with each other to gain her balance, but instead she just fell into the snow as the bread itself went flying into the air, her whole body crashed into the snow, the pup had ran out of the bag and began to sniff the loaf breads by the mans feet. Grunting a bit quietly as she began to lift herself up off the ground, she looked up at whoever it was she had just ran into.

”Aight nao, this is bullshit” The rough voice said, thick with a southern accent as he ran a hand along his unshaved chin causing an irritating sensation against his skin. Every word he said was accompanied by small clouds of visible air as the hot and wet oxygen left his lungs and mixed with the cold air around him. He just couldn’t understand why things had turned out the way they did, why the last hour had been so bad.

It had all started when he woke up this morning, woke up to the freezing ass cold lying in a bed without a blanket. His normally thick comforter that he used regardless of the weather was missing, well to be more accurate it had been taken. It had been stolen from off of his body, stopping him from being kept warm, and was wrapped in a crescent moon on the floor next to the bed where it had been taken over by demons ripped right from a story book. There were four of the little bastards all fluffed up in a row like balls of feathers, and the only reason they could be told apart was because of the fact that they were all a different color. Starting from left to right it had gone white, grey, brown, and black and white, with the last one looking like she had just been pulled from a dryer. And laying around them like some sort of dragon protecting its treasure was Leonidas, who laid ontop of the remainder of the blanket that wasn’t taken by the clown patrol. The large red dog’s nose and back paws were nearly touching from how tight of a ball it had assumed.

Alright, he could accept that one. It aint like they don’t have fur and feathers to protect them from the cold, and it wasn’t like he was asleep in an undershirt and a pair of striped boxers and was about to freeze his… butt off. As he laid in bed staring at the ceiling in the dark room he could even accept the fact that he had been woken up even as the sun had been rising, really he could accept it. He could handle that. Naw what he couldn’t handle, what had really annoyed him as he laid in his still warm spot of the bed was that he had forgotten to get more beer. And he didn’t want to have to trek all the way inta town and then back. But for his liquid bread he must quest for it, to replenish the lost reserves. And so with great annoyance he had gotten out of bed, spewing a series of choice curse words in the process as he made his way across the freezing hardwood flooring barefoot looking for his pants. The last place he remembered throwing them was into the kitchen, atleast he thought. And so for what felt like eternity he walked barefoot around his small, spartanly furnished house, the entire time thinking how much bullshit it was that no part of the damn floor was warm.

Finally dressed, though not as warmly as he would have liked, he set forth from his house toward the town, trudging his way like the tiny little engine that was pissed off like someone had peed in his damn cheerios. And for a while, the serenity of his journey had helped to relieve his annoyance at the world, but that was quickly swept away when a cold blast of air seemed to pierce his jeans and cause damn near every muscle in his legs to tighten up and his leg hair to become like a pissed off porcupine against the denim. And someone was yelling, it was early mornin and someone was yelling already. Well, it was early when Juu set off but how long ago was that? He refused to take his watch with him since it woulda frozen to his skin, Eff that noise. But what was this person yellin about so damn early? What was it they were yelling?

The answer sort of appeared on its own, with a rather sudden thud as Juu’s cold body struck something.. no someone? His dark eyes shot down as he watched the flutter of red shoot up into the air, but his face remained stoic as all he got to see was the black stockings instead of something better as this certain someone crashed into the snow at his feet. Aside from the near panty shot that he had almost been treated to, the next thing he noticed was the girl’s eyes. Those bright purple orbs that floated in a sea of black hair, and to be honest iffin she had been coming toward his ass looking like that he prolly would have runnin as fast as humanly possible. He probably wouldn’t have even been touching the snow if he had to. He’d be running on top of it. But in this instance she was falling away from him, bread flying in every direction and the scurrying of a small dog running around.

Now his mamma had raised a gentleman, even if the mold had been broken by the sheer volume of braincells he had lost but his arm had extended down toward the girl, and she definitely counted as one given how small she was, with his hand palm up to offer it to her. Sure he wasn’t in the best of moods, but his lips cracked into a smile showing hints of white green as his torso tipped at the belt line to help whoever this was up. His sister always said it in the past and it was still true now ”Ya Aight there?” Juu always looked smart til he opened his mouth and said something, then he looked like the dumbest rock in the quarry.

