Title: Your 4th of July
Description: A topic only relevent in 'MURKA!
SaiyanShredder - July 2, 2012 07:45 PM (GMT)
Simple premise, what are you doing this 4th of July?
My family and I will be having friends over and we'll grill (obviously), we'll shoot off fireworks (in the front yard this time >_>), and later on we'll head on over to where the fireworks show will be.

I'll be turning 25. *cries in the corner because I'm so old*

Oh, come on, you'll only be 25! That's not old at all. Not even nearly as old as...

...fuck.

I'll prolly be the only American to make this kind of post, but it's just going to be another day for me.
The old man isn't even coming home because there's no use in making a four hour drive home for a one day vacation, the old woman works the next day, the fireworks are rather meh, I don't care enough to see most of the people who will be there, etc. All in all I'd rather just stay inside and crank the AC up.
Sure, we could go elsewhere, but it's not like we're near a city where the fireworks are a novel experience. I'm sure we would if we were.

I'm doing fuck all. My digestive system is still all kinds of fucked after my illness, so I can't eat anything with flavor at all (I've been living off noodles, saltines, and vanilla yogurt), so I can't even have a nice delicious burger in celebration. I'm sure someone somewhere is doing fireworks, but fuck if I care.

absolutely nothing, because everyone around me sucks at everything.
seriously, what do normal awesome people do? have cookouts. what do we do? I bet my mom will be too lazy to even make food so I'll eat ramen. >_>

Marching in the local 4th of July parade. I'm in it for the marching band part, the other parade participants are like "check out my crappy old car and support _____ for [elected position]" and "hi guys we're boy scouts". Aside from that, nothing AFAIK.

Working. Fuck you all for doing productive things. :P

Last weekend I was at my grandpas campground and they had fireworks. I sat in the camper watching nascar. This weekend, my mom will be going with family. I will probably choose to stay home and watch the night race at Daytona.

This.

I'll be seeing the fireworks in Seattle with family and friends tomorrow.
I might also get to drive my family there. FUCK YEAH
paige5999 - July 4, 2012 03:36 AM (GMT)
We went to the fireworks in our town tonight, they were pretty good but it was pretty hot out. We were going to go to fireworks tomorrow in another town, but as we were leaving my dad got a kidney stone attack so he's in a shit ton of pain. =(
ParanoidPaal - July 4, 2012 11:06 AM (GMT)
I'll be doing nothing special. I'm taking a ~3 hour train ride home, going to throw a pizza in the oven when I get home and enjoy some live Devin Townsend or Skyrim.
SaiyanShredder - July 5, 2012 04:18 AM (GMT)
We had an awesome fucking time. Had a ginormous feast of hot dogs, chips, hamburgers... the usual food of the 4th. Afterwards we set up a net and played some volleyball.
Once we got bored of that we began throwing
m777s around, we lit up a few Roman Candles too (the first one I used backfired and exploded in my hand, I escaped without a scratch much to all of your chagrin). We then went around to the front yard and began stockpiling all of the fireworks our friends had brought over (they had spent over $500 on fireworks from Wisconsin). We started off firing small stuff, then moved on to the
heavy artillery. This went on for about 3 hours, we didn't even bother going to the fireworks show, we WERE the fireworks show!

Today pretty much went how I thought it would. Highlight of my day was my mom brought home some Wendy's.

Yeah, that's a disappointment.
nascargo19 - July 5, 2012 07:59 PM (GMT)
All I really did was a little bit of GH/RB. Of course it was mandatory for me to play the Star Spangled Banner. FCd two songs that I had choked on several times before. (Drain You + Self Esteem)
I'd still call the unexpected Wendy's the high point of my day.

My parents came up to camp for Family Night. We had the Camp Parade and Flag Lowering, ate KFC, then we went to the Amphitheater and watched a Flag Retirement Ceremony followed by an Indian Dance Pageant.
