Nikolai grew up in a mountain range in the northern reaches of the continent, spending most of his days alone with his brother and sister while his parents traveled to the villages surrounding the range. Almost always absent, the task of raising him fell to his older sister, Katerina. For the first decade of his life, Nikolai only saw his parents on birthdays or in the winter, so he spent most of his days inside playing with a child-sized archery set or his set of tools for carpentry. Once Nikolai was old enough to learn how to hunt properly, his eldest brother, Dimitri, would take him on trips to find a trail for animals. For years he simply tracked game while Dimitri used the bow. Nikolai began to hate how his brother would kill excessively, taking him on trips every week. Soon he began to grow distant from Dimitri, leaning more towards his skills with a hammer to fix the house. At the age of eighteen, Nikolai finally left his brother and sister, fearing that his life was beginning to feel empty. For the next decade, he wandered, using his skill with tools to fix up houses or barns in exchange for a little coin. Now he finds himself wandering into Rosemary.