Every action in this world bears a consequence
If you wade around forever you will surely drown
The sound of the tiny pup barking filled the air the slightest as she continued to stare up at the man, her own heart pumping like the angry man who's own heart was pumping with rage by the looks of it. Since she was wearing a skirt, she instantly found herself pushing her legs together to block any type of view that was possible, her eyes continuing to stare up at his. Staring at his palm that was pretty much extended out to her, she continued to show no emotions as she grabbed it and pulled herself up on her own. Quickly slipping her hand out, the bag's flap that had once secured the top, was open revealing a few boxes of snacks and hundred dollars of bills in there. Her hands began to dust the snow off the back of her skirt as she lifted her leg behind her and began to dust over the snow that had actually gotten onto her stockings as the question was sounded. "I believe I should be perfectly fine. Bruises aren't hard to cover up if I have one suddenly appear." She shrugged her shoulders before pulling her stocking up, dusting off the snow from her other leg in the process.

Looking up at him, her breathe was white and her face seemed a bit red, though she wasn't exactly embarrassed. "I guess I should tell you my name?" she sounded rather uncertain if that's what she should do. Since she wasn't really used to talking to people in person like this, she really didn't know if that was something she should do or not. She had no clue if this guy was a murderer and could find her again, only to stab her and sell her insides to a meat factory. "Er... An apology seems needed also. I suppose I am sorry." she added again, embarrassment feeling her face as she let her head hang now, her face flushing even redder. She was not ready for this at all. Not.. not at all. "I'm not used to talking with others. My names Nora." she finally skipped to her point with a bit of a sigh, not really giving the man a chance to talk since she was still confused and talking out of embarrassment of what to do.

The sound of raging continued to fill the air from the store not to far away as the door opened, she peered behind her to look at the man who spotted his prized bread in the snow being chewed on by Coco, her precious dog. The man went into a yelling fury once more and pointed at her before making his own way out of the shop trudging over there. She already knew what was going to happen before it did, he had suddenly got over there when he reached the girl and looked down at her, his face breathing mere anger as the dog suddenly ran around in circles, the bread stuffed in his mouth as he did so wildly. "Do you know what happens to children like you who thieve?" he questioned, his hands on his hips. His hair was a light brown with dull grey eyes, he seemed rather young, but his youth seemed to be gone despite his looks. Instead of coming up with a smart come back out of a bit of anger, she sighed and looked at the bread on the ground. Did he really want those back? He hadn't been here long and was already embarrassed, running into someone and accused of stealing.

Cops call it hunches, women call it inspiration, but sometimes its possible to just tell when there was something wrong with a situation. There were just the subtle little clues that made light of details that could be missed otherwise, things that just popped out and screamed there was something wrong. And this was definitely one of those times, but Juu just couldn’t put his fingers on what it was. Perhaps it was the fact that even as he talked to this young woman, as she so gingerly brushed herself off, her bag spilled its guts across the layer of snow that had built up on the ground revealing wads of money and boxes of snacks. Or perhaps it was the voice filled with anger that seemed to be drawing closer, but still muffled by the walls and class of the store it had been awoken in.

Now Juu might not have been a rocket scientist, well sure he was a doctor but that didn’t matter right now, what did matter was the fact that he had to do something at this very moment otherwise shit was gonna get real. Even though she did look pretty cute with that there blush all over her cheeks as she struggled to tell him her name but she was still a thief, given how badly the yelling was going on. ”Tsk..” he started to say as his hand came up and ran through the rust colored hair that hung, causing some white globs of snow to fall to the ground. If he was going to keep this girl from ending up sitting in a jail cell he had to attempt one of those.. scared straight thangs, ”Nora was’t? I’mma go out onna limb her ‘n say ya prolly didn’t pay fer none- Juu was quickly cut off by the stream of incoherent angry words that seemed now targeted at the girl.

