Everything had started on a cool night within the mountain caverns in the year 2205. A family that had long since been a part of the mountain survivors was giving birth to their first child, a son they had presumed with the violent batches of morning sickness his mother received. After hours of labor, Braxton Malakai Armstrong was born into the world of the outland survivors, destined to be like his father and his grandfather. The Armstrongs had a habit of being scavengers for the people. Those daring enough to leave the safety zones with only filtration masks to keep them from the harmful atmosphere and come back with essentials for the group. Before the baby even had a chance to cry, that was his destiny whether he liked it or not. There was no way Jakeb was going to let his son be the rift in the 'family business' and so from an early age, survival outside the safe zones was drilled firmly into his head.
