Maybe it's time to change and leave it all behind

It was one thing being on this island where she knew only Gale, but there were things she was going to do that she had never done before. Like attend school, she had been schooled at the orphange before. Attending classes with other kids her age that had families or relatively normal lives was going to be new to her.

Though she wasn't technically enrolled yet Abigale couldn't help but find herself outside of the school, just staring at it. Of course Cole would be there with her when she attended classes and all that. At the moment she was alone, he was off somewhere else. Unlike many might come to think they weren't always together, just almost always. This building looked so normal, and quiet since it was late afternoon. Were there still kids in there studying?

Then it hit her, there would be adults in there too, the ones that taught and told her what to do. This brought a sour look to her face that Cole would have immediately laughed at. Maybe she wouldn't like school afterall. She had thought maybe she would since she would be getting to learn in a new environment but now that she thought about it maybe she wouldn't, she didn't trust adults yet how could she let them teach her things, what if they didn't teach her right?

"Huuuuuuuurry 'Daddy'~" The words playfully rolled of her tongue, like she was singing it. It made her giddy, like she was playing house and she was the baby. Well the Captain said they were family. Something about how a crew that works together, lives together or something. It still felt like they were deceiving everyone though. The thought only made Amber's lips curl into a mischievous smile. It was their little secret and no one was the wiser.

Amber skated ahead of Captain excited. The wheels of her roller blades shook has she ran over the bumpy unpaved path. Captain told her that if they were going to blend in, she would would have to attend school. She was sure the thought would normally frighten or disgust a kid, but it gave Amber chills of excitement. Little by little since she had returned to the island, little memories had returned to her. Nothing to big, she recognized a trail or two, a name would sometimes pop up to a face she would pass by. Strangely though, none of the people she remembered, remembered her. She didn't know if she should be relieved or not... One she still had no clue of where she came from, but.. it gave her more time to stay with her 'family'. Even if it was pretend, it made her happy. It might end though soon. If she really was from the island, wouldn't she have attended this school before? She was sure a teacher would recognize her if that was the case. Amber looked back at Captain waving with a big goofy grin on his face taking his time down the dirt path. She still hadn't told them that things were coming back...

Amber looked up seeing a girl in front of the school. One of her future classmates? Amber squealed a bit. The girl was a little to wormy(studious) for her taste, but she still ran up scooping the girl's hands into her own. "Are you a student here?" The girl looked so serious and plain. Even her hair seemed dull and grey despite her young age. It made Amber hide a smirk has she flipped her warm glowing brown hair superiorly. Amber was sure to give one of her cute friendly appealing smiles, "I'm Amber~ My daddy is helping me enroll day so I'll be joining you this year. Pleasure to meet you."

Abigale wasn't used to friendly people, more so the people that pretended to be friendly, so she hadn't expected anyone to come up and grab her hands like she was their best friend. Her face remained blank as she looked at the other girl. She studied her for a moment taking in the girl's character before removing her hands from the other's grasp. She resisted the urge to wipe her hands on her skirt, thats right she had some manners.

"Pleasure..." She said simply, she still appeared to be emotionless. The girl infront of her though oozed that 'I'm better than everyone else' attitude that Abigale hated. Those people that pretended to be your friend just because you possibly had something they wanted or because they felt sorry for you. It made her so mad.

Still not smiling Abigale shook her head. "I'm not a student." And she wasn't going to be until she found someone she didn't dislike to take her in, which was basically impossible. If anything she would only get a family because Cole would and he would refuse to go without her. She was just holding him back.