The hand that had swept up through Juu’s hair gripped just behind his ear as his head tipped ever so slightly, prolly in annoyance at the yelling but there was nothing he could do about that. The shopkeeper had stormed his way over to the pair and while it would have prolly been in his best interest to keep out of it that just wasn’t in his nature. "Do you know what happens to children like you who thieve?" There it was, that little bit of scare tactic that prolly could have worked, Nora probably would have given back everything that she had taken, or might have even paid for it with only a slight reprimand from the owner. That’s if Juu would have just kept his mouth shut and kept on walking ”Aight nao, just hold on right quick. She prolly didn’t mean ta steal nothin from ya, so lets just slow yer shit ‘n take a breath aight?”

Now, that intuition that tells when something is off that was mentioned earlier? Sometimes that helps to tell when enough is enough, and that form of intuition Juu just never quite..ever mastered. ”First off, ya yellin aint gonna solve nuttin, ya hear? All yer ever gonna accomplish that way is givin yerself a heartattack.. ‘n prolly makin yer ass go bald in the process. She’s dun got whole damn stacks of money layin round..” Juu’s eyes shot down for a moment and for the briefest of seconds he hoped that she hadn’t taken that from the guy as well ”I’m sure iffin ya stopped actin like ‘n ass, ya could have gotten her ta pay fer everything she took.. specileh that bread, ya prolly aint gonna want that back given her dog dun nommed that thang ta pieces.” Nope.. Juu never, ever mastered learning when to keep his trap shut.

Maybe it was a little weird to do, but instead of looking down at the ground, she investigated the man over, as if trying to memorize his appearance for their next meeting or something like that. He had began speaking and almost got to the right point of what had happened, of course he was interrupted by that annoying screeching sound of a baker. It was rather rude to her, since she was raised to believe in such things. Her eyes wandered back towards the loud voice a bit angrily, her eyes narrowing the slightest in the doors direction from afar. "So rude.." her thoughts muttered to herself as she turned her eyes back towards the man who he had bumped into.

Her ears rang with the sound of the other man begin to speak out loud which freaked Nora out again. She had never really been used to cursing since it wasn't common in Japan since most people thought it was dishonor to their family. Though children back in school had cussed times, taking their anger out in words at school since their family basically had no idea about their behavior. Taking a bit of a slow gesture as her hands went up in front of her, as if trying to protect her own face. The dog followed, the bread stayed clenched in it's mouth as his tail wagged back and forth, following her, jumping over the other pieces of bread. Instead of getting involved, knowing it was a bad idea to do so, she just watched the man 'talk' to the baker from the store, who wasn't really responding and seemed to be a bit shocked in the mans behavior himself. Nora found a hand escape over her mouth, as if holding in laughter from this whole thing. Coco turned towards the man she had ran into, who she was now going to call nazomeita, seeing that's how she thought of him for some reason.

"Cussing won't help any either, sir." he said, being a bit sarcastic in the ending about it, his whole body seemed to be trembling as if he was a bit afraid of getting cussed out or he was going to smack him up the top of his head, which Nora had doubts about actually. Everyone in this island seemed to be a bit mysterious to her, but that was only because she wasn't used to living with others, but the people seemed nicer than she was portraying them to be. The baker/seller suddenly turned in her direction. "You can have the bread for free.. But i need the snack boxes back." he claimed, his hands held out for the snack boxes that were obviously in her bag tossed over her sides. Her fingers dug into her bag as she brought them out, one by one, stacking them into his fingers a bit angrily. There weren't really that many boxes of snacks in there, probably about five or six? So he was blessed not to have many. The man nodded turning around and leaving without a word towards the store again.

Turning towards the man once more, she sighed before picking up the bread, holding the two long loafs as the last one was being held by the pups jaws like it's new favorite chew toy. "I guess the bread should be fine.." she shrugged, tearing off the top and stuffing it into her mouth, her eyes squeezing shut as she chewed. Really, she had already expected the other man to of departed as well.

