The inn is decorated in the spirit of the season: lights, ribbons, garland, wreaths, and a beautiful looking tree stands in the corner. An array of holiday food is in the dining room for the taking, gingerbread and other cookies, appetizers, punch and a bar with a few drinks manned by a waiter. Cheery music flows through the rooms and something you may not notice right away is mistletoe hangs from almost every single door frame.
Come join for some laughs, good food, and general holiday cheer with your fellow townspeople.
NOTE: You may notice Prometheus lurking around this forum once in a while...to mess with those caught under the mistletoe. If you find yourself talking with someone, Prometheus might insist that you two exchange a holiday kiss. Basically, if you see your name one a the list Prometheus expects you to kiss the person you're paired with...but then again who ever does was Prometheus expects?

Today was finally the day of the Holiday party! The time for festive decorations and yummy holiday food only eaten at this time of year. Nolan, luckily, didn't have a shift during the party since he worked extra hours the day before. This was done on purpose of course for he wanted to enjoy the Holiday party rather than running around serving everybody. After he spent some time by himself, wandering the district and buying some gifts for family, Nolan headed to the Inn.
When he walked in, the immediate sound of music could be heard and a nice aroma of food filled his senses. Nolan hadn't been to any kind of Holiday celebration in awhile and attending one made his moods particularly good. He slowly walked through the Inn, taking a good look at all of the details in decorations and silently admiring them until the young man made his way to the array of food. Nolan grabbed himself a gingerbread cookie and quietly nibbled on it while simply enjoying the celebration. When more people came he'd socialize but as of right now he wanted to eat some food. After a few nibbles, Nolan smiled to himself. "Not bad!" He murmured, not talking to anyone in particular, and snagged one more cookie.

She suppose this wasn't bad for a small holiday shindig, but it certainly wasn't anything compared to the city. Lights had been string up on every available space blinding shoppers as they went from store to store, ribbons caused people to trip but they still managed to keep smiles on their faces, and then there was the scent. Good Goddess, the overpowering scent of synthetic evergreens, holiday baking, peppermint, and all the other air fresheners that everyone choose to use. At least here in the inn the scents were authentic. The wreathes were real and so were the cookies, it enough to put a smile on her face. Gwen had even dressed up a little festively, throwing on a green shirt after finishing work that afternoon. She smiled as she sipped her hot chocolate, it certainly felt like the holidays on this island, and she didn't have one problem with it now. TAG: Open It was all enough to make him sick, but of course since he had skipped the Snow Day and holding anything public for the Starry Night Festival, he was obligated to join in at these last few stupid events. As per usual, he was sulking in the corner avoiding contact with anyone bringing his own brand of holiday cheer to the party. Zed just didn't understand the reason and need to feel...happy this time of year. What was really different? Yes there snow on the ground and that much he enjoyed, but what else was there to be happy about? He couldn't come up with any good answer as he brooded...and brooded some more. TAG: Open It had been a while since Marle had come to a town event, and she was actually looking forward to it. Something festive to brighten her spirits, good food, good company, and good wine. Yes of course, the wine was on her mind. Since she had been asked to supply it the woman had made sure it was some of her better stuff, it was the holidays after all. Marle was excited to maybe see some people she hadn't in a while, throughout most of Fall and Summer she had been kind of secluded, not too sure what to do with herself. It was weird that the absence of her best friend had caused such a hole in her. When she walked into the room, red dress and a bit of holly tied in her hair ribbon, she spotted an unfamiliar face in the crowd. Figuring in was better to go say hello rather than act like an idiot waiting, she wandered on over to man by the food and questioned, "Anything good?"TAG: Nolan, Open

