Attracting Attention, Well, we ain't gettin many people atm...

D'ya think we should put adverts out to all our forums etc to encourage more/new people to get in? We're a littl ethin atm and while the big heads are away, we need to form up a little staff. Hell, i'm a noob myself here, but I'm gonna jump in the deep end.

Any ideas on other attention grabbers?

Or am I just ranting crap? (Trust me, it happens )

Yeah, I think that's a really good idea. I'm glad you and Genoa are here, but we definitely could use some more people. I've tried to get in touch with the old mod, MoonlightMK2 (who is a major reason why RMN even exists), but he hasn't responded to my E-mails. Hopefully some of the old staff will come back, but in the meantime we'll have to find new staff. Some advertising ideas:

• Affiliate with Mega Man fan sites/boards (e.g. Bob and George (seems to be down right now) or the Mega Man Network) - We could have little ad thingies at the bottom of the board (either text or graphical) for these sites, and in return they would put up an ad for us.
• Advertise on Z2. This is a website dedicated to games made with ZZT. It's a small but active site, and they'll put up banner ads for free. (I have one on there).
• Ask around on Mega Man message boards - not spam, of course, but post on sections of boards that are dedicated to Mega Man fangames. Maybe we could post some concept art or link to the game, and mention that we're looking for people to help out.

I'm sure that there are a ton of talented people out there who would be willing to help; it's just a matter of finding them and letting them know we exist.

Also, someday we should make a really cool flash cartoon, because that's what kicked off the project that led to this project in the first place. (Maybe you've seen the Rockman Neo video, although we can't touch that with a ten foot pole now). I know it's probably not something that would happen in the near future, but if we get enough cool art and gameplay ideas and a flash animator who can put it together, that could be amazing publicity.

Well, i'm not a big digital artist, but i'm learning it gradually.

As for advertising, I came from VGMP3, Geona told me there. I think there are some people still interested, but i'll get another topic started over there stating that we actually need the help. We need to get some user-bars going for signatures

How's this for a sig? The idea is that you'd put it at the bottom of your posts and put a link to the board so it's clickable. Is it interesting and a decent size? I know there's a little too much white space; I'll try to get rid of that later.

(I'm using Boombox for the text at the bottom but I can't seem to find Boombox 2. Any suggestions on where I'd get a copy?)

P.S. I just realized that there are a few stray grey pixels over on the right. I'll clean those up and repost.

It came as the standard font to eJay MP3 Station Pro.

[EDIT]: How long are you gonna host the sig for? I'll save it just in case, but i'm goin to direct link it to my vgmp3 sig and possibly to deviantart as well.

The image is hosted right on the board, so the file should stay up forever - there are no bandwidth limits that I'm aware of, and you can link to the file from any board. If the InvisionFree people have server problems, I guess the image might go down then, but it should stay up otherwise. If you feel like hosting it elsewhere, that's cool too.