Juu’s mouth started to fall open at the amount of sarcasm that was in the shopkeeper’s voice, the words striking like a wet flounder to the face on a below freezing day. Who the hell was this guy thinkin he was, telling Juu not ta cuss, he wasn’t even cussing yet, he was just tellin the guy that yellin at a kid wasn’t gonna get him anywhere. But no, this guy had to act all sorts of smug, asking this girl for the boxes she had taken which she rather angrily stacked in the guy’s hand. If it weren’t for the fact that it was freezing ass cold outside there might have been a bit of a tumble in the snow between the two men but Juu wrinkled his nose and bit the tip of his thumb at the back of the keep’s head as he walked away, showing his teeth in the process. ”Asshole, Dun even know when a person aint cussin ‘n shit, he wanted ta see cussin I’d give ‘m cussin. But I aint gonna do it ‘front of a lady.“

Juu let out a huff of frustration before dropping both hands now to his sides and shoving them forcefully into the pockets of his jeans to keep them warm. Sure he was wearing a jacket, but it wasn’t like it was doing much good for someone who had been raised on warm weather, even in the middle of winter he was used to wearing short sleeves. But now he had to bundle up, he had to put extra blankets on his bed… did he even own extra blankets? That was something to add to his mental checklist, when he got home he’d have ta look ‘n see if he did have extra blankets. And on top of his anger, he still didn’t have no beer, how the hell else could the universe decide to mess with him?

Then she spoke. His eyes shot down toward the preteen that he had run into, the little thief in the skirt. She had said something, as if solemn in her resolution to simply eat bread with her puppy, and finishing her minor statement apparently meant only for herself she tore off a piece of the bread and began to eat it. Juu’s eyes cast up at the sky for a moment, mouthing a word that looked strangely like ‘Vacuum’ before he turned his attention once more to the lost little walking fetish that had slammed into him, fully taking in her appearance. Her fingers were red, an obvious sign that the blood vessels had constricted and blood was fleeing toward her core for warmth, her stockings weren’t thick at all, and Juu was fairly certain if he held any part of her clothing up infront of a light he could make out every jail-time inducing detail. ”All I dun wanted was mai beer.. ‘n now I gotta.. aight this just aint fair. This is some kinda bullshit..”

His mouth finally parted as he took in a breath of cold, crisp air that stung his lungs making him long for a cigarette, something else he had ta get at the store ”Aight ya prolly aint gonna accept but I’mma put the offer out there fer ya..” Could he sound any more like a sexual predator? As Juu continued to speak, he took off his jacket and held it out to the girl, which on her tiny frame what came down to Juu’s waist would prolly touch her knees or lower. ”But Iffin ya want more than just some bread I’m headin fer the shop, ‘n since I aint had breakfast yet, I’mma stop somewhere ‘n get somethin. Nao iffin ya want, ‘n ya should come just ta get outta the snow in that skimpy thang, I’ll get ya something ta go ‘long with that bread. Plus we kin get some cheese fer yer dog while we’re at it. ‘n just cause so ya know, since ya dun intraduced yerself, My name’s Juu. Not Jay, Ee, Eu, its Jay, Eu, Eu.”

Every action in this world bears a consequence
If you wade around forever you will surely drown
The whole space between the two seemed silent, pure silence for the next few minutes. She stood there with her eyes closed, bread plopping into her mouth every few seconds after she swallowed it down, her stomach slowly settling down. Her hunger finally stopping. Her mind wasn't begging for food as much as it had earlier that morning, which wasn't to long ago. The silence was broken when Coco made a muffled bark. The bread still wedged inside his mouth like a really sticky piece of gum. Her eyes fled open, the purple orbs shining bright as always Her sister always said they were one of a kind, but she believed a lot of people had purple eyes. Really.. Nora hardly saw purple eyes.

Staring up at him, she frowned the slightest. The offer hadn't been offered, and Nora was already trying to think of things he might offer to her. Once he began the offer, he didn't stop speaking. He continued on to the food, clothing, and then to his own introduction. Forcing a small smile on her face, she suddenly bowed his direction. It was supposed to be how she greeted people back home instead of touching hands, believing that was to much contact and inappropriate for most people her age. It was forbidden at her school for a girl to touch the opposite gender and vice versa. Doing so resulted in being 'suspended' or 'expelled'. "It's an honor to meet you, Juu." she began her little routine quickly, her hair falling over her shoulders slowly before quickly jerking up. She didn't know if she had said it right or not, but he most likely would correct her.

