Depends on what you're going to school FOR. Like you can do trades and specializations at the Nova Scotia Community College for not that much. My art degree has put me in the hole about 20 000 or so. But Anna did a science degree and I assume it costed more. The other thing is that we both went to a university that's considered one of the most expensive in the country. . . so yeah. Websites for the individual schools generally have some tuition information, so you can check a few from particular regions and get a sense for costs in terms of the programs you're interested in.

Indeed. Nova Scotia has the highest tuition fees in Canada. Back when I was in school, it was costing me about $3500 per semester (not including textbooks and various other expenses). Also I lived at home so I didn't pay for residence or anything, which apparently costs a bundle. Anyway $3500/semester x 2 semesters per year x 3 years (or 4... or 5 like I did) = ~$20000 - ~$35000. Of course, I finished school 3 years ago and tuition fees have been rising steadily so it's probably more now. I'm not sure what the rates are like in the rest of Canada.

This is still much lower than rates I hear about in America. I've heard of crap colleges having tuitions in the upper 40,000s, but I'm not sure about the rates around here. I'll have to ask someone next time I leave my house.

Universities are generally ridiculously expensive, but Colleges around here are relatively cheap.

Compare around. Especially out east, it ain't gonna burn a hole in your pocket too badly.

Most Colleges will have one to two year programs that are either a certificate or diploma that will cost between $1500 and $3000 per year. Again, it depends on the course you take. The more specialized the course, the more money it is. But if you're an international student you could probably add $5000 to $10,000 to regular tuition.