Somewhere in time I will find you and haunt you againLike the wind sweeps the earthOff duty, for once, and boy did it feel nice! He would still make sure things went smoothly. It would be bad to see people fighting or something on the Holiday Party. He would just have to hope that everything went well. His blue eyes scoped around the room. He saw some people, and then...gulp, his employer sulking in a corner. Making a mental note to avoid him, he looked around for someone to talk to. A grin spread wide upon his face as he recognized Nolan and approached the boy, trying go to him from behind, "Hello." He said, hoping to startle him at least. He did not look to the lady who was standing by yet. He was too busy waiting on Nolan's response to seeing him again. ((Hope you don't mind I set this to after Nolan and Mal have met)) Tag: Nolan, Open Anton walked in and was somewhat sulking. His bold blue eyes looked around and he spotted everyone he did not know and then a man sulking in a corner. Perhaps he should just go join him. This all was a little too bright and cheery for him. Of course, he never really had holidays back at home. His mother saw it as very unnecessary and materialized, but he always admired it and he could tell his sister did too. The two often exchanged gifts in private. He planned on one day trying to get his sister to come here with him. She would probably love it here more than he did. The doctor made his way over to the table, dressed in his black jacket, black pants, and black shoes. The jacket had an off-white trim to it and a rather big collar. He looked to the foods there, before taking some hot chocolate and pouring him some and taking a sip. He continued to look around before heading over to Zed. Leaning against the wall, Anton was quiet for a moment before casually sipping his drink and looking to him, "A little too festive and cheery for you too, huh?" He finally said after a moment of silence. The hot chocolate was welcoming. It felt warm going down his throat, and felt as though his whole body were heating up. Anton was grateful for it, especially after trudging through the cold out there. Tag: Zed, Open

Nolan continued nibbling on one of his gingerbread cookies before he suddenly engulfed the entire thing, munching with his mouth closed and looking at the display of food as he pondered what to grab next. Only a couple more things, though, since he didn't want to completely pig out before other people showed up. A woman approached him just when he was about to take a bite at the other cookie but he stopped and gave her a friendly smile. "I've only had some gingerbread cookies but they're really good! You should try one." He suggested and noticed the ribbon and holly in her hair. It looked festive and charming to him. "Your hair looks cute, by the way." Nolan complimented and took a bite out of his cookie.
Just when he munched down, a very familiar voice sounded behind him. Nolan turned around and nearly choked on the cookie in his mouth when he recognized the man as the cop from earlier that week. "W-woah!" He rasped and cleared his throat a few times, having a hard time breathing for a few moments. Nolan gave a nervous grin at the man and tried not to make a big deal, not wanting anyone to know he got in trouble with the police recently. "Hey, I remember you... enjoying the party so far?" Nolan casually asked.

Marle laughed as she watched the boy chow down on the cookie, "I'll be sure to do that." Looking over the entire spread, everything looked so amazing. Cakes, pies, cookies, various fruits with chocolate fondue in the middle, the woman blew out a sigh known she would have to start running again to work all the guilt off. Nonetheless she grabbed a small cookie and bit down, a smile spreading on her face. "Oh, thank you!" she replied to his compliment touching her hair as she did so, and then noticed a man coming up behind the boy, and appeared to surprise him. Once the initial awkwardness was over, she poked her head around the boy and said with surprise, "Malachi? Is that you?"TAG: Malachi, Nolan, OPEN Oh god, a cheerful person. Were the immediate thoughts that ran through the mayor's mind as someone came to stand beside him in his dark corner of sulking. He was probably going to question why he was here? Why wasn't he dressed a little more festively? Why wasn't he at least eating? He was not in the mood for that, but before he could make his move to get away from said person, something surprising came out of his mouth. "Uh...yes." Zed responded, not quite sure what else to say. "I just...don't understand the point of being extra cheery."TAG: Anton, OPEN

Malachi gave a chuckle as the boy had jumped. It seemed a little strange, now that he was talking to the boy in his casual clothes. After he was done chuckling, he gave a nod to the younger boy, "I am, how about you?" He asked, before another voice caught his attention. His blue eyes lifted up to see Merle, "Merle? Hey! How have you been?" He said, stepping into a position to better talk to the both of them. He looked to the two of them, smiling, "Are you both enjoying the party?" He asked, reaching over to the table to grab a cookie of some sort to munch on. This was one of the best parts about the festivals, the cookies.