The dog suddenly dropped the bread at Nora's feet and wagged his tail with a load of joy. Slowly bending over to pick it up, Coco only grabbed it once more and ran over to Juu as if taunting her to come chase him for the bread. Instead of doing so, she stood there and looked back up. "The offer is kind.. I'll gladly accept it if it doesn't.. burden you." her voice was slightly shaky as she spoke, not really knowing how to word stuff out much. Than she had that one last question remaining she had wanted to know. It felt weird asking questions since Nora was practically knowledgeable about most words, but she had never heard a word but since she didn't, why not learn something knew for the day? "Oh if you don't mind me asking, Juu, What does..." stopping as she fought to remember the word once more, she recalled his words awhile ago quickly. What did skimpy even mean? "Skimpy mean?" she quickly added, her voice just above a whisper as it had always been.

For a moment Juu hesitated to answer her question, as he wasn’t quite sure how to describe the word ‘skimpy’ to someone, especially a teenage girl who obviously didn’t know any better. Iffin he got his hands on her parents for letting her out wearing what she had been he was going to kick them in the nuts. Well, he’d kick the father in the nuts, probably twice. ”Its colder than a well digger’s ass out here ‘n yer wearing a skirt, stockins, ‘n loafers. Iffin you were older I’d call ya a fantasy come true, but ya aint, so ya need ta cover yer ass up” He grunted out, trying to sound like he had no interested in she-who-had-nearly-flashed-him-her-undies. His arm shook once more as he held the extended jacket out to Nora before releasing it to let it drop down toward her arms, atleast he hoped that was how he had aimed it. The almost letterman style coat had white sleeves leading up to a pale blue core, but in place of any letters or symbols representing Juu’s ‘school or team’ there was simply a gold button pinned into the material of a snake wrapping its way up a cane with a flat top, with the tiny inscription reading “Pais Iatros” along the snake’s body.

Now if Nora caught his jacket was not his concern at the moment as Juu’s attention had fallen down to the tiny pup that was trying to run around his feet and get someone to play. An adorable little thing that seemed like it had been made entirely of brown sugar who prolly could have fit into one of Juu’s hat and not take up too much space. His knees began to bend as he started to crouch down, putting the majority of his body weight down onto the heels of his feet and curving his toes for the support reached one hand out with his fingers extended toward the puppy but keeping them a small distance away so that Coco had to approach him to smell his fingers “Com’ here Pup, I prolly stink of Leo but you aint got nothin to worry from him aight? He’s a big ol teddybear.”

Now Juu was a little closer to the level of Nora, his head having to tip ever so slightly backwards to be able to look at her in the face, look into them purple eyes. Now don’t get him wrong, they were certainly pretty eyes, but something bout them just kind of… gave him the shivers. ”I suppose I didn’t answer yer question did I.. Skimpeh just means yer not dressed properly fer the situation. Its cold out, but yer wearin a school girl uniform, yer gonna catch a cold iffin ya don’t stay warm. Nao.” Juu put his hands on his knees and pushed down on them causing his entire body to straighten up as he stood once more. He would have offered ta hold the girl’s hand er at the least let her hook her arm through his elbow, but she prolly wouldn’t have liked the offer, especially since she had her pup to carry around. He scanned from side to side for a moment before spotting a store that looked as though It was putting out heat from the chimney that was releasing tiny puffs of smoke.

Listening to him, she found her head sulking a little lower as she looked down at her choice of clothing. Since Nora was practically used to the snow weather, she didn't get sick in it because of her 'awkward clothing'. But she did get cold, but it wasn't as severe as some people might think. She didn't exactly have any other clothing to wear other than what she had on now and the white t-shirt with the long green skirt that went just below her knees. Those were also stuffed in her bag, but since they weren't very thick to keep her warmer, the choice of clothing she wore now was a better choice to wear in such weather. "These... are the only clothes I have though." her voice continued to sound quiet, barely above a whisper as she admitted it, almost shamefully. She knew that it would've been best to pack up on clothing before she left the deserted island, but knowing the boat probably wouldn't of waited for her to find something fashionable or good for such weather didn't occur to her. The jacket was suddenly dropped and her arms quickly outstretched to grab it, the jacket falling right into her arms. Since she was a bunch smaller than Juu, the jacket was like a short dress for her. Pushing her arms through into the jacket, she felt herself blinking a bit as she crossed her arms over her chest like a stubborn child, mostly to keep her a little more warm.

