 Boss fight song

Hey, I just realized that we still need a song for boss fights. I put together a song called Guidance (Hard Mix) that might fit the bill nicely. It's at http://www.ragingmime.com/music.shtml if you're curious. Would you guys be okay with using this?

Perhaps we should set our bosses into three classes:

- Sub Boss
- Stage Boss
- Story Boss

A Sub Boss would be your standard middle of the stage fight. A stage boss is the boss at the end of the stage, and a story boss is a boss that has some sort of impact on that character, seperating it from the run of the mill boss.

Obviously, this means more work, but...

As for Guidance(HM), the feel is just wrong for a fight. I quite like the song, but it just wouldn't fit, I think.

That's fine; I just figured I'd offer.

Makes sense... although I don't think there'd be much difference between story bosses and stage bosses. Both would be big fights, and every character would have some impact on the story. But I see what you mean. (The metnexts seem like they'd make cool sub bosses... maybe a bunch of them could gang up on Nova).

Well, there's a certain level of significance needed... Like, Nova v. Mirror would get Story Boss music, but Mirror or Alpha up against the raging machine would get Stage boss music.

I like the song, not neccessarily for a boss, but maybe a training fight between Mirror and Alpha say.

Okay, good and bad news. I have these two old tunes I made in single sittings with Fl Studio 4 (demo) which I'm willing to remix if one feels they're good enough.

Depths of the Mind PART 1 and PART 2

Bad news is, I'm moving to uni next week and I won't have the internet. However, I will have a LOAD of free time on my hands and will be banging out more work, you just gotta wait 2-3 weeks for the next instalement.

[[EDIT]] -- Whoops... forgot to explain em ^^;

I think I remember talk of having a lead up (i.e. a calmer part) that would denote a dialogue between the character and boss, then the hard fast fight scene.

This is awesome stuff... it has a nice edge to it and continues the goa-ey feel of a lot of the songs you've posted so far. Sorry I'm a little late with the commenting... life's been nuts recently.

I was also thinking that in the demo, maybe we should include some sort of storyline summary when the game begins. We could have a few paragraphs of text appear on the screen, maybe accompanied by a couple pieces of concept art or something. Part 1 would definitely work for a boss lead-up, but it might work for that too. And Part 2 would be a great boss song... seems like it'd loop pretty nicely. (The transition between the songs is good too, although we'll have to decide how long the pre-boss dialogue will be... but that can be worked out.

Thanks for posting this... I'll try to work some of the new music you've posted into the demo. (I've got a couple ideas for how an insanity system could be implemented, so the insanity music might make an appearance).