Anton felt awkward now that this other man obviously did not seem to want to speak to him. He just gave a nod in return. "Same." Was all he said in return as he took another casual sip of his drink. He brushed his messy black hair out of his face as he continued to watch. Whether this man decided to stay and talk or to move over to be a lone wallflower somewhere else was none of Anton's business. He was the kind of man who did somewhat want socialization, but never really know how to go about it, and just never seemed to look for it. Perhaps he had no one to blame but himself for that, but oh well, that was how he liked things.

Nolan glanced at the woman then at the cop, who he had just learned was named Malachi. The two had some sort of connection with one another but hey, the guy was security at the island-- he was probably well-liked on some degree. Talking with the guy who arrested him earlier was on the uncomfortable side but tonight was for hanging out, socializing, and having fun. Maybe if Nolan got to know more about the guy they'd turn out to get along well. "Yeah, the food is great!" Nolan responded before he finished the rest of his cookie, proving further more he was a fan of it all. "So, you two know each other?" He asked curiously, figuring he might as well learn what their connection was. There was all night to learn about the folks in Saffron and see how much things changed.

Stepping through the front doors, Aurore quietly entered the party. It sounded like many locals would be attending and she didn't want to miss out on anything. Looking above, she saw some mistletoe hanging above her head and lightly blushed in the face. Luckily there weren't any people behind her to try stealing a kiss. She closed the door behind her and gazed at the festive decorations in the room, looking like whoever set up put a lot of effort into what they did. Aurore dressed in a white shimmering dress that reached to her ankles and had a short button-up grey coat with a candy can pin attached, wanting to dress up for the occasion. A familiar face was seen nearby and she approached them, recognizing the young woman as Gwen. "Hello, Gwen. You look lovely tonight." Aurore greeted with a warm smile, "We haven't spoke in a long time. Have you been well?"

Gabe could have found the holiday party in a town he’d never been in before. He just had to follow the feeling of merriment to the inn. The sounds and smells of the holidays coaxed him down the snowy lane to the source of joy. He could swear that the ability to sense joy made up for his lack of sight. Or the fact that Winston smelled food. That never hurt. As soon as Gabe entered the room, though, he knew what the draw was. The atmosphere was impeccable. It smelled of pine, fresh baked goods, and generally heaven. The warmth of the room was a stark contrast to the chill outside. There was chatter and laughter the room over…it was like the holidays at home. The very feeling filled him with glee. “Winnie!” Gabe whispered, ”Go get the cookies, boy! Get the cookies!”The dog began dragging him off in a general direction. Gabe didn’t doubt it was towards food. Tag: Open *** Elaina was in an unusually good mood. She couldn’t say why. She had never been a huge “holiday spirit” person; she had never been enraptured by the idea of gifts or trees or anything of the sort, though receiving presents was fine with her. But today she was in a good mood. Nearly humming and skipping as she entered the hall. The room was actually…charming. Lovely, even. There were lights and shimmering garlands and little decorations that just added to the festivities. If Elaina were more girly, she would be enraptured by how cute it all was. There was even mistletoe over— Oop. Better look out for that. Looking around the room, Elaina spotted no familiar faces. Suddenly she felt kind of…shy. After the last few festivals she knew well enough to avoid the bar. So she found herself hovering uncertainly by the door as Kiran passed her by. Tags: Open *** YES! Socializing! Kiran felt like he had been secluded on the farm for too long. It had been awhile since he had met up with anyone! Now was a time for meeting new folks and finding new friends. Even if his twin seemed a little awkward. Kiran wasn’t quite sure where he was going, attempting to turn every way at once, when he felt a jerk as he ran into someone’s elbow. Kiran turned on his heels, realizing he had run into a young woman with bright red hair. “Oh, my goodness, I am so sorry miss! I didn’t mean to run into you.” He looked over at the young woman across from her and gave an apologetic smile, “Or interrupt your conversation.”Tag: Gwen, Aurore