Coco watched Juu bend over, his fingers outstretched towards the pup who was looking at him a bit curiously, the bread in his mouth almost begged for mercy as Coco found himself dropping it in the snow for a brief while, the pups tiny legs kicked up the snow behind him as he pretty much charged in his direction like an angry bull, halting to a stop right in front of his hand, his nose began to twitch as he sniffed the man. Nora knew Coco, and even though Juu had 'warned' the pup about the smell, Coco was obviously not going to be bothered by the smell. If you were to look at her background history, it would be pretty obvious why the pup could stand any type of smell. Barking once, Nora quietly walked through the snow and grabbed the fallen bread, the pup had began rubbing it's head in his palms like usual, showing he was pretty much fine with Juu.

Juu was practically eye-level with her now, it was pretty much making her feel like the tiniest person ever like some six year old. Looking directly into his eyes, it was believed that a person needed to look in a persons eyes when they spoke or it would be disrespectful. "Oh.. I don't get sick often cause I'm used to being outisde in the snow all morning and sleeping in it." she muttered, it was practically true. Despite all the buildings with a more warm atmosphere than the outside weather and a warm bed, she preferred sleeping outside in the snow since the dust in the stores and homes were irritating. For the first few seasons, it was hard. She did use a pillow and a blanket however, but she was pretty used to the snow. It was hard to believe for the average person.

Playing with a puppy was scientifically proven to lower your blood pressure, because they were so damn cute that most of the time you just couldn’t withstand the onslaught and started to relax because of it. Or maybe that was cats. But regardless, neither of those things were going to help Juu as he remained crouched down toward the snow, his knees were scraping along the snow as he ran his fingers along the puppy’s head as it did the same to a stranger’s fingers. So not only did the girl not know how to use money, which she seemed to have a nice supply of given what fell from her bag, and that she was so hungry she was shoplifting, she also had no winter clothes, and nowhere to sleep except outside in the cold. ”Aight.. nao that just aint right” He muttered, mostly to himself before pushing on his knees to rise up into a standing position again, the annoying little bug buzzing around in the back of his head to try and help the girl.

First on the agenda was food, and it looked like his exhausted supply of beer was going to have to wait for another day. Judging by her age, she probably wouldn’t want someone holding her hand while walking with her, and it wasn’t like she was going to just wonder off with a slight huff both of Juu’s hands went into the pockets of his jeans, pushing them down ever so slightly. Why the hell he’d give up his jacket anyway? ”Well ferst we’re gonna get somethin ta eat ‘n I’ll tell ya how money works I guess.. Ya had more than nough yet ya tried shop liftin.” A chill ran up Juu’s spine making his body shiver as he added an afterthought to his previous statement ”Plus, its colder than a well digger’s ass out here.”

Given the choices that were out there, between the shop that she had fled with stolen goods which would just be asking for trouble, and the others that Juu wasn’t even certain what they were, the option pretty much presented itself. With the speed of molasses trying to roll down a cold stone, his feet began to trudge through the snow moving away from the center of town toward something that was akin to a second home for the new islander. ”First rule bout life, iffin yer new to somewhere, become friends with the butcher ‘n a bartender. The butcher’ll give ya good meat, ‘n the bartender’ll tell ya where shit is. Aight?” His head tipped back, letting some of the off-copper colored hair fall to the side as Juu peered back toward the girl, making sure her and the pup were following. Actually they had better of been following, otherwise Juu was gonna have ta hunt her ass down ‘n get his jacket back. He liked that jacket.

Regardless, after a few moments that had arrived at their destination, the sign hanging over the door reading ‘Juniper Bar’ and while it was a bit too early for the bar to be open, atleast the restaurant would be open and ready to provide some breakfast. Like pancakes, pancakes sounded really good bout nao. But like a true gent, one of his arms slipped free of his jeans and seized the knob of the wood door and pulled it open letting the mixed air slam together as cold tried to fight with hot, aroma filled goodness. Instead of walking inside however his foot shifted and caught the corner of the door, holding it open as he turned his body around at the waist to focus on Nora, as he motioned for her to enter. ”Ladies first, ‘n pups second.”
