In the future, Mail knew he would have to do something nice for Valshe. Getting worried over him having a coughing fit on the floor of an Inn wasn't good enough... he knew he'd have to do something for the man, but he didn't know what. It's not like Mail really helped people that often and knew what to do whenever someone actually did do something nice for him. In response to Valshe, he merely smiled, finding that he couldn't grasp the right words to speak in response.
Hearing that Valshe would walk him out, Mail walked alongside him on their way out. Being walked out by someone else that wasn't on the job and required to do such a thing was odd but he didn't mind it. If anything, he liked that Valshe didn't mind doing such a thing for him. "
Maybe next time there won't be anything strange happening." He replied though he was hoping that third time was a charm for that. Maybe it'd just take a few times seeing each other before all this stuff started happening, or Mail was just doomed.
O-of course, Mail wasn't
that eager to see Valshe. Not like he
had to see him! It was just... you know, he needed to pay him back! That's all. When they reached the door, Mail uncomfortably looked down and stopped. "
Well... I assume we'll see each other again sometime." He began with a slight smile, not being the best at saying goodbye to people he actually had grown a little closer to other than just strangers or business partners. If they were just spending time because of work or simply bumping into each other, it was easier for Mail to bluff up some lie on why he had to go and professionally bid his farewell. Now that he was actually past that point with Valshe, even just by a little bit, it was a little more hard for him to come up with the proper goodbye. "
The community is small." He added and almost flinched from what he felt was a lame thing to add on.
Small community...? Seriously? That's what he came up with? Grasping the handle of the door, Mail opened it and stepped outside before looking at Valshe one more time. For some reason he felt a bit empty doing this. "
See you soon." He finally said in a softer voice before turning to face the street and beginning his way back home. His notes were tucked inside the pocket of his coat and he didn't think he forgot anything... now, Mail had to start getting his files together before entirely starting his research here.