Sparrow had been hesitant to join the festivities downstairs. After all, she often preferred a quiet evening with a cup of tea to a party with a crowd. But as she settled down into bed with a book she found herself shifting and fidgeting an unusual amount, and a nagging voice telling her to join in grew louder and louder. Fed up with it, she gave a sigh and pushed herself out from underneath the blankets. In a matter of minutes, she had picked out her best cold-weather dress (a simple thing of green velvet and black ribbon), dusted on a bit of makeup, and put her hair up in a simple bun.
Smoothing out her dress, she shut and locked the door behind her and descended the stairs, the soft murmur of voices enveloping her as she reached the first floor. The sight of decorations brought a small smile to her face which grew as she breathed in the mingled Wintry smells. She walked slowly towards the main room, taking time to admire the decorations, noting how mistletoe seemed to hang everywhere. It looked like someone was eager for a kiss. As she was not that person, she edged around the greenery, sticking to the sides of the door frame.
She glanced around at the various faces, wondering if any would become familiar by the end of the night, and migrated towards the refreshments.

After the man initially spoke, Zed waited for the surge of questions that would soon come. However, the man remained silent. Zed waited a few more moments before finally breaking the silence by asking, "Aren't you going to question as to why?"TAG: Anton, OPEN "Better than most." she replied with a smile as she stepped around the boy to form a triangle with the other two men. "How about you? I heard you were the police officer for Saffron now?" She knew she had probably seen Malachi in passing while she had been on the island, but maybe hadn't put two and two together. Or even been too wrapped up in other matters to even notice other people for a while. Marle nodded to the other boy, "We grew up here on the island together. He was always a stickler for the rules." She teased Malachi lightly, poking him in the arm as she said so. TAG: Malachi, Nolan, OPEN Gwen couldn't help but yawn a little bit as she clutched the warm hot chocolate between her hands. Suddenly she heard a voice speaking to her, and it sounded like apparently someone who knew her. The red head looked up to see a woman who almost looked like a ghost in the white dress and studied her for a moment before a guess at her name crossed her lips. "...Aurora?" Gwen had absolutely no idea if it was even close, but it was better than nothing. She was about to speak again when she felt someone run into her elbow, about to turn around to call out to however bumped into her. His smile caught her a bit off guard though, "Oh, that's alright." she said backing up a bit to make room for him, "No harm, no foul."TAG: Aurore, Kiran, OPEN

Malachi gave a nod to Merle as she responded before grinning, "I've been well, and yes, I am a police officer here." He said, though did not tell about his latest escapade involving Nolan. He did not want to embarrass him when he was standing right there. His blue eyes moved over to said boy when he had asked if they knew each other and he gave a nod, but Merle answered first, "We did." He said but grinned sheepishly when she mentioned how he was always a stickler for the rules and poked him in the arm as she did. Letting off a nervous chuckle, he responded, "I suppose I was. Guess I was born for this job." He said before looking back to Nolan, "But what about you? How have you been doing?" He asked, wanting to involve him in this conversation too.

Anton was quiet for a while, just drinking his hot coffee and content to just remain there in silence, watching everyone else. Suddenly Zed had looked to him and asked if he was going to ask why he did not see the need to be extra cheery. The young doctor remained quiet for a little longer, casually taking another sip of his hot chocolate. "I don't see why I should, really. The reason is probably the same for me, but I suppose I will ask anyways, so, why?" He asked, wondering if Zed had something to say. He inwardly braced himself for an incoming rant. Perhaps he would start with the mistletoe? Anton was about to find out.

When the woman turned around, Kiran let his smile widen, trying to appear friendly. "I'm glad I didn't make you spill at least. Very sorry though." The woman across from his accidental victim introduced herself briskly, but offered a smile. Taking that as encouragement, Kiran extended his hand to her. "Hi, my name is Kiran. It's very nice to meet you...both." At this he turned to give Gwen another sheepish smile.
"I hope I wasn't interrupting, ladies." He said, noting Aurore's reluctance to move, "If I was, I can just..." He made a hapless little gesture indicating he could move on.
